Exploring the Deep Sea Food Web
The deep sea appears barren, lifeless, and silent. The lonely expanse rolls out into a long horizon, while the great abyss plummets ever-downwards into darkness. Communities of life are solitary. They seem isolated from other habitats in the deep. But there is more going on here. The exact nature of the deep sea food web is still not fully understood, but advancements in technology and research in recent years have granted us a greater understanding of how these separate settlements of life are interconnected as one. Let’s take a closer look at the food web of the deep sea.

It sort of is national geopgraphic, he's ripping footage from a lot of different sources (mainly Natgeo) and narrating it. Odds are the channel is going to mysteriously disappear one day, but he definitely has a career in the field.

@Chaos I certainly do use footage from anywhere I can find it - the Fair Use policy should somewhat protect me, but I know big companies often take issue with things like this. Hopefully nothing happens - making these videos is a passion project of mine that I never want to stop doing :)

this channel is so amazing - not only are there a ton of videos but they’re all so well made that this feels like KZread premium or something .. it’s difficult to impress me, but the narration is so captivating and the music choices are always so well fit ?? the detail that goes into each and every one of these videos is just stunning, don’t let anyone who doesn’t enjoy them bog you down at all cos they’re stunning (even though I appreciate your openness to criticism) 😁😁

Hey! I am a oceanography student writing my master thesis about deep-sea octopods. Whenever I feel demotivated in between, I watch one of your deep-sea videos and get inspired again. Great work, thank you!

This is so interesting! I never thought about it before, but it makes sense that the lack of sunlight has led organisms to adapt to other means of producing nutrients. Nature is amazing!

This is the first of your videos I’ve watched, and I have to say, they are beautifuly crafted, from the narrating, the music and the visuals, stunning and clear straight forward yet interesting approach that never gets monotone, keep this amazing job, this is the best ocean/sea related channel, and I’m a science freak so I’ve watched a lot of videos Hahahahahh Congrats!!! I wish you all the best luck and joy in for your Channel and your life Thank you very much for your dedication
I been binge watching all the ocean films from this chanel and i am obsessed. Its so relaxing, the camera shots, the narrator, the music is just 🤌 great work!
This is very interesting about the vents down there! Crazy how things evolve!
I've watched your videos in order and saw how your voice change overtime. From a high-pitch energetic voice, to a calming soft narrative voice.
I watched this in science class and it was so good!!! Loved it so much! Thank you
Ive been using these to sleep. Both because they are goregous and his voice is so lovely. But also there is an odd peace about a place so sperated from our own though not so far away.
This video is amazing! Thanks for giving us chance to see how life continues in the unseen part of the ocean.

Usually I'm not too big on english accents (sometimes I hyperfixate on things) but you my friend have that ASMR type of voice just without the cringe. That kind of stuff isn't my forte, but big homie over here got that type of voice I could fall asleep to. Ever consider getting into voice acting?
Really great as usual at exploring the deep, have you read about the paleontology of whale falls and the gap between the extinction of the giant marine reptiles and the rise of whales? Wonder how energy transfer in the deep was affected by industrial whaling?

you should be the narrator of a fromsoft game your voice is brilliant
this is so trippy
10:30 at minimum velocity... Amazing image.
Thank you for not using the term "food chain". That term has misleading implications, implying ecosystems to be linear affairs wherein organisms are stacked on top of each other one at a time in positions of dominance.
So true…..thank you…..best nature channel I have seen since National Geo was…..well Nat Geo!

One is all, All is one.
It really is amazing to me how so many species of marine animals, insects, algae, fungus, even down to microscopic life like the amoeba, etc, are never even thought of by most people, but are so integral and necessary for all other life on the planet, including our own, to even be possible. For example, if anything ever happened on a global scale that caused the death of all the plankton in the world’s oceans, it would only take a few years for the rest of the life on the planet to become significantly affected, of course eventually causing the extinction of most of the life on Earth. If more people were aware of this fact, we would treat our home very differently than we do currently. Not only do we humans have nowhere else to go should we destroy our planet, but we also in turn make it uninhabitable for most of the other species on it.
