Exploring the Chattanooga Zoo (Full Tour)

Join the Highway Ghost for a fun day at the Chattanooga Zoo. See George the giraffe eat lettuce from my hand and all the other interesting animals ranging from chimpanzees to a komodo dragon. This was a great place to spend a summer day on my Highway Ghost Zoofari Tour and I highly recommend it for everyone.

I find zoos both fascinating and sad at the same time. I hate seeing the animals locked up, but some can't ever survive again in the wild. Then there's those that are so rare that being in protective locations may save them from extinction, like the red pandas that are as few as 2500 left in the wild. I really liked feeding George the giraffe, he was something else. Funny giant creature looking for a snack. I felt tiny standing there. I'll be filming more of these types of videos as time allows. Thanks for watching. HG

I guess you could sorta call this my hometown zoo (although I technically live in GA) and I went a ton as a kid. I have only been once since I’ve been an adult and it was to their Christmas light event they have. It’s not the biggest or best zoo but for kids raised in the Chattanooga area this, along with the aquarium and lake Winnie was everything !

You must have lived near Dalton or Tunnel Hill, GA. Been all around this area and this was the most busiest time that I've ever had trying to get there. It took over three hours to go from Murphy, NC to Chattanooga, and Ocoee, TN had insane traffic all the way to the city. I have more filming to do over there someday, but not sure when, due to tourist hordes. Never been to the Christmas light events at the zoo, since I don't celebrate Christmas, but I've heard of it. They have a Halloween Boo at the Zoo that looks interesting. Endless strange travels. \m/ HG

Hello there, this is the Highway Ghost speaking. I wanted to say hello and thanks for checking out the channel. About your question, the zoo is pretty good size but not as big as Zoo Atlanta or any of the bigger town locations, but it's definitely worth a visit and has a wide variety of animals and attractions. I have a video from their carousal ride that's pretty awesome as well. Fun stop and reasonable place for a family or couple day or fly solo for a day trip.
