Thanks Ross for this walk along. I stayed in St. Martin when I visited and it is still as lovely and busy as ever. Yes the florist was a cafe, as I remember it well. It was the first and last place I visited during my stay. The only time it rained was the minute I arrived, I got soaking wet and sat inside with a tea and cheese toastie, steaming away from the welcome warmth inside and my dripping coat! The morning I left I had breakfast there. The little Green Hut was always busy too. If I remember there was a George (Asda) clothing store at the back of the garage back then. Lots of Reutte Tranquille in St Martin, which I enjoyed walking round. I think that's Senners Bakery is just after The Queens Hotel, I remember the Guernsey Gache tea bread from there. Happy times.

Hi John, glad you enjoyed your holiday to Guernsey and hope you can return again in the future 🇬🇬👍
I grew up in St Martin, went to school there too. I remember the jewellers being a chemist before it moved next to Ogier's and the Post Office that used to be pretty much opposite the Methodist Church. Spied Senner's bakery just on the corner past The Queen's too, very delicious! Thanks for sharing this, good memories.

Oh, and La Croix Guerin used to have a sweet shop in the right hand part of the cafe. That's going back some years though!

This is a good intro to the ‘High street’ of St Martin.
Lovely walk…..❤️🥰Lucy.
I have only ever driven thru there on my way to somewhere so it was nice to have a slow jaunt along the road. Thanks Ross.

Thanks Colin👍🇬🇬
Wondered if they still sold the fruit and vegetables they grew, we bought a lot from these and runner beans 😋😋
I stopped what I was doing to watch this. I am wondering if on another walkabout you can meander through the lanes of St Martins so we can see some of the beautiful properties? Maybe that would be a privacy issue. I do like the granite walls and high shrubbery separating the homes on the main road from the noisy traffic.
