Exploring the 1964 Schiedmayer Celesta at The Museum of Making Music

The Museum of Making Music in Carlsbad, California and its Manager of Artifacts and Exhibitions, Jonathan Piper, provides a behind the scenes look at an interesting artifact, a 1964 Schiedmayer 5-octave Celesta. While it may look like a standard upright piano at a quick glance, the unique construction, as explained by Jonathan creates an entirely different sound than one would expect. Donated by Shiedmayer, this Celesta is on display as part of the permanent collection at the museum.
