I was just 5 when I heard that for the first time.....and I loved it! I still do! Imagine going into a music shop with keyboards and just playing that..... You'd become the center of attention. Everyone would just stop and look. But it looks such and easy melody to play too! I'll definitely be having a go at this tomorrow!

This is great. Sounds far better than the easy version I learned a while ago (which essentially just omitted all of the chords). I'll be sure to try this version now. Thanks for the tutorial. :)

Well you got me - When I think letter notes - I think of the letter note sheets - Yeah - if I needed the letters on the keys then we're all in trouble :) But the letters & lighted keys - I don't think there is a better tool on KZread for ease of audience perception - if there is, I haven't seen it - ) And, even though my fingers sometimes get in the way - they are real fingers! ... not lights sliding down the screen ... making your eyes cross & see double ;;--))

Interesting - probably depends on the song; I always pick the song out by ear before I consult anything, then I look at music notation - if available for free, chord charts - if available and start creating the letter notes with a conscious effort to simplify, be true to the original sound, and make it playable with two hands. Quite often I disagree with either the music or the chord charts - then I trust my ear. I won't put a song up until I have the letter notes complete -)

You are playing it like an amateur. You are leaving out so much. Driving me insane. Played it in 1967 on a B3 and played it ever since in bands. The intro chord sequence is C, Em/B, Am, C/G, F, Am/E, Dm, F/C, (then a bass line run notes from C, D, E, F, to the next chord sequence of G, G7/F, Em, G, C, F, G, F/A, G/B.....and onto the song itself by following the chord sequence.

Sorry to disappoint ... I certainly agree with your harmonic analysis ... I think if you look at the letter notes you'll see agreement. I don't try to fill out all of the harmonies above the walking bass line. Glad to know you're still playing:) 1967 - I was still in High School - graduated 2 years later :)
