@@leerichard994 we do fill it most days, fill the capacity we are allowed anyway. It’s been averaging 9-11 thousand this season, slowly going to start dropping if we continue as we are though 😂

was at brian cloughs first game in charge a cup match at white hart lane in 1975 2nd div forest beat first div spurs,a sign of things to come cheers Ry

Van hooijdonk was great for us.. Wish he didnt get all funny. From that moment he went on strike til steve cooper took us to the prem. We struggled. Hooijdonk mustve black magick voodooed us, but the african presence at the club has lifted the veil, ive never seen such a buzz at forest. Crazy.. Wakanda forever 😜❤

Love this video you was at my club on the Friday night I was there too not a great game for notts tht night I was in the same stand as u my friend Richard morris hope to see u at the lane for big big game once day soon

I'm a forest fan and I have been inside the legends lounge against man United and it is amazing great hospitality and 1 forest legend comes and does an interview in the middle, you get padded seats and free snacks with a program It is the best experience you can have in the city ground You redssss

Great video. Ian Storey Moore on the legends stone, I remember talking to him a few years back. Brian Clough announced his signing for Derby county in 1972, but he did a U-turn and signed for Manchester United. Clough wasn't happy!

Thanks (from Malaysia) for this trip down memory lane. Good to see the fan base is still as old as it always was. Btw, Meadow Lane was only three-sided during the rebuilding. It holds over 20K today and we often got 30+ in the 70s (eg an unlucky loss to the great Leeds team of the mid-70s).

Great video mate 👍 Just a bit of information about the redevelopment of the City Ground. The Peter Taylor stand is being knocked down for a new three tier stand. It will bring the capacity up to 36 000 . Also the bridgeford end is being reconstructed to eventually bring the Ground capacity to 38,000 Cheers 🍻

Should be building a 12000 seater main stand, not 10000. Someone said Marinakis has bought the houses behind the Bridgford stand. The whole stadium needs expanding.

@@BrianPinas9 Forest have owned the first 4 houses(2 either side of the road) for a while now. I put the TV's in them for the academy players years ago. Don't know if they've purchased anymore though?

And I go back a few years before that - with a back line of Brindley, Stubbs, Needham, Worthington - when Notts dominated Div 4 in the early 70s. I might be misremembering but I think I recall Mark Hately, Steve Hodge, and Kilcline all playing schoolboy footie at Arnold schools. They used to paste us every year.

Have you been to Prenton Park yet? (Home of Tranmere Rovers). If not, you definitely should. A great ground.

Chris we used to play in the cave back in the 60s ,think it was in that area that collapsed, probably about 150/200 yards from the A 70 if my memory serves me right. Oh it wasn't the English who cut of Gavin's ear's it was Scottish catholic Jacobites during the killing years. That's the main reason the Cameronians were raised, didn't they teach you local history in the primary school like we did.

The attendance at Notts v Gillingham was 10, 340. A National League record attendance of 16,511 was set v Yeovil in 22/23 season. Before Meadow Lane was redeveloped (it was only 3-sided for a very short time whilst the main stand was replaced) there was a very old and small wooden stand at the Meadow Lane end. This dated from when they played across the river at the cricket ground. It was floated across the river when they moved to Meadow Lane. Forest played at Meadow Lane for a while in the mid-1960's after a fire destroyed the main stand at the City Ground. Next to the City Ground, there is Nottingham Rugby, and about 1/2 a mile away towards the city centre is the Ice Stadium (around 10,000 capacity) with Nottingham Panthers Ice Hockey.

There is a seccond shop in the city by the council building

I went to Forest v Derby at the City Ground, it was absolutely immense! It wasn't a patch on Elland Road, but it's a class gaff.

One of the main developments you were asking about, is that Forest are going to rebuild the "Peter Taylor Stand" (also known as the Main Stand) to drastically increase the seating capacity of the ground itself. I have also been in the Legends Lounge! ❤

I love Nottingham. I spend a lot of time there, watching the Nottingham Panthers (Nottingham's professional Ice Hockey club) I have been to the City Ground 4 times & Meadow Lane twice

They’re expanding the stadium I believe to 38,000 by adding a corner to one of the stands

Developments are upgrading the stands and bigger

Notts county originated the black and white stripes which lead to juventus adopting kits from notts county, an English man who had a friend who played for county back in the early days asked to borrow and supply 11 notts county kits that is where juventus had the idea to use the black and white stripes for their home kit

It currently has an all-seated capacity of 18,816 for EFL games, although its maximum capacity is 20,229

Hiya mate, going to be random but do you mind me asking how tall you are? I’ve seen your dhgate videos and I’m going to buy some and am unsure what size to get. (Very lean but 6”2)

Only thing I’d correct is the stadium is 19k, we are allowed up to 17k which we have reached in the past few years, we get 10-11k most games this season

They are building corporate boxes on the corners of the grounds. We are still waiting on the redevelopment to increase capacity by knocking down the peter taylor stand to become the biggest stadium in east midlands. Not holding out hope, I have been waiting forever to see this stadium increase it's size, would do wonders for the club and local economy.

I'm not going to go through all the comments to check if it was mentioned but the capacity at Meadow Lane is much nearer 20K than it is 10K.

Went to forest about 11 years ago and county opened their bar for away fans going to forest

As kids we jumped over the gate and camped all night in city ground we had to escape frome ground staff in morning😂

My dad is friends with some old Forest players. One of them gave my dad his old fridge.

Yep, and they're still talking amongst themselves about a cup they won 50 years ago with a Derby County manager.

Notts County is the Oldest Professional Football Club/Ground But SHEFFIELD FC is the Oldest Football Club in the World 1857! But they was Never professional that why some people/Football fans get confused! They sold the first ever Rules Book afew Years ago as they needed the Money!
