Fun fact: if you play the type 5 demo not as map, but as demo, on the jumpscare moment, chat would be flooded with "HELLO" message

fun fact: if you open the demo version of the type 5 at the end of the demo instead of the "goodbye" in chat it's anomi saying "hello" over and over again (technically not anomi, just the generated player but since anomi was the one generating it was their name, y'know)

yeah its the data43 demo and its really cool lol
I find it interesting that the textures inside the head are the elite model that was in the first ever Type 5 in CS:S and that the NPC was transported into a CS:S version of the map.

On my first viewing when the lighting wasn’t broken, I thought the giant head was a “scrawny little man” and the big head jumpscare was just the thing shoving its regular-sized face into the DMNPC. Ngl the later realization made me chuckle at myself.
Using the Texture to form rudimentary teeth is both cool and terrifying. Many people are also saying that the Elite is the same skin from the one that was taken from the CS:S Type 5 demo. That has terrifying implications if they are the same one. What the hell did the Umbrella Men do to that guy, turn them into some kind of Type 6? For what purpose?
In the recent valve repo leak there were models of css characters with actual face flexes when normally theyre completely statue still, I think the leet crew model from that leak was used for the giant head also explaining why the texture of the model is inside it too
It's all fun and games until the square dance music starts playing. But no seriously that's freaking terrifying. What the hell was that.

I thought further exploring the demos would give us more information and insight, but what the fuck is this type 5 supposed to mean? The only thing that maybe correlates to this is the "makeface" stuff from the Eidamona channel? Is this another new entity? I'd like to see Anomi explain this one. Also, an observation: at the beginning of the demo, the CT character seemingly falls through the demo void to reach the untextured cs:s version of office. Also also, anyone has any idea what's the deal with all the "hello", "goodbye" and "hi" stuff? (messages that appeared in the chat of demos, in played sound files and in the hi-guy type 5)

every type 5 demo has its own oddities. Remember the one from Left 4 Dead 2? The threat in that one was a bunch of T-Posing zombies/broken models. In SpookyCoast, the threat was that ally in the house, wandering around like a zombie until it saw the DMNPC. In the TF2 type 5, the threat appeared to be one of the TF2 characters turned demonic, like in spookyCoast. Now, it's the giant face. I don't think it has any specific lore. The DMNPCS seem to suffer their own unique fates.

Yeah, it sometimes feels as though the "scare" moments have some artistic liberties taken, such as the glowing white eyes of the npc in "spooky coast" demo. Even so, I hope these little loose ends are addressed, I find these "AHA!" moments the best part of a mystery.

@@obunga5374 Maybe it's the kind of power Umbrella Men have? They create these traps or 'entities' to catch DMNPCs. Sometimes they do it themselves, other times they break the source engine to create weapons (like the apocalyptic glitchy zombies or the giant ass face).

@@tobenamed610 It is U-Man power its his traps Spookycoast had these zombie like npcs, L4D2 had these t posing zombies and giant hand behind them, Misty had singing ragdoll, but we know all that only thing drilling my mind is two type 5 demo the DoD demo no traps not even a U-Man just HL2 playermodel and the latest with the Hi-Guy demo why did U-Man took his time why the radio?

That CT really has the right mind to how to escape it, but with no luck.
Small tip: You can change the map's file extension to .zip in order to extract a map's packed assets. You can put the assets into a vpk file to make them appear in Hammer.
The animations aren't delayed if you use kill then play the type 5 afterwards, when the "player" falls through the ground, they have no model after they land. With fullbright you can see the second player model near the window before the first "player" gets attacked by the head.

I think that the head that attacked the CT was the same Npc from the Cs source demo and had been turned into that to hunt down more dynamic Npcs.

Like someone else said in the comments, i think the black head could be related to the skynet face recreation video that eida uploaded. They both certainly have that uncanny feeling. I wonder how that CS:go player texures have to do with that?
I'm surprised that nobody's pointed out that the hell face seems to be using the same Facemorph generation as that one Eida video. Also, they seem to be getting more sadistic. The face thing is new obviously, but also the trolling of using the Black Mesa intercom voice?

about the vox voice thing.. to me it sounds more like the tf2 beta announcer voice, yk, the one where the person goes, "10 seconds in the mission" and all that, theres a beta version which sounds alot like the voice which was played at the end of the type 5

Wait, the outcome of the attack looked different similar to the Scout crasher attack, are these undefined creatures similar to the crashers?
I like to think that the giant heads are generated and leftovers of that Facial recreator that FSKY advertised, as they seem really fucking similar, but most likely using salvaged and repurposed textures to make there faces/heads (Hence why the Terrorists skin is being used as a mouth/teeth by the head, while the eyes seem to be cut out from a existing texture) kzread.info/dash/bejne/hKOpl5lwYMrbcdo.html
What if you try to inspect the model of these heads in model viewer? Maybe names of some bones or textures in this model contain some kind of hint about what's going on? I suppose it's possible since you can see models of these in-game.

The thing is, you can see these models in-game, but they're not stored in the game files.
I think csgo has WAY DIFFERENT sound files Edit: try adding the file that "that" model uses, he may not be an umbrella man after all

Two things, the triggers are probably source trying to "reenact it", and the laggy affect could be resolved in Gmod, maybe
i saw that you deleted the post so im going to tell you agin so you can see it: the sfm demos are renamed files of sfm projects (i forgot the file type)
Thought i would help with the Source Filmmaker stuff... they are actually aren't SFM stuff, in fact its other games entirely the half life 2 beta, the original stanley parable, hell even postal 3 (didnt even know that game was on source but man it sucks)

This head thing is emitting bell chime sounds and has the same pitch black texture as the Umbrella Man. Could they be the same type of entity?
Someone please check network stack for connection to external servers during tests. And, what about sounds in these demos. Is it available in game archives?
weird, cause the demos played through watchdog used to be fine, maybe you need an even older version of Legacy CSGO??

Did you happen to find anything regarding the figure at 4:49? It could just be a throwaway model made for spookiness, but I was just curious since this demo is certainly one of the more interesting ones. Also I'm sure the giant head and Hi Guy would get along.

i think its the model for the dynamic npc, cause the dynamic npc's model was not visible even with full bright on. i think it showed up late cause the type 5 is being played through the map, not the demo file

Interloper??? 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😨😨😨😨 im 100% sure you didnt just add 2 custom models to the map, play 2 animations on them on spawn, look through 1 models eyes through the point_viewcontrol entity and force the "buildcubemaps" command into the console when the animations done. you can not scare a source engine expert
