As soon as I seen the title I knew it was the new river. I totally enjoyed this river but you just got to pay attention to the water levels. Glad you enjoyed it!

Fished New River a long time and always had great luck with a #3 Mepps with a gold blade and squirrel tail. Sounds simple but worked well. Also loved purple and blue 3'' and 4" Mr Twisters. Beautiful river to float.

Thank you for another wonderful video. Im so impressed how good you are to throw the bait. You throw in under docks and under trees, I have tried that but my proudness stops me to tell the result. At least I can say that the squirell in the tree survived. Apoligize for bad english and thank you once again. Hugs Ron Sweden

That train was very loud! Hi Kristine!! How are you? My favorite fisherwoman catching small mouth. I have never seen one at the end of my line. There’s none in my area. It’s another bucket list fish. I had a hematoma on the side of my back. I tore a muscle but didn’t know why it swelled to the size of a nerf football. By the time I ended up in an ER I was almost dead. Blood pressure 70/41 and all the levels in my blood were at or near 0.0. Just had my last nurse visit yesterday and I’m healthy again. The nurse only came 3 days a week but luckily I have a spare!! My daughter graduated nursing school and is an RN so she packed and unpacked the open wound which the dr said I could loose a cellphone in and that went on for several weeks. I’ve yet to fish 1 time this year. Good luck on your tournament I’ll be rooting for you and G. - Dave

Kristine, on the small ones. Kelly Galloup would argue I think, about drifting rivers and catching smaller fish. It frequently tells an angler where larger fish are not. And yet, as he would argue. A lot of guides and anglers fish places were there are no fish. The fish the places that look fishy. And often don't fish the non-obvious bits of water (that no one fishes), where some larger fish are. He argues about noctural zones of fish activity (fish travel upriver a distance). And return downriver to different river areas, in daylight hours. Fish of a certain size he said, they do move. Quite a bit over a week, and then change too, between day and nights. Feeding mostly in darker hours.

I like the idea of "left handed" cast reel. Why switch hands to retreve...? Keep up the awesome videos! All my bait casters are "left handed".

I’m not sure a Hobie would be good for a class 4 rapid. Maybe if the water is low, but then it gets more technical 🧐. Did you avoid them or portage around? Definitely looks like a nice float though!

We ran them 😬 honestly I felt pretty good, that i11 sits on top of the water and surprisingly handled it better ! But yes- for class 4, i think there are better options!

@@kristinefischer2289 I was just curious since I have 20 years of white water experience.. I wouldn’t take a Hobie on any of the class 4 water I’ve been on. Maybe a class 3… but the east coast does have a different type and measure for their rapid classification than the west coast and the PNW.
