My biggest from the upper New River was a 22 inch smallmouth when I was about 18 yrs younger

Are you talking about the bike trail on the upper new river? I DON’T fish the upper new river much. This is not far down river from claytor lake dam. There is several god public landings and parks for easy access

@@swvirginiaoutdoorsman8479 Yes, I am going to fish from the bike trail that runs from Galax to Pulaski. It looks like trout in Chestnut Creek at the start in Galax. Uncertain on access to the New further on.
