Exploring a RARE Abandoned Caboose RV in Alabama- (Tiny House Train Car!)

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

We recently visited one of THE coolest places in Alabama- Leigh Acres (an event space and airbnb rental site) to host a workshop. At this hands-on building and design workshop (our next one is in VT!- see the links below) we set upon building "THE WORLD'S VERY FIRST ROBOT TREE HOUSE RENTAL!". This will soon be listed up on the Leigh Acres site once its trimmed out and decorated- stay tuned. In anywise, on this gorgeous expanse of property, aside from a rentable transforming A-frame cabin (from my design- link below), a tiny beach house, and some super cool vintage campers, we got to check out a few of Leigh's acquisitions that await an eventual makeover so as to become rentals someday, One of them was this really interesting vintage caboose. You'll see that this caboose WAS already converted into an RV at one point, but that is certainly needs to be redone and renovated in a major way. Also, all you train and railroading enthusiasts out there, you night know far more about this one than I, so please feel free to chime in down in the comments. Thanks! #leighacres #tinyhouserentals #treehouserental #abandonedexploration

that's my dream, love old railroad stuff as my Grandad worked for British Rail for over 40 years and he used to take us to work with him when we were on vacation. Remember seeing the Flying Scotsman come thru Thirsk station back in the late 1960's when it was doing it's farewell tour

I know snakes can be a great animal to rid an area of rats and mice but I have an adage, A good snake is a __________ snake. I am not a fan of snakes. More power to you Deeks showing the potential of a "tiny home remake".

Hey Deek that was a limited production RV. I remember seeing the ads for them in the 60s magazines. There was one in the Seattle area in the 90s that was set-up as a food trailer in Burlington Northern Railroad colors.

@@relaxshacksDOTcom hey Deek no worries, finding info on the old RVs is spotty at the best of times. I remember the ads in Mechanics Illustrated I think it was in the late 60s and someone on staff did a review of the unit. Yes a standard wood caboose is in the neighborhood of 10 ton and the steel ones are heaver still... not something you tow with a 3/4 ton truck.

I didn't realize the extent of Leigh Acres' involvement in the tiny house movement. I seem to remember they were hosting a yard sale event or events last year. Will they be doing so again this season?

I know this is gonna make me sound like a turd lol but srsly, most ppl who do this sort of content seem either fake af &/or have the personality of wallpaper paste. This kid, however, sparks joy in me 😁 & has thus become the 3rd?? maybe?? such creator that I have been stoked by enuff to follow. Also too, me + robots = 😍😍😍 Do it up, Deek!! 👍🏼

That is definitely nasty looking! I sure hope they have a lifetime supply of N95 masks to wear before cleaning this place up.

They'll make it awesome again- takes a TON of work, but they have done some incredible work already with a few rehabs. Yes, definitely mask-work initially
