Exploring A Haunted Abandoned MENTAL ASYLUM Lennox Castle

Hi Folks.....
This one is not for the faint hearted. today I get down into the bowels of an old abandoned mental asylum with a very shady history. one which has been long buried but not forgotten. I have tried to include as much history about Lennox Castle as possible. a very eerie place indeed!.
I hope you enjoy the adventure.
Thanks for watching

Ey-up Simon, watched it on't big tv last night - and crikey what a place!! And never mind that....Poor Jim!!!!! Ha ha ha. Not usually the biggest fan of drone footage but it's needed on places like these to get the whole gist of the building/layout. An excellent find, well done and good on you for having the balls to venture in and then up those deadly looking stairs. It's always the graffiti that freaks me out in places like these, why's it always gotta be so weird? Can they not do fluffy kittens or nice flowers?? TFS and atb Donna :) xx

Great video, solid bit of history you’ve shown us. Always find it amazing and humbling that a place that was once so important and full of human life is abandoned and left for the crows and ghosts. Nice one 👍

Thanks for watching much appreciated 👍. I agree !! So many of the incredible old places left abandoned roofs removed to avoid taxation and left for nature to reclaim. Very sad. Great to visit and explore tho. ATB 🤙 Simon

Currently yelling 'nooooo don't go in' 🤣🤣. What a place, steeped in history, beautiful architecture, eerily stunning and just a joy to be seen. Such a shame the funds and care isn't there anymore for these places. This could have been a spectacular building now had it been restored or kept. Such an interesting video, really enjoying these videos Simon it's bringing another layer to your content. Beautiful drone ariel footage. you didn't camp there then 🤣🤣. Thanks for bringing this to us xx

I live in this town and regularly walk up to the castle. the main building that's left was a baronial home to Clan Lennox, before being handed to the City of Glasgow, when it became a mental health institution. The patients were housed in separate buildings, which were demolished many years ago... this building was the nurses' home. There is definitely an eerie silence to the place. It's sad that it's been left derelict, though. Cool video 😊

I'll be checking the place out with my dowsing crystal...see if I can communicate with spirits from its past 😉 I've decided I'm going to do lots of research on the castle & hospital. I'm fasci ated by it. There are lots of documents at a local library. I took a walk up there today and went off track, in the grounds below it. Not really anything to see, but you can just make out walls, the odd pile of rubble etc. I'll also be checking out more of your videos on your channel 😁 It's great seeing other places I can potentially go see for myself

What a building! I did a bit of Googling about it afterwards and see it was a castle originally built in the 1830s. It sounds like the asylum was a dismal place. Really interesting spot to have a walk around though! 👍

I love Lennox castle , my heart goes out to all those who housed here and had their lives stolen by a system designed to supposedly help em im still the process of researching Lennox castle which could take some time to get a complete picture , the main castles function was housing nurses quarters , with the villas a little further away but no longer there , originally meant for 1200 but ended up with 1700 patients/inmates , yesterday I did a partial explore Buchanan castle drymen a well recommend visit if you haven’t been there

Buchan castle is very similar been a few times..... even housed rudolph Hess I believe (or himler can't remember). Thanks for watching
