Do you use ClickUp dependencies? If so, where have you found them most helpful?

Hi... When I change the status of a parent task to Done, I want the status of the dependent task to change from Pending to Go Ahead. Is this not possible in ClickUp?

The reason I don't find the Gantt view suitable for visualizing dependencies is that I don't populate dates on tasks. I want to see the order of the tasks, and visualize what needs to happen in what order, and be flexible on dates. But without a date populated, the gantt view doesn't show the tasks at all. What I'd really love is if Clickup added something like an option in the mind map that used arrows to show all the dependencies between tasks, and ignored dates.

When I want to create multiple connections and have them visualized in Gantt view, I temporarily select all relevant tasks and mass create a 'due date', which allows them to appear in Gantt view. Good luck!

Couldn't subtasks be organized as dependencies just nesting them as subtasks inside a main task? What's the advantage of one over the other, besides automation and 'strict' relationship? Thank you very much!

I Layla ! Thanks for this video ! I have a task 1 with a start date and a due date. I have a task 2 who start when the task one is finish. I want to put a duration of the task 2 and would like to see the task 2 begining just after the thask one with the good duration. Do you know how to do that ? Thank you so much Thomas

Hey Layla, I've basically just been beinge-watching all ofthese videos to see if ClickUp is the right personal project/task management software for me. And I tried it a few years ago and it seemed super clunky to use but I don't know if things have changed or improved since then. What do you think? Just so you can get an idea of what I would like to use it for, I'm doing a home renovation which has a lot of moving parts. I'm also wanting to do a stock journal inside something like this, but I don't know whether this would be a good option for that. Do you know if you can send over items to Google sheets and then have those options edited using clickup? Hopefully that makes sense

hey Layla, I'm new to ClickUp and trying set something up, can you help me? I would like to block every lower priority level tasks by all upper priority level tasks.. I would like to enforce all high priority tasks to be worked on first. How would I do that?

Did you switch from Clickup to Smartsuite?

We still use ClickUp as our main project management tool. There are certain areas that we have found work a bit easier on SmartSuite so we are experimenting there as well.
