I wish he sharpened it and did some tests so we could see the durability, but I feel like that would crack in half if you hit something of equal weight and strength to it. Not at all how swords are supposed to be made, which is why I think he went again sharpening it and doing tests with it.

generaly you don't make the handle and the blade as the same peice of metal, that leads to issues.

A little misleading, considering you used copper or bronze, lava is actually made by melting real rock and or Silicates (basically sand). All this was was basic casting using ready made metal

3:43 honestly I think that the sword would be better if you had pulled the foam sword out, then put the lava onto the dirts. (Haven’t seen the end yet, so it still might be good!) Keep up the good work

Nah pulling the foam out can mess with it's shape. Its better to leave it in because it melts.

Might be a tad brittle if it is not made of metal. But if it is made from metal it might be a bit too stiff too. But bravo for trying out something interesting and new.

So the short answer is yes. You can make a cast of a sword. Whether or not it's practical to use it in actual battle I can't say. Although I'm sure you could affix something made of lava into arrow heads or blunt weapon or even simple tools.
