Amazing satisfying EXPERIMENT with REAL LAVA (FROM a VOLCANO!) and the strongest FIREPROOF GLASS.
We’ve tested regular window glass and fire-resistant glass against one of the hottest substances on Earth!
☑ What is a FIREPROOF GLASS? It is a multi-layered glass, where the sheets of glass are connected by means of intermediate layers made of fire-resistant gel, which expands under high temperature. During a fire, when the temperature rises to 100°C (212 °F), the gel layers expand forming a hard, non-transparent layer, which temporarily prevents fire propagation.

Because the fire proff glass have a gelatin inside it so it can reduce the heat that lava or fire does to the glass to be spread to other place that have cooler temp

I wouldn't count on it saving my life as the lava is flowing across the yard but it is impressive. Lava is like gravity, it NEVER loses.

It's fire resistant. I don't get why people use proof and resistant interchangeably. If I was told this full body suit was fire proof, I'd wear it thinking I could walk through fire in it, but if it was only resistant I'd be injured or killed. Strange world

Not really mind blowing just science, the fire resistant glass is just normal glass with an insulation layer and then another layer of glass. It is not unlike bullet resistant glass in that the first few layers are sacrificial, and for this fire resistant glass the first layer resists as long as it can blocking as much heat as it can then fails and then the gel filling blocks the heat from getting to the final layer of glass

You should try a glass-ceramic product like 5mm PYRAN Platinum. This should pass the lava test.
I'm not surprised the fireproof glass held up. It's meant to withstand hotter temperatures than the dull orange glow the lava was emitting (~800-1000 degrees celcius.)

Great experiment. Would be more informative if you constantly monitor the temperature change of the lava upon contact with the glass panels. A fire door normally resists fire from half to an hour therefore the visual panel on the fire door shall be equally strong. Not sure how long did the glass take on the lava though.

Man I guess my ears are weird because I had to mute it. I can't listen to any asmr type stuff either though.
Problem with windows is, most are attached to something less fire resistant. Also heat is not the only concern, with lava it is the weight and force at which it is traveling
