    For aluminum and things with lower melting points( Lead Zinc((don't heat too high with zinc!!))at the very least I can confirm that this build will work for an intermediate+ build. I've had success with beginner builds involving plaster of Paris+concrete+steel wool. The crucible they are using is superb compared to my steel diy one. Also I used lump charcoal+hairdryer build, but propane is gonna be better in terms of cleanup and fuel replenishment (granted that propane has more preparation requirements, but is easier to regulate). Happy melting to all and A++ on vid! I really enjoyed it! ALSO!!! ***SAFETY SAFETY SAFETY***!!! HEAT YOUR GRAPHITE AND Metal MOLDS TO AVOID STEAM EXPLOSIONS. Also from experience, slow down when dealing with these temps! I've several burns from my own amateur mistakes (Grabbing hot objects, splashes, etc...) This is a FUN hobby, but despite all precautions: mistakes will be made. Take as many precautions as possible to minimize injury as they can.result in SEVERE TRAUMA. That being said, this is the most enjoyable hobby I've ever had and well worth the time, research and investment. Do your research and enjoy the fruits of your labor! Wear appropriate respirators!

    I mean I've got nothing to say against the kiln making and using, but with such a bad cast at the end you may as well just use an ingot and grind it down from there. could have put a little bit more effort into that one.

  • @ExarchGaming

    @ExarchGaming

    2 жыл бұрын

    are you insane? lol no you can't use a heat gun or a blow-dryer to melt... a heat gun gets to like 800-1000F max, to melt aluminum, which has the lowest melting point of all production type metals, requires 1220F(660C) minimum. Brass requires 1810-1880F (990-1025C) Copper requires 1983F(1084C) to melt iron is even higher, needing almost 3000F (around 1600C) Titanium requires the highest of those 3040 F (1670 C) you can't even get close to melting anything useful out of a heat gun, a blowdryer is far far far weaker than even that. lol People sometimes use a blowdryer to force air in, in addition with the propane or natural gas) but it can't melt anything metal at those low of temps.

  • @meatrocket9812

    Too funny 😂🤣.. hairdryer...the heat gun has possibilities.,. I'd imagine it as the interior and you'd have to build a furnace around it to contain the heat...I bought an electric metal melting furnace and it's basically heat coils wrapped around ceramic surrounded by insulation and then metal ...so a heat gun isn't so crazy sounding
