On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8.

is it mentally insane if you keep shooting at the enemy plane even though is doing the death Spyro and missing a wing
Ahhh yes, WW1 dogfights, where planes were made of papier-mâché lightly soaked with fuel and the pilots were only slightly less flammable...👍👍

The pilot screaming when he’s set on fire is kinda terrifying. Amazing work GS, mad lad with an awesome content upload schedule! Thanks for all the hard work you put into these videos.

@@GrowlingSidewinder Please man... Look, I love the one circle catfights in the F-14, the awesome BF-109 action, and the SEAD work in the Apache... But nothing brings home the visceral nature of true air to air combat like flying an armed kite up someone's six o'clock, and shattering the cockpit with twin MG's. The screams are both haunting and somehow mesmerizing. But more than anything, it's an almost beautiful ballet of death, almost more of an art form than a science. Hands down some of the best content on the internet. You bring us along and make it feel like we're there in the sky. Keep it up, GS...

@@GrowlingSidewinder YES please:) that and ww2 content as well as much as i enjoy bvr, stealth tactics and fast modern dogfights with missiles and aiming computers, the dogfights of the past have something visceral to them. like you said, the insanity of flying a canvas and wooden kite to shoot at other people, and a few decades later full metal planes but still pretty much the same.. machine guns and flying skills. i love it so much
Impressive how we went from this to planes like a F35 or F22 in such a short time
These fights take “up close and personal” to a whole new level.

I wonder how crazy it must have been when the planes weren't outfitted with machine guns and the pilots would have to use pistols and rifles/shotguns from the cockpit in order to engage other spotter planes.

You might not see this, but you're a huge insperation for me. I wanna start with DCS but i think it's to complicated for me. My grate grate grandfather was a fighter pilot in ww1 and flew a bit in ww2 and then he went to train polish pilots. His son was a navigator on bombers and in one mission he flew the plane back himself after a 109 crashed in to the nose taking put the front gunner and injuring the pilot.

Exacting his revenge while he still has some seconds left.. Just he could die without holding a grudge...
I like how your plane got into a spin. Many pilots died in that era from spins until much later when they finally worked put how to recover.
Those tail gunners really gave you some trouble. I'd love to see some coop missions where you both go out in one of those heavy fighters and see how much damage you can do AS a tail gunner!
Thanks to you, I finally convinced my dad to let me buy a flight setup to play dcs. Last year was quite shitty and you inspired me and brought back my passion of flying aircraft. Keep up the super fun videos man!
The first plane you set ablaze I swore I heard screams... The when you set the 2nd plane on fire at a closer range I knew I heard screams, brutal!

Historically, they barely overlapped. Although the Fokker triplane was coming online around the time the Sopwith triplane was getting phased out, I don' think they were ever at the same sector at the same time.
*Guy burns alive from the flaming explosion of his fighter plane's engine* Sidewinder: aww, my propeller! 😣 😂😂
Hi side beam attack is the way to deal with 2 seat fighters. Low side from rear aspect is also good but exposes you to ground fire and superior moves from defending fighters with height and speed advantage. This is where you get to use your mental trig skills in deflection shooting :)
"Just the absurdity of this whole situation" An ape that can talk and wears clothes has had a flying machine built, and put guns on it, and is using it to kill another ape that can talk and has built himself a flying machine from another thing called a different 'nation state'. He talks a different way. If they met under different circumstances though they would probably enjoy hanging out and having a beer and a meal together. Later on, another ape that can talk and wears clothes is using a 'computer' to simulate the act of killing using these weird machines. This is entertainment.
Hi GS, absolutely enjoy your WW1 content. It shows your raw pilot prowess without relying on missiles or the like. Please show more WW1 stuff. Love it!
These are great fun - more of these please!
WW1 planes cockpits were so hot, the pilot had a small fan to keep him cool :-D
I've always been fascinated by this era of air combat. Partially because of how much of a death trap some of these aircraft were.
VR videos are my absolute favorites, the main reason I subscribed. And now I'm not 100% sure but it feels like you raised the visual quality somehow...keep sending more :)
This was a surprise to watch only ever thought Sopwith triplanes were equipped with only one Vickers machine-gun, yet I've just found out there was actually a limited production of 6 triplanes that had two Vickers equipped manufactured by Clayton & Shuttleworth industry
Good vid. Try using the blip switch when you’re overshooting. It will cut the rotary engine for as long as you hold it, and so long as you don’t hold it for more than a few seconds you won’t kill the engine. You can also use the blip to slow yourself when diving to protect from over revving
Awesome video, especially the night battles, they just look incredible 👏😲
Amazing content from you as usual. Keep up the phenomenal work my friend, GS! I well enjoyed this one 😂!
I love these and WW2 videos, keep sprinkling them into the content rotation please!
really enjoyed this one. thank you.
"Growling Sidewinder Unilaterally Fights the Kaiser: A Love Story..."
This was SOOOoooo damn cool!!!! I was already subscribed but I hit the BELL for this one. I used to fly RC planes and my favorites were the old WWI and WWII planes. As you know, it's different from a jet. My all time favorite is the Vought F4U Corsair. I would LOVE to see you play around with that vs a Zero. Awesome flight my friend!!!!
Dude! That bounce at the end as you hit the earth and rebounded! That was epic!
i love your genuine dislay of emotion at the prospect of a foe on fire, plummeting to his death. " Oh, no, he's going to have a bad day"
Friendly reminder that these planes were only 10-15 years removed from the Wright Flyer.
7:30 was the funniest part. I did not expect the pilot to scream like that🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ernst Udet wrote of one combat where one of his fellow pilots, a Lt Hannisch, went down in flames. Udet described seeing him sitting upright amid the flames and he slowly raised his hand to his head. Udet wasn’t sure whether it was just a reaction to being burnt alive or whether he was saluting!
YAS! This is what I was waiting for!
Love these vintage battles!
I like this better than jet fighters - Rockets would be cool tho.
this is what I've been waiting for!
"Kite with two machine guns strapped to it." Bravo good sir. Have an upvote.
Baron Von Growling!
Love your vids by the way. I play Rise of Flight, and I've noticed the best tactic for attacking anyone with a tail gunner is definitely six low. Usually worked out fairly well.
Your laugh and enjoyment 👍😈 2:09 "Yeah he's gone, that guy is no longer with us"
Dogfighting in ww1 is so cinematic especially in VR
*Please* do a full length night time one. that is so incredibly immersive looking I think it would translate really well to a full fight. don't any of your friends have this?
If you're flying towards the sun you're a "not-see".
1:44 the screaming is like whaaaaa…….????
Great fight Growler! Love watching your vids, and watching you fly But lesson learned....Never get greedy. When your engine got hit....beat feet for the safety of your line (Friendly territory)
Great start to the weekend- GS flying wood and wire.
Great video!
Wait when the plane got in flame he scream. damn. Nice vid.
The screams of the pilot and tailgunner just add another level of brutality to an already brutal battle...
MORE OF THIS PLEEEEEEAAAAAAASE ITS SO GOOD
When that Albatros driver screamed in the flame . . . daaaamn. The WW1 videos are my favorite just for how visceral they are.
i love the IL-2 vr stuff! my computer isn’t good enough to run dcs in vr but IL-2 works pretty well so that and vtol vr are all i play atm
Great vid GS. Please do more WW1/WW2 stuff.
more those please, that was great dogfighting
I love these battles. The first air combat movie I saw as kid was "The Blue Max". Though I prefer WWII Warbirds, those kites with MGs still are special.
Love your vids and you have inspired me to play dcs
I'd love to see more of this as an actual intercept, or mission.
Love these WW1 dogfights! Please, Sir. May I have some more?
yay! thank you!
I love these and WWII fights; something special about them
I want to see this in upcoming episodes... it was awesome
flying these things is nuts fighting in them seems positively insane
The pilots screaming in agony when the flames erupt....scary!
Oh man, that kill close range on the plane with the tail gunner, you can practically see the rear gunners flesh melting off xD
Always fun these WW1 fights
The guy yelling at 7:32 😂 Poor bastard.
Buried with full military honors. To our gallant and worthy foe, The Growling Baron.
OMG @ 1:46 You can actually hear the screaming of the other pilot being burned. ≈^0
Ive missed the ww1 dogfights so much 😍
WW1 in VR is the most interesting thing in VR or flight sims right now. Visceral & instructive
IL2 and the damage model they brought from RoF is just freakishly awesome both in the WW1 and WW2 settings
Oh dude.... that midair, aaand THAT BOUNCE!🤣
that looks insane mate
Its crazy how well that Pup turns. Out turning even the chap Dr.1
Fearsome combat in the air!
"Fox, fox, fox" and there goes the poor animal out the cockpit...
That Looks Fun ! !
You got great air on the dismount.
Gotta love the screams when they burn LOL
Hahaha I have never seen a plane hit vertically and bounce fifty feet in the air... Awesome!
@jefftheriault5522
2 жыл бұрын
That's not something these planes did. The engine might bounce on frozen ground, or a cobblestone street, but the aircraft structure becomes a tangled heap with an unpleasant surprise within. There are also reports of pilot and observer doing a bounce. I remember reading an account of a Bristol two seater doing a loop over the home field after a mission. Wings folded, and the crew were ejected, and bounced once right to the feet of a bunch of people in formation for some event or other.
WWI aircraft in IL-2 with the Pimax 8KX is just... something else. An insanely cool experience.
That collision at the end, though.
The scream at 1:45 is absolutely terror material
@10:28 - “ I be flying these naked cause the wind be hittin’ my balls n shit …… aye watch yo biplane bro …. watch yo biplane bro …. WATCH YO BIPLANE !!! “
Please do more videos like this, or even ww2 aircraft. You are a badass gunslinger man, although jets you do well, you are a straight up sniper in the sky with guns lol. Pretty entertaining
The WW1 VR videos are your best videos.
Really love WWI dogfight content!
Thanks for everything bro.love from Kashmir.
The screaming was hilarious..... sounded just like you at the end there....... oh wait. lol
I really enjoy the WW1stuff too.

Hey GS - Nice bounce at the end.
