Fun fact! The way the ‘Al Pastor’ meat was prepared does come from Middle Eastern culture! Lebanese immigrants created those tacos, adapted to the local ingredients in the 1930s near Mexico City. In some places they are called ‘tacos árabes.’ 👍 Those fajitas did look very sad. 😔🤣

Some of the worst meals I have ever eaten have been at US airports, notably in LA and Boston (where staff were beautifully rude). In JFK Intl’s food hall my son went for a limp pizza, my daughter for an apology of a Chinese meal and I went to the bathroom to revisit my breakfast. Feel for you Sonny. On the other hand, great fish & chips at Leeds Bradford in the UK.

Why would you go to a taco bell for mexican food in the United States? Obviously what he ate looks absolutely amazing, and the price is incredible too, but you don't have to disparage United States options to appreciate Mexican's street food culture. My family is originally from Aguascaliente and as a wee one, my family would have family reunions every other year in Central Mexico. As a teenager in the 80s we had our reunion in the capital. We walked all over the central food district (that's what my tía called it), ate way too much & got sick. It was one of the best days of my life. About 10 yrs later, another reunion in Mexico City and there was an incredible seafood market in the desert. I ate too much, drank too much tequila transported by burros and was sick. That became the best day of my life. Since then I had a kick as son (what up Augs! 🤘🏼), met the love if my life, moved to rural Wisconsin and have a career I love. So many great days since then but watching your trip to the biggest city in the western hemisphere has brought back great memories of my Mexican and Aztec heritage. I can't wait til I bring my kid to beautiful Mexico City. Mad respect and manners to Sonny and the crew. 🤘🏼

Don't put your key card close to your phone. Some places have key cards that somehow got reset when it's placed above/below your phone

Sonny, thanks for the information on where not to eat and where to eat when visiting Mexico City. No business class for me, Coach may even provide better food than a dry turkey sandwich. And no airport food, I dont like expensive things, I find that the food for the regular people is usually heads above the rest.. Always look for long lines and crowded eateries.

I usually just eat my fill outside of the airport or just buy a decent meal off a chain restaurant in the airport if you don't have time(I don't like airplane food at all). Never go to the fancy restaurants in the airport, 90% of the time it's a waste of time and money.
