Expand Your Identity | The Tony Robbins Podcast (feat. Sage Robbins and Mary B.)

00:In this special VIDEO episode of The Tony Robbins Podcast, you’ll hear from Tony Robbins, his wife Sage Robbins, and podcast host Mary B., as they discuss the most important tool for creating lasting change: IDENTITY.
Have you ever asked yourself, why did I try to make a change but not succeed? Often, it’s “how” we define ourselves that can lead to either our success or stagnation.
As Tony notes, “The most powerful force in the human personality is the need to stay consistent with how we define ourselves.” In fact, after 45 years of working with people in 195 countries - from the most successful to the most challenged - Tony believes that the single most important element in understanding what drives a person is to understand how they identify themselves.
Identity is simply the culmination of the beliefs that shape how we perceive ourselves. These beliefs control how we think, feel and interact with the world around us. They also influence what we decide to do (and not do) in our own lives. Therefore, as Sage Robbins explains, what we put after “I am” is something we must always be mindful of.
By the end of this conversation, we hope you’ll have the tools and inspiration to update - and upgrade - your own sense of identity. Maybe it’s time to expand it as you move toward a life of growth. Or perhaps remove some of those labels that might be limiting you.

Our first seminar was in 2003 In Germany in Düsseldorf, we met you behind the stage after our donation to the foundation. We are still donating every month, helped at the basket brigade and completed Mastery University and Leadership Mastery with the whole family ! Including our two sons Samuel and Raphael. We immigrated to Florida Jupiter, our dream come through and Last UPW in Palm Beach we volunteered as well with both sons and it was so much fun ! Thank you, Tony and Sage, you transformed our life with your work! I used to have narcolepsy, catalepsy, and burnout and needed to break some family patterns of that I could be Healthy, Wealthy, and have Happy Love marriage despite the fact that my parents did not have any of it. And today I can say from my own experience that It is all possible and we are happily married for 32 years. You have been and are still our mentors as you set an example for what is possible and always raise your standards, which I strive to do too. Thank you ! Love has no Limits it is a journey.

42:00 When I was young my dad had a stroke, he lost some of memories from this. He was/is still my father. Who we are? 🤔 I think we are the one that filters our experience through how we cultivate our perception. We can deliberately cultivate that perception, or run the program we were given while our environment was raising us from childhood.

I found this beautiful and beneficial. After attending the recent Time to Rise Summit, I found the identity conversation challenging. Having attended some deep, spiritual teachings, I had come to completely dissolve the old identity and embraced oneness. Although deeply rewarding, it also leaves the physical self fluttering around with no guidance. Toni mentioned an identity crisis and that described me exactly. I really appreciate this open, expensive conversation on the subject.🙏🏻💕✨

When Sage shared about her daughter swimming i became clear that I do” things…I am swimming…I am cleaning..I am cooking…I am enjoying this or that, I am feeling, experiencing this or that…I am thinking this or that, etc. ” I am” is the common denominator. It feels truer stating “I AM!”instead of asking the question “WHO am I? “ Popeye said it all: I am that I am and that’s all that I am! “ 💕💕🙏💕💕 With love and gratitude 💕💕🤟💕💕

Sage is speaking on how the process of dropping expectations of husband /wife has taken place .... it's a beautiful process even if a difficult one .... my life experiences have shown that JUST THAT alone is a huge blessing. Most couples don't come together with mates that are willing to have meaningful reflection on relationships nor have a conversation... so if I as a woman want to explore my ever changing identity, I'm left to do it alone and perhaps not heard by my closest people in my circle......

Energy, beliefs and values are my takeaways from UPW. Lifeforce was my eye opening moment of me delaying "taking care of myself" Knowledge is always fluid (potential) and it's up to me to take it (action), shift it (change) from the matrix into this realm (kinetic). There is a FINE line between what you are told and what YOU experience. The way I can best identify myself since I'm against being "niched boxed and labeled" is: I am, I am human, I am love, I am Earth. I hope it breaks down the lack of trust so that people will just SEE me and experience me organically and minimize the lens of distorted programs. When their eyes widen and silence sets in, I know we have made progress. It is a harmonious feeling I respect so much.

When I travelled nobody cared if I was married or not what car I drive what clothes I’m wearing…I want my daughter and I to experience that expansiveness , curiosity, love 🧡 together next time we travel ❤ ❤peace &light

Then have experiences that stack so that you know it’s true. And then from that expanded perspective, more of your heart, your soul, your spirit and your ability comes out. Also, loved the candid conversation at the end with Tony and Sage interacting…great to see behind the scenes communication!

Thanks to the three of you for an amazing and much needed podcast. The beautiful thing that my awakening taught me was that I am everything. The force that is in us all. The one that is pure awareness of our reality. It’s the same force that is in all living things. It’s a beautiful thing to realize that we aren’t our religion, political party, occupation or even our name or last name. We just are. When we just are is when the magic can happen. Just my experience. Thanks guys ❤

Did Mary just correct Sage and say she shouldn’t say “God blessed her with Tony Robbins (a good husband) “ to Universe blessed Sage ? Be Blessed Sage ! Blessed by God is Right as a believer in Christ. God is life and God is light. Don’t negotiate it’s authentic 🙌

I am all things and it’s opposite , I can embody any and all qualities at any time then the opposite of them and even hold opposing qualities At the same time , There is no I am this or I am that Cuz anything I put after I am , limits me in some way ! So I just am ! Everything else are just qualities I might express not a definition of the me expressing them

I feel you Mary B. I think Sage just held onto the Tom boy wearing the dress initially when you were talking about wanting to be free and not linked up to people that you once knew. I feel that way now. Wanting to be free of all that I have known because I don’t want to be in a box and I want to allow my true self out and start anew. ❤️❤️❤️

I was in critical condition for 18 months and when I started to come out into the world again I was changed and trying to fit back in with anyone that I use to know was just not possible. I was just a different person .
