Exo said in a recent ihearteadio interview that they feel more at ease now and they don't care about awards or anything, which only brought them stress. I'm glad they know their worth and they r happier now. They don't waste their mental health on award seasons which r very toxic and stressful. I cried again. I remember how hurtful it was. Honestly, EXOLs are the one who pushed MN3t to check their voting system because we speculated that there are illegal votes. We called them to check suspicious votes and we successfully did it as other fandom uses illegal votes to make on top. So you cannot say that SM payed MNET because EXO doesnt lose much votes after cleaning the system as EXOLs are the one who take the initiative of making investigations. That time, we are the one who are leading in EVERYTHING. Votings, digital sales and physical sales. But we dont win anything, is hurts like hell. I remember crying so much while watching the livestream. I remember seeing tweets of my co Exol and all us are devastated. That Best Asian Award is definitely for EXO. it is based on tweets, we have 11 million tweets while the second group has 8Million. This number of tweets was shown in thr Mama big screen but the second group won that award. But what is more hurtful is EXOLs being hurt and EXO being aware on it. The pain again came back. After that night, all EXO fanbases made a promise not to vote again. Thats why now, we are having a hard time regaining our power in voting because many EXOLs does not wanted to participate. But girl, this is only MAMA. There are also a lot of other voting awards who cheated us. Example is in GDA, they manipulated our sales. We pointed them out for this but they denied, after a year, they made a public apology to EXO and EXOLs of manipulating EXO's sales for us not to win any awards. Like hell. I am so mad

Just to add in this video boo, Chanyeol cried the most for he participate a lot in "the war" album which he feels he didn't did well on doing music that's why exo did not won a lot of awards that night (which is totally not true) but chanyeol really felt that it is his fault that's why i feel sorry for him that night.

The takeaway from this is that the exos spent the next awards shows having a great time filming a reality show together in Hawaii and then for New Years this year spending it with their fans at an EXO concert instead of at the Gayos. This year has been a great time for EXO frankly talking in their interviews about their mental health, being over the stress of awards, and prioritizing their happiness. And we are very proud of them working hard to achieve those goals.

Seeing these videos makes me remember that day. My Korean friend got us two seats for the 2017 MNET awards. I was ready to see exo win but after seeing so much disrespect. My friend told me we should just leave. We try to leave and guards came to stop us from leaving. My friend got pushed by another guard and when I try to grab my friend so that we can get out together. Another guard try to grab me down so hard that I fell and my leg started bleeding. I had to go to the hospital after this mess.

Aimee Rodriguez It makes me mad till this day! Not many exols reported on it but I wasn't the only one who got injured to point of bleeding! Two other girls got in the cab with us to the hospital. One of them fainted at the sight of blood. Luckily we got there safely and everyone got treated. I could only touch my phone. My friend was crying. I've never seen this girl cry before. MNET really piss me off. Exo and exols plus the other fans that also got hurt did not deserve this. :/ We even started a petition and yet so many people were against us saying we're just mad exo didn't get the awards. Thanks for reacting to this video. I only wish more people would see it and understand what happened.

The artist interactions and performances used to be the best part of awards. But awards shows these days have so many issues with unfairness and favoritism towards certain artists, or changing criteria last minute. It takes all the enjoyment out of it. Also, YG and SM performances were some of the best. Now they're not even there. I'm glad EXO doesn't think awards are important now- they think happiness is.

PREACH!!! Let the teeny bopper fandoms rave about how many daesangs their favs get. My favs already have enough, they slayed all the records, and will always be kings, they don't need fake-ass award shows with hideous awards, to tell them how great they are.

All of this problem was beginning in 2008 when mnet asked SM to become their distributor to promote SM’s artists. At that time mnet have already held 3 big companies of music in Korea like JYP ENT, YG ENT, and DSP ENT, and if SM also decided to join, mnet will become the biggest distributor for music programs. BUT as you know SM rejected that request because SM was confident in promoting their artists. And from that day Mnet was boycotting every SM’s artist song, like in other music show SM’s artists like Girls Generation’s Gee was winning in every music chart exception for mnet. Relationships between SM and Mnet get better, I think when 2011-2012 because all of the SM artists were performing in a mnet music show but in 2015 mnet, was being naughty again for like can’t do the voting for EXO. And it's becoming the worst case in 2017.

Im a exol i spent a lot of time to vote to win my idol in ALL categories were chill'n because we knows exo is no. 1. They win 1 awrds AOTY that is ? how about Artist? Some exol plann to go in award show to support EXO. they spent a lot of time and money to go there what the reason about the lightstick ? We expect exo win a lot of awards but in the end they receive 1 awards. exo deserve more awards because of hardworking even they tired. Honestly you represent all my feelings! I remember when those news came out that day... I-EXO-L were so angry and worried about K-EXO-L and EXO at the same time. On top of that antis came at EXO like rats... Suho saying, that he knows what's going on after, was so crushing as well.

I remember waking up early to see the stream and later being met with videos and photos of ExoLs being thrown to the ground and crushed by the stands. It was so painful to see Exo's reactions to all the garbage MN3T threw at them. I remember spending at least an hour to vote every single day, I can't imagine how much more upset and hurt other ExoLs were who devoted even more time to this shit show. MN3T were really just openly disrespecting Exo and ExoLs. On LIVE TV we saw Exo in the lead yet they still lost that award. The amount of shit we got from other fandoms were crazy. No, I am not saying everyone was against us, but it still happened. We were told we being over dramatic, being told to "let it go because Exo has already had their time", that were "scared" of being knocked down the pedestal. Exo worked their asses off for their success, just as much as any other group, yet they were mistreated at SO many award shows. Hearing stuff like that from other fandoms was like being beaten when we were already down. I can't say for everyone but after this day you'd think that fans would stay to comfort each other and their idols. but I remember seeing a quite a bit of people leaving the fandom since they couldn't stand to see Exo get hurt anymore. Plus, if Exo was "so embarrassed" about 'losing' awards (more like cheated), they wouldn't have openly told ExoLs to support their 'competitors', Suho wouldn't have thanked every group for showing great performances. Where is that egoistic behavior Exo supposedly has? Cause I just don't see it, I never have and never will.

And about sm buying the award for exo? this will be the last thing that will enter to EXOL's mind, for Sm is the #1 anti of EXO😂 SM is not even promoting EXO well, being vocal even after EXO debuted on saying that EXO is a mistake that their company did. SM will not waste any $ on EXO even if EXO produced a lot of money for SM.

OK. SM never said EXO was a mistake. EXO's concept is Lee Soo Man's baby, and the group made SM millions/billions of dollars. SM doesn't treat their artists the best, sure, but the company isn't the cesspool of evil everyone makes it out to be. Their artists gets solos, they encourage sub-units, they make sure their artists have access to the BEST vocal coaches money can buy, and they retain their talent. BoA is celebrating her 20th year with SM. And they are honoring her in a big way. So get off your high horse about SM hating EXO. EXO SC just had their comeback and there were 4 MV's with that comeback. So how is SM not spending any money on EXO?

Exactly. They sure changed their tune on that ridiculously fast. If they feel that way, then why do they even allow voting to be main criteria for winning awards?! Obviously the biggest fandom is going to win all the awards! Tsk. Such a stupid, stupid hypocritical show and company.

Recuerdo que estaba viendo transmisiones en vivo de fans en ese momento, fue horrible. Muchas llegaron a grabar cuando el staff de Mnet las perseguían para retenerlas y las empujaban con esos barandales. Muchas fans mostraron las heridas con las que terminaron esa noche, y solo escuchar en vivo todos los gritos y llantos me hacía sentir tan impotente, las empujaban como si fueran cualquier cosa, las arrastraban y les gritaban que volvieran a ingresar. Nadie tiene el derecho de tratar así a alguien. Luego las imágenes fueron retiradas, se dijo que fue porque al parecer se estaba tomando acciones legales.

Absolutely. Because Mnet said they didn't want all the awards to go to one group in 2017, but then in 2019 all the daesangs went to BTS. And their fandom sits and throws that in other fandoms faces like sweeping the MAMA's makes them the best group ever. Well, not really. Not when the reason they were able to do that was simply because BigHit has it's lips attached to Mnet's @ss. How is it even an award show when the parasitic company that runs it, gives the awards to whomever they like and those they don't like they find excuses to steal their awards?

Exo dominated all votings that year but they gave our daesangs to other groups even rookies🤧i litterally cried watching it because of anger they gave exo only one award put of 7 or 8 awards which we won all, they didnt give them enough time to perform, they should've put exo the last to perform but even some rookie groups perfprmed after exo and they harrased exols who wanted to leave the arena
