Exercises for Chronic Pain // Stretch, Strengthen & Feel Relief

Ease stiffness, and feel relief from chronic conditions causing your pain such as arthritis and fibromyalgia. In this gentle joint video I will walk you through exercises that will gently strengthen and stretch common troublesome areas.
This workout begins with a warm up in a standing position, then half way through we move to a seated position in a chair. If you are only able to complete the seated portion, then just simply fast forward to that section (about the 15 min mark).
Please make sure that you are in a warm environment. This will make sure that your muscles relax and don't cramp up. It is also important to stay hydrated. Drinking water will help lubricate your joints.

Hey I’m 18 too and also dealing with chronic pain for an unknown reason! Although mine hasnt been for 10 years! Only 2. Have you gone to many doctors about it?

Sorry your so young to have chronic pain, glad this is helping you. I didn’t know what was causing my chronic pain, I had many tests, it turned out to be fibromyalgia. Has that ever been mentioned to you ? Take care 💕

Hello,take gluten for a month to see what happens.it took my pain away, and also I took magnesium citrate,or bisglicinate, it helps a lot.

I made a comment to you before, what I meant is stop eating gluten( bread, pasta, soya with gluten, cookies) anything that has gluten on it for a month, and you could see if the muscle or body pain gets better. If this improve, you could have food sensitivities to gluten. I hope you get better.
This is exactly what I needed! Please more of these on chronic pain.

Youre the best at what you do. While its a bit embarrassing I am 34 and I benefit from your workouts. Even though my buddies think Im doing “old lady workouts”, I can live with my body feeling good and them being tough guys feeling like garbage.

In my 50's and been struggling with gradually increasing pain throughout my body for the last 7 years despite my best efforts at taking care of my health. Thanks for the stretches! I have a 60-lb pain in the neck - my dog, who’s recovering from surgery (she’s doing well) and escaping from her cone of shame (she’s driving me crazy). We walk once or twice a day, but your stretches do what our walks don’t. Wish me luck with the Neosporin. :P

I'm only 33 but have had chronic illness and pain my whole life. This was very helpful, as lots of these my physiotherapist already showed me, so it's nice to have some company while doing it now that I do them at home :) I struggle with motivation as I'm always in some pain, but it does help to mitigate some of it! Currently I can't do them all in one go, but hopefully eventually.

My husband has had a chest cold/flu & now I’m starting to feel poorly. Have not missed a workout day since starting 2023 & aiming for 365 days. This was just what I needed today. Just enough but not too much. Thankful for all the options you give. I also do p90x & am an avid hiker. Love your channel for the days when I feel like a senior. I loved this for a session first thing in the morning. I also enjoy your 30 minute chair yoga session for that purpose. Workouts similar to those are just what my arthritic body needs to get moving. I enjoy the cardio and strength routines in the afternoon. I’m so glad I found you a couple of weeks ago!

This was a great, gentle workout to do after I "overdid" on spring cleaning the prior day. The background music was so soothing. I did this workout in the morning to get stretched and loosened up for the day ahead. There was also a gentle rain this morning which made the entire workout AMAZING (calming music and the sound of the rain). Thank you for all of your videos. I'm NEVER bored with the variety you provide.

Day 65, with the rain came a Fibro attack so I finally got to do your pain relief video. Stretching feels so so good. I will do some of the chair exercises with my 92 year old Mum too, especially on days when I cannot go walking with her because of bad weather. Thank you. Lauren

Rosie that’s so interesting my fibro attacks come on with change of weather too. I thought am I imaging this ? I’m holidaying in a different State, it’s warmer here, my pain had really improved, then the weather changed to rain and being cooler, this kicked my pain in. 🤷♀️

@@wendyhannan2454 Absolutely, Wendy. Whenever I was in a warm, dry climate the pain was much better.No attacks, in the morning I could get up better, move better. Rainy, cold dampness is so detrimental, but often there is no choice.
This felt great on my lower back where I sometimes experience sciatic pain. Thank you!

I just want to thank you for all your videos. I am not a senior, however, I have several health problems that have made it difficult for me to work out the way I used to. I love the pace of your workouts and how you let us know where we should be feeling it. I have slight scoliosis and so some of the moves I just can't do, like keeping my heels together and lifting my legs.....oooh that is tough for me. But I love that you give alternative moves too. Please keep it up. I haven't done all your videos, but I'm making my way through many of them. Thanks again.

I just stumbled onto your channel and did the strength training video. It was a great intro into your style. I'm 63 and have knee pain issue (from pickleball) that I'm working on so doing a modified version, but want to focus on strength training my upper body. I love the piano music you use for your workouts! You set a very relaxing mood with your music and background (and your smile!). I am a senior and have been doing P90X for many years. Lots of moves are the same, but arthritis in my hands and wrists makes it painful to do yoga and pushups the traditional way. You offer alternatives using the same muscles and not getting on the floor. Now I alternate between your videos and P90X. Sometimes I wish your videos were longer, but I've learned to combine routines to get my 45 minutes done. Thank you!

Loved that. I did a seated cardio first (I have back, knee and hip issues) and this was a lovely stretch and cool down after it. Had to push myself on a few hip stretches but feel much better for it. Thank you Lauren x

Hello Thankyou for these 2 videos. I started off with the chair only then added in this half standing . I'm improving very slowly. I'm 80 and have had a fully fused left hip since early. Childhood. It makes some movements impossible but I improvise. I've done yoga when younger but always with limitations. Now I'm 80 I'm relying on your chair yoga to keep walking. Yours is the best Thankyou
