Das Leben der Maria Mandl (The Life of Maria Mandl) is a crime documentary about Maria Mandl, who sent 500,000 women to their deaths-and loved every minute of it.
Maria Mandl was a violent female guard who rose the ranks at the infamous Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz. She was known for her quick temper, cruel punishments, and ruthless beatings, all of which earned her the nickname "The Beast." While she would eventually pay for her crime against the thousands of Jewish prisoners under her control, those who survived are still haunted by the memory of Maria "The Beast" Mandl.
Produced by David Neumayr and Christian Strasser, this documentary film speaks about the participation of women as perpetrators in the Holocaust and how we deal with it. It also explores the life of Mandl and shows how heavy the amount of memory lies on Mandl's relatives, friends-and on her victims the former inmates. Please share, like and tell what us you think. Be mindful while leaving a comment.

The further shame is when the District Court in Mandls home town tried to re-write history and make her out to be a victim that was interned in the concentration camp. Just disgusting. It is these very actions that shows how people have not learnt anything from this disgusting war. Mandl was completely delusional in her writings, making out everything was good and they hardly touched the prisoners. At least she admitted during the trial that she signed more of those prison lists than anyone else. Maybe she had begun to understand the harm and pain she caused! But I cannot believe that her understanding went very deep.

Just as things are TODAY, career POC criminals who chose their own paths and make their own bad choices are suddenly victims of society's evil whites who wake up planning bad and evil things for them or blame what happened 300 years ago for their current position in life ALL while their victims and the heinous crimes they willfully committed are quickly forgotten or totally ignored by modern TV stations.

It's not understandable to foreigners that don't understand the Austrian soul. The fact that the Magistrate or her municipality did list her missing since '44 is more than a joke. I am glad that the government at least changed that mistake after more than 70 years(!). I mean, there are so many shitshows happening even nowadays, Nazis and their ideology is and will be always around. Especially in the rural parts of the western region. The bad thing about it is that the 2nd generation after the actual "guilty" ones just wanted to forget everything since their fathers and mothers were silenced all the way. Incept of the secret meetings among the wealthy political and industrial elites, and no I don't mean the black ray ban and Kebaps eating in secret/hooligan type pure Aryans that name themselves "Identitär". The pity is that the only ones really concerning and condemning the horrible energies from back then is the leftist fraction in AUT, which is confused with Antifa and Climate activists. BIG shout outs to the great work of the Production crew!! Amazing Interviews with the real of the real. I mean they are still out there. Argentina, South America, who worked for lacing up some middle east secret Intelligence and police forces to feed them knowledge. It's like, y'all know the drill. Thanks for sharing this very good Doc, that was late overdue. Peace

At 1:13:13 through 1:13:43 it explains that the people who did such things should not be memorialized, but Harlan Crowe, benefactor of Clarence Thomas is a collector of artifacts of such persons and has a special Garden with Statues of their images. Disgusting... even without the implications regarding a Supreme Court Justice choosing him as a close friend and benefactor.

Great Documentary! I am glad the people who knew her and her family were willing to be interviewed. Frau Maria Mandl made bad choices. It sounds like career opportunities were scarce in Nazi Germany. It seems like both Jewish and Nazis women paid a price. First, the pay wasn’t worth the poor working conditions and the mass murder they had to commit in order to advance in the ranks. I don’t understand how the Female Nazi Guards put up with the tools and treatment that was issued by the SS. A bike, a gun, and a dog. I am not In anyway excusing the atrocities that Mandl committed. My heart goes out to the women and children that was interned at Auschwitz and had to suffer because of her.

Some are overly emotional and angry in these comments. Which makes me afraid to comment. However Maria was one of the only Nazi Guards who showed anykind of remorse before they executed her, but I don't know if she was feeling sorry for herself or her actions? It's Hard to tell because I was not there. But If there is anything we may learn from Maria, is that there was a possiblity for redemption. Which begs the question for those of us today who see forms of Nazi'ism manifestng in Terrorist groups like Hamas or in Far-Right or Far-Left Politics.

where are the comments here overly emotional? and how can you not be angry and emotional over what women like her did to innocent people? and since you think the left is remotely the same as those people - remember who fought against them and freed the camps; the camps THEY were the first prisoners of.
