I use this Hitachi 210 to help with this logging job - building road and using skidding tongs to pull wood out to the landing. Tongs are a great tool to use with an excavator.

Good job demonstrating the use of tongs on the excavator. I will have to give that a try sometime, sure beats wrapping a chain and getting in and out like you said.

Yep you bet, they are a handy tool - can save you a lot of work sometimes.
are you sawing logs on your own mill, or sell to lumber yards/ saw mills? thanks for the vids

You bet. I’m going to mill all this wood myself, for building my house. I sell a bit of live edge wood just to pay for the fuel, sawmill blades, maintenance, etc but I don’t sell the logs.
