Falling a Red Cedar $$ log, thick timber tight shot. G444 with Stihl upgrades.

Using the Holzfforma G444 with some upgraded Stihl parts. Falling some high grade Red Cedar through tight timber.

    Glad to hear that you're liking your upgraded G444 -- been eyeing one myself and was wondering what other folks were upgrading them with OEM wise...

    Yeah its actually a decent saw, plenty of power and it runs great. I'm maybe $200 in upgrades and I think I paid $220 for it.

    We only have Eastern Red Cedar here which is a Juniper. Super fragrant but I wish I could cut that cedar! Have fun!

    Yeah it’s nice wood. The red cedar has a nice scent, especially old growth

    @@t.texasty I have always wanted to mill cedar. I have a Frontier bandsaw myself but I am not setup for the long lengths

    Ha thanks… far from awesome though 🙂 Lots of practice until you get the feel for it. Old stumps are good to practice on if they’re tall enough, you can put a bunch of undercuts in one. Can help you learn to line up your cuts without actually working under a tree that’s ready to fall.
