If you lived in a time like back then, when you were told as a child that you should die for your leader, your country, you can no longer hold grudges against him today. You have to know the story behind everyone. For almost all young German men, it was a privilege to serve as a soldier in the SS. This is not supposed to excuse the crimes, but everyone has a right to rest in peace.

German dog tags are not as you might expect. They include regiment names and identification numbers, but I don’t think they had the soldiers names on them. Also, they were meant to be broken in half - one half stays with the body, the other goes to the death registrar. Whole dog tags can be good indicators the soldier was killed and left behind, there was no opportunity to snap off the half to give to the graves registry.

Hardly wasted. These men here paid the ultimate price in this never spoken of aspect of World War II. Never spoken of, but immensely important!! It always seems to spark argument and debate, unfortunately we will never get an answer… BUT; If the forces of Germany & the volunteers from other European countries, (Like the ones excavated in this video, Waffen SS WESTLAND, & others) But if the 3rd Reich had NOT attacked to the east, had NOT hit the Communist Soviet Union as hard & fast as they did in the 1st year of operation Barbarosa, I dread to see what Europe would look like today… completely unrecognizable in my opinion. Ultimately, I believe Stalin wanted all of Europe for himself, (which he kept MUCH of it after the war anyway…Without arguments/disagreements from the west). It’s evident, starting in 1937 the soviet Union ramped up their arms production in anticipation for the day they spread their communist beliefs West. The Germans knew that, and simply “beat him to the punch” while the Soviets were still weak from the “takeover”. Part of gaining full control in Russia, the jewishh bolsheviks used tactics that were inhumanly brutal and swift. Quick and Factory-like assassinations of thousands officers, and local government officials. All leadership personnel, from top to bottom, in every military branch, large cities, small towns, and everywhere in between, military officers, doctors, lawyers, and ALL intellectuals/people of intelligence, in society were systematically eliminated. The bolshevik way was hands tied behind the back, single shot through the base of the spine into the back of the head. Body falls forward into a pre-dug trench. (See the massacre at the KATYN FORREST, 22,000+ Polish executed by the Soviet Union in May 1940) But with a poorly lead military, Stalin was simply buying time. He lacked of course talented officers, but also lacked modern arms/weaponry, modern planes, and many other essential pieces needed for divers in war. Eventually, once he was ready, I believe he would’ve struck east AFTER Germany, Poland, France, England, Holland, Belgium, Norway, Finland, etc. had feet in the shit out of each other up + down left & right leaving it’s citizens + economies tired & “War weary“. It would’ve been easy for him at that point. I estimate ALL of Europe, (other than England/Ireland/Scotland, protected by water) would have been under Soviet/Communist/Bolshevik rule. All of Europe. All under Stalin’s rule if operation Barbarosa had NOT happened.
