    I feel like the increase in performance compared with the previous 1k build came from 75% gpu, 20% cpu and 5% ram. From all the tests I've seen DDR5 doesn't actually improve performance too much from DDR4 so if you need to save money on this build I'd start there

  • @jgorres
    @jgorres8 ай бұрын

    I completely agree with your idea of building with "future proofing" in mind, and for those of us who don't care about aesthetics, we could stay within budget by using the 12400F, a cheaper case, and no cable extensions! Heck, we might even have room for a GPU upgrade with those savings (a big "might" if we're actually going to stick to the $1,000 budget).

  • @jgorres

    @jgorres

    8 ай бұрын

    The upgrade I'd definitely be looking at down the road is the i7-14700K (or F), so I would lean towards an air cooler that could handle that CPU (so I didn't have to upgrade that as well).

  • @jondasek

    @jondasek

    8 ай бұрын

    @@jgorres I'd go with the Peerless Assassin 120 which is not even more expensive than the thing he used, and it's one of the best air coolers there is.

  • @jondasek

    @jondasek

    And for futureproofing, you can get a B650 board with Ryzen 7600 for approximately the same amount as the 13400F and this B760, and it's gonna support many more CPU generations, plus your upgrade path doesn't have to envolve a CPU consuming over 200W of power.

  • @dianaalyssa8726

    @dianaalyssa8726

    i7/better (i9 requires a lot of cooling), more ram (32gb/more). Have been on 32gb DDR4 since 2019 build and DDR5 32gb is affordable (not as cheap as DDR4), NVME 3 or 4 better would go 2TB+ if possible. Friend got a slower one by buying a 2 x 1 TB a month apart, same brand & model, controller changed (2020). I used to move the old video game footage/stream to a HDD after. Have a few 1TB-4TB and a 20TB storage. CPU would be taxed a lot for Twitch streaming, so would invest in that. Am replacing my 9600k build with a 12700KF one I got some sales last week. Ram is cheaper for DDR4 have seen some 64GB 100-120, paid about 85 for DDR5 6000 RGB, with non rgb being about $10 cheaper, decent latency. The DDR5 timings will improve with time and it will get cheaper to buy more/faster speeds as time goes on. Maybe better GPU/PSU depending on use case. I convinced my best friend to go 32gb for his 2020 5800X build and he's been happy gaming/watching multiple streams/lots of tabs open etc. (1080P). Resolution will determine how demanding also, Am in 1440p, 1080p was much easier to run, my friend with 1440 UW was running i9 10900k 3090 (he didn't have to adjust settings as much as I would have had to).

Also since u are not overclocking the in-box cooler is good enough no reason to buy another one. The psu is a bit overkill tbh, this build can be easily powered by a 550w psu so unless u wanna upgrade very soon, it's not worth it. And finally, and this is completly optional and a matter of preference, u could go cheaper 512gb m.2 and a 2tb hdd if u want more storage for the same price without sacrificing much of the overall experience

    Interesting build video. I spent almost 1k on my GPU (again). It's impressive though what you can build. Mine will be a 12700KF (sale was 219) 7900XTX 32GB DDR5 6000 $82ish, 1200W A tier(have a 1050W but it's getting old 3.5 years old Apevia Warlock RGB Bronze). 1 TB is a decent amount, Have some SP and P31 1 TB. Purchased a 2 TB P31 drive. I found a Thermalright correction frame and have a cooler (120 SE PA). I love seeing how much value you put together for 1k budget though. I almost went AM5 but the GPU also has the Starfield bundle. I really loved the D4 themed build also. I too ended up with about 99 and tax on B760 board. Am hoping I didn't derp it up too much (second build planned) but was getting stutters on my old 9600k 3060 pandemic era build so those prime day/fantatech sales really helped me out. The 12700KF was only $40 more at the time than the 12600K. Probably will test WoW, FF14, Starfield, general streaming. 7600X was also tempting but some people were still getting stutters. Really exciting to watch these builds. Have been wanting to build again an upgrade since helping my friend part his 5800X build in 2020.

I also had an rx 6700 xt, b760 motherboard, and 16 gb of ddr5 memory. For the cpu it was very similar with me getting an i5 13600kf. I spent a solid month researching the parts, so ig I did an ok job. (the pc also preforms great)

    Agree on everything except on the gpu part, the main thing that make the rx 6700xt superiour to the rtx 3060ti is the vram (12gb vs 8gb) so paying a lil extra for 50% increase in vram is worth it imo. Ofc that is if gaming is main goal of this build

  • @DeadBeefTech

    @@themightylordofgoblins6880 True. Pure gaming the 6700xt is better, but if you are doing productivity you probably need cuda so it's a non-starter in that department. RT is slightly usable on 3060 ti, the stream encoder is significantly better on the RTX.

    Imo Cpu: 12400f 150$ (Better value than the 13400f imo you're saving 50 bucks for barely any performance loss) Cpu Cooler: Stock comes in the box Motherboard: Asus prime B760 plus 100$ Ram: GeIL Polaris 2x16GB 5600Mhz cl46 80$ Storage: MSI Gen 4 1tb SSD 40$ Case: DiyPC F2 white 40$ (the only big sacrifice) GPU: Rx 7800 xt or Rtx 4070 (around 500-550$) PSU: Apevia Prestige 600w 80+ Gold 50$ Would be around 1000 dollars and give a better gaming performance and editing experience. I dont think anyone will notice the drop from a 13400f to a 12400f but the 7800 xt or Rtx 4070 and an extra 16gb ram would be way more noticeable. Also the case does its job.

    If you’re adding an Nvidia GPU AND you want the all white components, there’s not a chance you’re getting same performance as this build unless you go way over budget. Nvidia GPUs are way overpriced at the moment and all white components will also run you a premium.
