@@busking6292 well the 40-mile long convoy of tanks outside Kyiv didn't even fire a shot. If you also consider the fact that Erdogan was in talks with Putin and Zelensky in Ankara working on a deal, then its probably right that Russia was trying to force Ukraine to honor the Minsk Accords as stressed by Putin in Munich the week prior. If Russia wanted to take over, that 40 mile convoy would have walked in guns blazing, and the FAB bombs we see today would have levelled Kyiv. I hope you realize this guy has been correct about ukraine since over a year ago.

There are many more evil regimes around the world that don't get that title applied. 3. He never said Hamas was good, but since they are also an elected government, it puts them in similar categories like China and Iran. I like how open he is about all the faults with the CIA, our near-sightedness, how intelligence is different from facts, and how uncertain the future is. I disagree vehemently that America's interests == maintaining our superpower status and remaining the #1 economy. Those weren't even remote possibilities or considerations when our country was founded. We became great from following those principles, but now we want to remain great by sabotaging our competition. The CIA has lost its way.

Three comments: 1. In 1918, briefly, the Ukrainian people proclaimed their own country. The border of this Ukraine did not include Crimea. 2. In WWII, one in 300 Americans was killed. For the Soviet Union this figure was one in seven. And at that time the Soviet Union was a significantly larger country than the United States. Russian paranoia of an invasion from the West does not come out of nowhere. 3. Putin asked to join NATO, but was refused. Operations against Serbia and Afghanistan were done under the auspices of NATO (not exactly the defensive operations one envisions when one thinks of the purpose of NATO). Against this background, if you were the leader of Russia, wouldn't you be concerned of having NATO-member Ukraine on your border?
