Chamfering the fret slots also helps with seating of the frets since the tang has a slight fillet. Guitar is looking awesome!

Looks great David. Beautiful piece of wood for the fretboard. I use the EVO wire on most of my builds unless a client wants something else. I think the gold wire even looks good with chrome and black hardware.

I do like the plastic rod alignment pin idea...but since you own a cnc machine, wouldn't it be cool to mill in index pins on the two mating sides? Great video btw...Jim from Raleigh North Carolina 👌

Hi. Love your vids. Guitars look stunning. Just some questions. Didn't you supposed to bend your fret wire to a slightly tighter radius than your fretboard (on video yours looks a little flat, like exactly matching fretboard radius)? It helps fret tangs to better grip wood fibers when fret goes in the fret slots. And also you can use regular white wood glue like titebond or something like fish glue instead CA glue (using a syringe with a needle to put glue into fret slot). It will be much easier to cleanup by just using some wet rag (but you will need to wait little bit longer until glue dries and fret ends can be cliped). Anyways, keep up good work!

Thanks for watching and commenting! The frets are actually over radius although maybe not enough. And yes I have also thought about wood glue but just haven’t done it yet.
