@@thegobblerproject2363 I bought a Beretta 92fs as my 1st gunshop purchase on my 21st birthday. I went back two weeks later to get the "G' conversion and they had a mint Smith & Wesson 19 No dash for a great price so I got my Lethal Weapon duo. I love part 1 and 2 , part 3 was ok but part 4 I didn't enjoy. Those 80's and early 90's action movies influenced my love of Beretta and Heckler & Koch firearms.

I will forever and always love the Beretta 92. I grew up shooting the 92 with my father who as a cop carried a beautiful Italian made stainless 92fs. Now at 31 years old I'm a dyed in the wool Beretta fan and picture a day in the future when 92s become the new 1911, with all the custom gunsmiths churning out super high end, match grade, heirloom renditions of the venerable M9 which will be considered a true "classic" from "the good old days" and mostly just old guys like I'll be by then will be the ones buying them and reminiscing about range days with our father.

I have been shooting for 30 years and the Beretta 92 is the most reliable, easy to shoot handgun available. If someone said, "you have to go fight for your life with a semi-auto handgun right now" it would be the Beretta.

They hit nail right on the head with why the Military M9 gets a bad rep from my generation of veterans. They’re worn out. No part gets replaced until it breaks. As long as it will “function”, that’s all they care about. I love Berettas, especially my Brig Tac with the WC trigger job. Great video.

I carried the M9 when I was security forces in the AF. I never liked the pistol for all the stated reasons. I just thought it wasn't a good pistol. Years ago I watched MrGunsnGear's video on the problems with military M9's and realized the 92 series actually is a good pistol. I own a 92S and I've been eyeing one of those Langdon 92's for a while now.

One of my first handguns was a Taurus PT-99, which was based on the old-style Beretta with the slide mounted 1911-style safety. I used it for years in pin shooting as well as USPSA competition, and still have my Ernie Hill Speed Leather rig. Fantastic gun, though I did send it back for warranty service for a broken locking lug. But later on I realized that I was shooting 169gr FMJBT bullets from IMI using what was a +P+ SMG load. Taurus did send it back fixed at no charge.

I remember well the anguish of losing the 1911 but I got over it. I put over 10k rounds through the Beretta during the course of three days shooting with absolutely no malfunctions of any kind. Not even a hiccup. But the best part was handing it off to the next man in line and he shot the same course with the exact same result. Our pistols had a pinned on trijicon front sight. This was around 30 years ago but I was sold on the gun. To this moment I still carry one everyday. 👍👍

Great post!!! I’ve been 45 ACP guy for many, many years, and I still enjoy shooting my 1911 and my Sig P220. I bought my first 92FS in the late 90’s, partly because I didn’t own a pistol chambered in 9mm, I liked how it felt in my hand, and because it was being sold at a really good price. The first time I took it to the range, I was amazed with how well it shot. For a service pistol, it’s accuracy is outstanding. I was consistently putting down good groups on a silhouette target at 40 to 50 yards. I’ve lost count how many rounds I’ve fired through it over the years. And I’ve fired every brand and type of factory ammo through it. I’ve never had a single malfunction with it, ever. I’ve been to the range, several times where I’ve fired over 500 hundred rounds, and it just keeps working without a hiccup. I still absolutely love my 45’s, but I dare say my Beretta 92s are my overall favorite.

Literally the other day I’m at work and my boss is gathering up some stuff to deliver to one our clients and before he left he was showing me his Beretta M9, of course me being a 1911 guy, I was a bit skeptical, but I will say that when I was handling the gun (non shooting), it did feel natural in the hand like a 1911, the tigger, on the other hand might needs some work a bit heavy. But overall, I think the Beretta is a fine gun, and I might get me one later.

I carried a 40 S&W Beretta 92F as my duty weapon for almost 13 years . Perfect weapon! When we trained over from a model 19 S&W to the 92F we had to make a 15 foot 3 second double tap that went through the first round’s hole in the paper. Everyone moaned when they heard that requirement , but when I shot I did it on my first attempt and I have been a devotee of the 92F ever since.

Little late here but I have the 92SB model full size still made in Italy which came after the S Model. Here is the history I could find on this particular Model. The 92SB was made between 1982-1985. The 92SB Model was created for USAF trials in the 1980s which it won. The gun was based off the 92S with addition of a firing pin block and relocation of the magazine release from the bottom of the grip to behind the trigger guard. It's a great firearm and one of the many variations of the Model 92.

I just revisited this video and throughly enjoyed the conversation once again! I was for the longest time averse to all things DA/SA of which the Beretta 92 was the industry icon. I had an opportunity, at one point years ago, to pick up a like new PX4 Storm 9mm for a song from a friend and declined because it was DA/SA with as undesirable a form as the Hunchback of Notre Dame… Fast forward to 2020…I discovered Ernest Langdon, the statesman of Beretta DA/SA’s and became enamored with his advocacy of the platform for its intrinsic safety, reliability, and durability. I watched him run the PX4 full-size and compact carry models through 100,000 round torture tests without a hiccup and suddenly found myself saying, “I gotta try one of those!” In addition, I was convinced that if I could learn to manipulate the DA trigger well…I could manage any trigger system with alacrity. This has been proven to be the case and I now own and carry daily any one of four, tuned PX4 models. And guess what, I have this insatiable craving to get my hands on a full-sized or Centurion 92G for range and competition. I’ve come full circle!

I agree with Bill 1000%. If the Beretta 92 had a frame mounted safety, it would not only change the gun, it would likely have changed the entire American gun market. So we also have the D version. But...I’m seeing Berettas 92x Performance with frame safeties. I’m betting they will make duty 92’s with the same safety. Regards, Marky

Great tribute to the Beretta pistol series. Like Bill Wilson, my experience with the Beretta (92FS) is similar. I always shot it well, and never had any reliability problems. I set aside the Beretta in favor of the Glocks for about 20 years, but have come back strong with the Beretta pistol. All of your examples were the decocker models and 9 mm caliber, but there are some great DAO versions, also good pistols in .40 caliber S&W, some of which I own.

Sold guns for a living during the openings of "lethal Weapon" and "Die Hard"... If I had a dime for every "Show me the Lethal weapon/Die Hard gun". I must say one look at the INOX, and they were hooked. Was one of the smoothest, easiest to rack slides, so soft shooting, and as mentioned incredible reliability and good accuracy. Reloading for them is easy with their generous leade, but they tend to run oversized with regard to groove diameter. Never mic'd one that was less than .357", and using 125 grain .357" JHP bullets or .358" 115-158 grain cast bullets has the makings of a real tack-driver. Still have an M9 with the "D" spring and trigger I worked over, and count on it to protect my life. Nice video Gentlemen.

Started out with a polymer framed pistol and was always irritated by the sloppy slide, canted Barrell rattling around with the slide locked. Reliable gun, but feels underwhelming. Then you learn in torture tests, Glock polymer framed start deforming around 1,500 rounds. I did a lot of research. Was tempted by the CZ 75 SPO1 Tactical. Ended up with a Beretta M9A3. Just LOVE it. Just racking the slide reminds me how much smoother and nicer it is over a Glock or Sig. All these Glock shooters racing to get ported slides. Beretta had an open slide in the 80s. Such a better design made from better materials with 35 years of trials and improvements.

I have a 92FS, italian one. I'm not a huge guy, 1.80m (5"11) and I don't have a problem with the gun's size. I don't see much difference from grabbing a glock or any double stack 9mm pistol out there. Granted, for the novice shooter it might feel too big, but as I learned with the glock, once you learn how to grab it is actually better cause you have more grip to hold on to. I agree on the safety part, the 92X is how they should've done it in the first place (thumb safety similar to a 1911), but overall this is an awesome gun.

Only upgrade to my 92A1, is a Wilson Combat Hammer Spring#14 & slim grips. Makes trigger pull & grip allot more acceptable. Everything else is great as you can get out of the box.

Mr. Hackathorn says good DA/SA autos today are Beretta or Sig. With all due respect, CZ DA/SA autos like the SP-01 and other CZ 75 variants are quite popular on the competition ranges. Personally, I'm a Beretta fan but the CZ's are easy to love, too.

The evolution of the Beretta 92 starts with the Walther P38, because it is a P38, with a different guide rod. It's just another copy of German design.

I love everything about the Beretta 92 except the double to single action. It's the only reason I don't own one anymore. I wish they would make a new version that would have the safety on the frame as the very first version had.

Many thanks again you two are heroes of mine , hope we are still here in a year! Let’s go Brandon. 😂. Trump 24!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

You know it blows my mind why I haven't ever seen a Wilson Combat CZ... Unless there is and I'm just stupid (I have legendary stupidity, btw)... IMO, the best pistol... competition shooters are wise to the CZ 75 platform but still most shooters are ignorant...I was one of those... REALLY late to the CZ game and boy was I angry that it had been sitting under my nose my whole life and yet I didn't take a chance on CZ until my late 20's... Just about every company has taken the CZ 75 platform and made amazing pistols from it... You turn your head and there's clones EVERYWHERE or derivatives of it... From the baby desert eagle to Sphinx or Phoenix arms, you can see the CZ in all of them... So with all these companies using the platform, why not Wilson?

Frame safety and mag release at upper location ARE available on a "Beretta". The Taurus PT92. I know people get bent out of shape over this claim, but it they are buit on Beretta tooling, in a Beretta facility, using Beretta design. Taurus simply kept the frame mounted safety and moved the magazine release to the proper location. Even magazines are usable with minor modification.

I hated the beretta's while on active duty because they were worn out and always broke at the range due to non factory replacement parts. They also issued us worn out mags, so I used to bring my own to upload and stick the duty mags in my pocket. It wasn't until I got out for about a year and someone put a beretta 92 in my hand and I realized how nice they actually are.

If Bill Wilson likes the idea of a Beretta with the frame mounted safety and the Browning style magazine release, he should check out the Taurus PT 92. Taurus took over the Brazilian factory from Beretta and made some changes to the original design.
