How do you press off the gears and bearings? Do you have to put the whole gear set & shaft in the press?

Hey Paul, When you get the chance, can you ask Andy what gear oil he would recommend, for those of us that have the straight cut 4th mod. I bought a brand new Evo 9 5 speed and then paid for the 4th mod + some other little goodies lol. Would really like to keep this thing in pristine condition. On the forums, there's the usual recommendations of MT90, Motul Gear 300, and OEM Diaqueen; but I think it would beneficial to hear from someone that has put in the time.

OEM Diaqueen is what he recommended I run in my straight cut 4th trans.

I'm not sure who actually makes the gears, but i'm pretty sure this is the second batch RS motors got from the same supplier. I can try to get more info...
With oil you recomendations for best safe for gerbox?

I use Mitsu OEM MTF 75W-85.
The whole vid I was trying to get a look at 1st but couldn't see it more than a sec lol... Thank God for screen shot haha Great vid tho!

SLIGHT WHINE?! I've got Dan Buschurs straight cut, double synchro'd 4th and it's loud as hell. I avoid my 4th like the plague 😅

the tooth profile has a lot to do with the whine. stiffer mounts and RS models will amplify the noise as well. full street cars with stock mounts its noticeable but not loud by any means.

@@ASMotorsports I've got an MR and only have a stiffer mount on the North-South crossmember. I'm guessing mine is loud due to tooth profile then. I sent a video to Paul (granted it's not a great video) so he has an idea of what mine is like. It's definitely loud.
