Injustice Starring Superman

This tournament was before a lot of patches. The past three Injustice tournaments have been incredible experiences, for real, better than EVO was. And I find EVO awesome, but negativity from the folks below me made me write this.

Meterburn heavies absorbing 50% of damage really changed this game for the better.

I wish I had a dollar for every time Ultradavid said a character has good mobility

Why don't I feel annoyed when I see Green Arrow zoning but I do when I see Superman zoning?

I agree with you on that it's probably because green arrow doesn't do large amounts of chip damage if you block it like superman.

Man I love watching fighting game tournaments they are the best i love fighting games but hate playing them online but i can watch great fighters all day

Commentator hit it right on the head. Once dude couldn't use that sweep combo, Green Arrow wore his ass out. Cats have GOT to master more than one setup...

Superman is pretty difficult to deal with. His poke with heat vision is hard to close on, and he ends up generating more meter than the opponent because they're stuck guarding. Even when you do close in, he's very strong at that range as well. The only real way to counter-play is to gap-close ASAP before his meter advantage becomes a huge problem when you close in.

Does every player bring their own controller or do you have to use whatever controllers EVO provides? I want to go this year - anyone know if there is a big crowd for the Genesis and SNES console games like MK 1 and Street Fighter 2 in the bring your console section or is mostly just modern games?

It's called zoning but it's honestly broken in this game, but in games like SF if you lose to some one who's zoning you need more practice.

I noticed this game is just about rehashing the same old combo until you win.

Even though Aquaman got meaningful Nerfs as well, the universal down 2 made him a bit better with such a high hitbox for Supes in the air... but the real reason is the water shield for some reason absorbs Superman's zoning. I don't know why but there's no chip. If a DjT88 composed player was playing Aquaman I think they'd have a slight advantage over Green Lantern in terms of Superman match ups...That jump arc too. so good

boosts his overall damage and adds armor to his specials. the level of venom dictates the level of armor your specials get. interactables and anything that does damage do more damage with venom.

that's SOOOOO smart!

This is why TEKKEN and Street Fighter will always be the greatest fighting games.

yea your right there, but he seems outsped still by many characters. i also noticed he has few overheads. the water of life has been nerfed, though. i do agree that was cheap. it now takes 12 seconds to recharge and can't save him from super moves that are beginning combos. ex:lex luthor, harley quinn

ixup is a term used to describe a series of attacks or inputs that is forced the opponent to quickly react or guess what you going to do. The most common type is a high low mixup where you end a string with either a low or a high attack, forcing the opponent to guess which one your going to do. If they guess wrong you can get a full combo from it. Conversion just means that they got a hit outside of a setup or mix up and the player reacts to that hit and gets a nice little combo on top of it.

RagoziHD That is the notation they use to refer to the different attack buttons. Injustice has 3 main attack buttons, so light attack is 1, medium attack is 2 and heavy attack is 3.

.-. one thing that weirds me out still, Why does MK9, look better and it came out way before this? I'm speaking from a graphic standpoint,character texture and etc, hell I think even MKvsDCU had smoother looking characters, Injustice is awesome don't get me wrong,but during the cut scenes it looks kind lazy. I think they should have put in as much love as they did with MK. none the less the combat is awesome,I hope they continue with the series at least,it's a good game,and i hate to see it slowly vanish.

It could have been an art direction that when side by side just didn't pan out. That's really all I can think of. I completely agree that mk9 is the better looking game (textures, effects, models)

Im not sure if its worse, but its definitely not an advancement from MK9 at all. one thing i think they got right in this game were the sounds. every hit sounds powerful and heavy when they should, and light and quick when they should. it really makes every hit feel like it counts

I think they didn't want to try and use the same character models cause MK9 and MK vs DC kinda had the same models and it looks like they started from scratch and maybe even rushed to get it done or their main focus was gameplay

Superman's Laser seems a bit too powerful considering his close range attacks are very strong as well?

People seriously need to stop complaining about Superman. If anyone's ever heard about Maximilian's theory, Superman was so good because of the Man of Steel movie. They were going to keep Superman strong as long as the movie was still relevant.

Chrie G gave that last fight away. Once he got him to where his opponent had less health than him, he should've went back to his zoning game.

That guy using Superman in the first match was such a dick. Just kept spamming lasers. As soon a Batman got close, he just hit him back and spammed his lasers again.

Huevontlez But the game studio dealt with balancing very poorly. Instead of modifying each character, they just released new characters that were specialized in countering zoning or rush-down, etc.

i thought i'd see a reallly good batgirl take Injustice this evo too. man its like if DJt played one of 2 or 3 specific characters, Batgirl, Aquaman, maybe raven... he's got the great stamina of patience to beat superman. It hurt to see DJt not using GL max damage combos though... the hits he were confirming could of lead easily into %45 damage, max %50 Without trait...(MB the missile FIRST after a confirm is key, Then MB grab, back 3, and the back 1 2 string) Huge difference

OMG Chris G is so awesome....using characters that are not power makes him really skilled at this game. He's really good with characters like Batman and Green Arrow. He is what the definition of pro player is, not spamming losers using superman and black Adam.

and if by sluggish you mean slow, that's not true at all. b1,2 string comes at you at 9 frames first attack, and has ridiculous reach. It makes him a really good punisher. marine marvel f1,2's first attack comes at you at 7 frames and also has decent reach. now f1,2 can be armored out of but its risky to do because aquaman can also do f1, trident scoop which blows through the armor because it hits twice. but again, like I said, diff of opinion.

I don't think anyone else has pointed it out, but DJT actually took the first game from KDZ in winner's finals. Ultradavid clearly forgot about that when he was saying that KDZ didn't drop a game and 2-0'd everybody. Kinda bugged me how he went on and on about this falsehood during and after grand finals.

The fact that superman is so unhype he makes Kabal look hype should be worrisome to the fighter community.
