I'm curious if this made any difference for you? I have a 1988 88Spl and my alarms just went off while I was running it on the muffs.

In retrospect, it did not. If you look at a subsequent video where I had to pull the heads and fix a broken off head bolt, it's because I found the left hand head on the bottom cylinder had bits of gasket and rubber blocking a water passage in the gasket, and lots of debris like grass and mud etc in there. I flushed all that out fresh head gaskets and no more problem
