How to date a rich man? Genuinely act interested in and surprised in "their great wisdom" even if you already knew what they are preaching. People especially rich men like to believe they are teaching us something... When time is right surprise them with your understanding and growth and credit their teachings, they will continue to support and admire you. All rich people get huge ego strokes by being an apprentice or mentor... you dont have to belive it only they do.

Brilliant plan!

One thing I ADORE about Shallon is her videos' being long. This is the antidote to the 3-minute-long "9 ways you can do X" that are heavily scripted and unauthentic that dominate KZread. I've NEVER been a stan or a fan.. i have my favorite artists but I've never related to someone i only saw onscreen. Shallon is the only exception. She feels like a friend and I think it has to do with her videos being long and unscripted. I've been consistently watching EVERY SINGLE VIDEO Shallon posts for two years now, which is crazy because I've NEVER committed to anything that long, not a person, not a hobby, not a study field, etc. Shallon you go girl ❤️.

When I dated a rich man, I initially had no idea that he was rich which helped us start from a basis of friendship. Rich people are people. Everything in their life feels like a transaction. The magic happens when you can create a connection rather than a transaction with them. Treat everyone this way, not just rich people. You never know who you are talking to!

I honestly don't even care if the topics don't relate to me, Shallon just always has the best advice and wisdom

This look is the prettiest of hers I've seen in a while and she always looks great. It suits her perfectly, literally everything is on point.

One of my favorite phrases is "see the man, not the myth" once I look for the traits that make them human or that I do better, even if it's tiny, mentally it stops me putting a divide between us

I hate that self love and self confidence is viewed as narcissism. All the arrogance that stems from true narcissistic behaviors is from insecurity that is clear. When I was young I was arrogant. It was because I was insecure, as a got older I didn't like that part about myself and so I flipped it to self depreciation (the opposite end of the spectrum about the same trauma that arrogance stems from). Now after many years of therapy and self work, I feel like I belong, I think I will do great things. I think I deserve nothing less than good things and will find a way out of a bad situation. It's not because I'm narcissistic. I'm actually the most relaxed, self assured and humble I've ever been in my life. I have true self esteem and that is a GOOD thing. I never feel the need to tear down others. I compliment people because I never feel like I am not enough if someone else is good at something. I also compliment myself! And there's nothing wrong with that! I've been around true narcissistic people. They are the most ego driven, insecure pain in the asses to deal with. No one else is competition because I know I'm good enough. The only competition is with myself to become better and better and I use others as inspiration for that, not jealousy.

good point about having symbiotic relationships with ppl - smart ones won't go for anything else. Using others won't get you anywhere meaningful. It's either adding value and being honestly interesting, talented, strong, and caring for those around you deeply or either hanging out with losers who just float through life.

How on earth did I not know until today that “con man” was short for confidence. That makes sense why I’ve never been able to run in these circles. I need confidence. Good thing I’m working in this area with my therapist. 😏🥳

I feel like lower case narcissism is a necessary survival trait in today's society and is actually healthy for a human being. There's a difference between a positive, strong self-concept vs the complete delusion/psychosis of NPD and other cluster B personalities.

Hey Shallon, love the video but here’s just my two cents - I personally come from a well off family but tend to steer away from the sorts of people my parents hang out with. I find most of them extremely superficial and usually lacking in authenticity. I honestly prefer to surround myself with people who dont have ‘everything’ and dont come from a family where everything is simply handed to them on a silver platter. I have grown up with the rich and elite of town and the majority of them are truly miserable inauthentic people. I feel like a lot of people at ‘the top’ are usually not that happy either… Ive been on a journey of self-discovery recently that has made me realize money and materialistic things do not make me happy - at all. They bring a level of comfort but money truly doesn’t bring happiness. And i’m not saying this in a cliched “live love laugh” sort of way. The more I get, the less satisfied I become because I always want more and more… it never ends. But now that I have been making meaningful connections with people, being less stuck-up, and focusing less on the external, I am slowly finding who I truly am. So yes, money is nice. Having the bags and the fancy holidays and flying first class is great and I am grateful that I am given such luxuries, but it has in no way made me the ‘ happiest and most fulfilled ‘ person which most people assume it will bring. Hope this makes sense. Love you !

Agreed. I had the same experiences. Always had things provided for me. The purpose of life is to be happy, and happiness comes from authentic connections. If you aren’t meditating already I’d highly suggest it - everything is really empty and meaningless, we are the ones who assign meaning to things🌹

Listening to this and actually realizing why people often seem to be taken with me despite me having literally no connections and no knowledge of fun spots or events or basically anything useful. I think I have a tendency to talk to everyone as individuals regardless of their status and people really seem to respond to that. I also love to read and discuss psychology and stuff, so I’m sure that helps. Some of the meaner people in my life used to openly wonder why my well heeled and popular friends liked me so much when I clearly didn’t attempt to be popular and wasn’t much good at fitting in. In hindsight they weren’t wrong to be confused, even though it doesn’t feel good to constantly be thought of as not good enough. But I’m also thinking, both of my parents are narcissists and I’ve fought their selfish and childish tendencies my whole life. Is it possible that a touch of narcissism is responsible for my self confidence and charisma? I’m generally pretty kind and try to keep my ego low, but maybe I do have a bit of “no one is better than me” that can be attributed to that…
