I get more compliments from my Uber delivery drivers than the ones I live with (if I even get compliments from them at all, I mean the ones I live with). It’s a damn shame isn’t it? Even a stranger treat you with less ignorance or greater honor or respect than those you live with.

I always tell peoples young and old to treat the elderly with love ,respect and treat them right, If God let you live to be their age would you want them to treat you that way....Always think about how you would wanted to be treated if you were elderly or live to be.

I've watched hundreds of these videos and this one is by far, my MOST favorite!! Years ago, I took a job in a nursing home. My ex husband and I had just separated. I figured it was just a simple job to get some money in my pocket for Christmas. They started me out at $5.25 an hour. I thought that I would quit right after Christmas. Well, here comes four years later, and four pay raises later and I was only making $5.90 an hour. I guess you could say that I was not there for the money. I loved my job. It's now, 20 years later and I've moved on from that job but I can still tell you what they ask wanted in their coffee!! They all became my little family. They all became my "kids". It was an amazing job!! ❤️

There was a real case where a patient dies due to a Nurse's negligence and she lied in the court that she did everything she could to help the patient. A secret video camera installed by the patient's family revealed that was not the case. You need a care giver to look after patients especially the elderly.

I'm a home hospice rehabilitation nursing assistant. I have seen many people go to the other side, with peace and dignity. Very few of us will have the choice of death in our own homes, in their own beds with their pets around them. Not all my patients were elderly, some younger than my 63 years, I tried to make their last days as comfortable and peaceful as possible. Nursing assistants spend more time in one week with the patients than the MDs and nurses do in a month. The work is back breaking and emotionally debilitating. I chose this profession because I know that I make a difference.

Being a CNA can be right, I stay in it because I love working with the clients, but I've definitely gotten fired for speaking up about others, even head nurses & I was somehow fired for 'something else's. But all we can do is take care of these people the best we can, bring them a bit of joy, listen, & hopefully protect them from evil people like this. Always speak up!

When people act like this, don’t go to their superiors and bosses who unfortunately oftentimes are just as bad. Get your camera ready to secretly get footage of the abusive behavior, and either text / email the footage to the patient with the patient’s permission (requesting your anonymity for being a whistleblower), or if you have the patient’s permission, upload that footage to an anonymous youtube account, or via a sharable link in Google Docs, and let the patient use that footage to complain to the high heavens to anyone in the system who will listen. A father who caught a nurse on camera in the INCU ward slapping and shaking his newborn baby, was able to get in touch with a lawyer and with the local news station to have his story broadcast. BEST case scenario these evil health care workers don’t just get fired, they also get publicly blacklisted, and either serve jail time or get sued.

Elder abuse enrages me too the point of seeing red. My mom is 88. I live with her and seeing her smile when I cook for her is the best part of my day. Or when I bring her morning coffee and hug her, calling her my pretty lady. Having my mom in my life is a blessing and I'm grateful every minute of every day that she's with me, and that I'm with her. When she accusesc me off spoiling her, I happily accept the smiling accusation. I adore my elderly mom. She's my blessing.

As an RN, I worked orthopedic floor, home health, hospice, and nursing home. I loved all my jobs they were all rewarding. I looked at all my elderly patients as my grandparents. They shared with me their life experiences and looked forward for my visits as I did. The paperwork and Medicare/Medicaid/governmental standards are the problem sometimes with what you can and cannot do, and the paperwork has to be documented accordingly to those guidelines. Praying for the elderly in these horrible circumstances. Never get into nursing just because of money, you have to have love and compassion to be a nurse.

So true, I used to work for a major food service company. Going into some nursing homes/hospitals broke my heart. I witnessed some of the most cold-hearted staff beyond imagination. The facilities where the patient had a high social status and family active in their life were treated amazingly. The facilities where the patient was desperate, had no money, no family, no outside help, often times were treated with neglect, frustration and anger from some of the staff. There were also some staff on the flip side that went above and beyond with everyone. It was easy to see their hearts were in it. One never knows what a person has gone through and why they are where they are. Destiny can seriously turn on a dime. A smile and kind words may be the only thing a person lives for. If someone is in a career and they are burned out, it's better for everyone, including everyone to move on. The burned out person needs a break at times to work on soul searching. I honestly don't think anyone goes into a field because they hate it, but often times they lose their passion. God Bless everyone whom works in the medical field, often times they are unnoticed and not given a simple thank you. A patients smile and kind words may also be the only thing that gets them through.

I am a cna in a nursing home. And I had to report a few times abuse that residents told me about and that cna that was mean got fired. I just don't know why people can't have respect, love and kindness. It's not hard to do!

Elderly people have given us the freedom that we enjoy today and that Cow of the nurse will be sorry when she gets older and in all honesty I hope that she will get everything that she deserves and its apsolutely pathetic to treat elderly people like that

I know taking care of the elderly has a certain challenging aspect to it. However, it is never acceptable to be rude to them. Also. The opposite is also true, there are some elderly patients who demand us to work for them as if they have some birthright to the same. However, not all patients are like that.

Being in the hospital with a horrible and possibly terminal illness would suck EVEN IF YOU GOT THE BEST POSSIBLE CARE and EVEN IF everyone treated you wonderfully. Being treated in a cruel and abusive manner would suck even if you were healthy and in your prime with no medical issues. COMBINING those 2 factors would REALLY SUCK!!!!

For heaven's sake, that evil nurse is treating the elderly like "trash". Where is the mercy or pity out there? She is doing an unethical behavior, especially violating the Code of Ethics for Nurses. In my country, the Philippines, that type of behavior can lead to suspension or worse, revocation of the nursing license due to violating the R.A. 9173 or "Philippine Nursing Act of 2002", Article IV, Section 23, letter B and F.... *Moral of the story* : Just because you're a healthcare professional, most especially a nurse, DOES NOT mean that you have to humiliate your patients. Treat them with respect.

I have worked in a busy downtown hospital for over 45 years and I've met and worked with many nice nurses and staff in my profession, however there were a few bad apples who had no business being in their field. About 10 years ago my workplace had adopted a zero tolerance policy towards physical and verbal abuse and disrespectfulness of any kind between patients and between staff members.

Unfortunately it is not just caretakers who abuse the vulnerable. My dear friend was dying of cancer and her daughter took her phone away from her so she couldn't talk with her friends. She spent the last weeks of her life thinking that we had all abandoned her!
