The way they pronounce “parmesan” is a reference/continuation from Season 6 Episode 1. In that episode they are forced to go to another dimension after Mr. Frundles takes over Earth, and Rick says in this version of Earth everyone pronounces the word as par-mee-sian 😂

Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon wrote the storyboards together, but Justin was becoming more and more absentee while Dan was simultaneously bringing in most of his writers from Community, Justin took this as an attack on himself so stopped going to work completely and had some strong harsh words to Dan. I believe that Dan is the true heart and mind of RnM, with the body coming from Justin, while they both made the skeleton. There’s of course still heavy motivations present but it will be fine, we might even see more moments of emotion and seriousness, and definitely more depth.

The post-credit scene accented just how poignant and tragic Rick’s story was. Slow-Mobius’s widow was starting to go down the same dark path of grief and revenge, but by pure chance she bumped into somebody early along the way that helped kickstart the process of feeling whole again. Her timeline diverged, probability did its thing, and she went down a different path. By the time she’s made a second family with her new beau, we see Slow-Mobius’s picture still on the bedside table; he’ll always be missed, and she won’t completely move on, but at least she’s surrounded by new loved ones and looks happier for it. Rick didn’t have that chance, but we do see him surrounded by loved ones at the dinner table at the end. Same situation, same choice: succumb to despair, or move on despite it. Rick has the opportunity for a new purpose, if he wants it. The former Mrs. Slow-Mobius said yes; Rick is undecided for now.

As far as Roiland being a "creative" part of "Rick & Morty," according to the folks in the writers' room and the head writer, for the last few years, the ONLY time they ever saw Roiland was when he came to record the voices. He wasn't actually a part of the writing or creative decisions for quite some time now. Also, according to Roiland, the family lives outside of Seattle, Washington. Considering the above, take that for what you will...

The "par-ME-sian" joke is a call back to season 6 episode 1 "Solaricks" where everyone gets returned to their original universe after Rick tries to reset the portal fluid. At the end of the episode they all make it back to the universe they had been living in currently and original Jerry is there (they were switched at a Jerry-boree) and he releases "Mr. Frundles" who loves to bite things because thats also how he reproduces. Anything bitten by a "Mr. Frundles" becomes a "Mr. Frundles". The family escapes to space as the entire Earth becomes a giant "Mr. Frundles". Rick takes everyone to a new universe that he says is exactly the same as the one they left except these versions of them were dead. As they buried the bodies of that universes family he concedes the one difference here is they say parmesan different. "Par-ME-sian"

The Morty that we have been following is “Morty Prime” as he was originally from Rick Prime’s reality, Rick C-137 (the one we’ve been following the whole show) was basically squatting in the “Prime” universe waiting for that reality’s Rick to return. I also think that Rick Prime killed all the other Diane’s with the Omega Device after he visited our Rick and had his offer refused. Prime states that Rick used a version of “their”wive’s voice implying that Rick prime also had a Diane that he killed…possibly using the Omega Device on her specifically to erase all the others.

Also also, not every multiversal traveler has a “Finite Curve” Rick built that himself specifically so that he would be the only person to have access to portal travel, that’s why Evil Morty wanted to leave, Because that section of the multiverse is overly saturated by Ricks as the dominant intelligence. Rick is so egotistical that he separated his infinite selves away from any other possible reality where he isn’t the smartest man in the universe.

  • @rhettsumner5127

Problem is that from ricks backstory in s5 finale, we know Rick prime dropped a bomb on our Ricks (c137) Diane and Beth and they died that way. It’s implied in this new episode though that Rick prime built and used the omega device after our Rick came after him, which we didn’t see in the flashback from s5. My guess is prime did it to teach our Rick and all ricks a lesson, as he doesn’t believe in familial attachments and it’s obviously narcissistic asf. Another cool theory i read about recently is the possibility that our Rick never could actually get close to finding prime like we see in his backstory. But at some point along the line our rick possibly visited primes original timeline before morty was around and prime’s Diane was still alive, who our Rick promptly slept with. Thus, triggering Rick Prime to build the omega device and wipe all Diane’s from the mv in retaliation. Either theory works well with the lore the show has established but the second one is so juicy 😂

Actually i think there is a scientific relation to white peple and snow.... people in snowy climates with less sun evolved/developed lighter skin tone to better obsorb the suns rays which is how humans produce vitamin d and in places without snow and more sun people evolved/developed darker skin to protect themselves from too much sun. I remember learning something like that a long time ago.

  • @Cbricklyne

So many things wrong with what you said, I don't even know where to begin. Firstly, lack of melanin in the skin is not an "evolution" in that sense of the word, but was more of a mutation/adaptation by our early ancestors who left Africa to Europe and Asia and it was an adaptation to lower sunlight at higher latitudes, yes. ("Mutation" and "Evolution" are not the same nor interchnageable and if anything in the histiory and development of living organisms are kind of opposite processes to each other. Evolution takes hundreds of thousands of years while mutation is more sudden and on a much shorter time scale.) Secondly, Sunlight is not how we produce vitamin D, but rather is a necessary component in how Vitamin D is processed in our physiology through our skin. We don't "get" vitamin D from Sunlight. We get it from the food we eat, and the body has to process it to allow it to be used in organs, which is where Sunlight comes into play by supplying the energy to do so, and the process takes place at the dermis (skin). Yes, darker skin is indeed part of our "evolution" or rather the evolution of our ancestors living in SUb-Saharan AFrica (where man first evolved from), which gets a lot of sunlight and was necessary after they lost hair or fur from their skin that other mammals have, and it was a necessary evolution to protect the inner cells from UV ray damage from the Sun. There's no necessarily direct evolutionary connection between "white people" and "snow"...per se. The people we refer to as Inuits (generally and incorrectly called "Eskimos") live in some of the snowiest and coldest regions of Earth and most of them have tanner and darker skin than Northern Europeans.

@@Cbricklyne Do you realize that you didn’t really contradict anything, but just provided more details on explaining a scientific theory? There was no way I was going to detail all of this because you’d end up writing a novel just to explain the basics. You even mentioned the specifics of vitamin D metabolism, which really has nothing to do with the theory we’re speaking of, so I’m not sure why you mentioned it. Discussing evolution is discussing genetic mutation by default, because that’s what propels evolution in the first place. The difference is time, not method. There’s spontaneous mutations that occur, as well as a series of mutations that occur over millions of years. It seems that you take issue with the theory, which is fine, but the theory does exist; it didn’t originate with anyone here. Its just being repeated.

I think you guys took the message in Amort too literally. The question is, if you knew where the stuff you really enjoy comes from, would you still want it? Think of the countries where the materials for your electronics or fuel comes from. Especially materials from conflict-ridden countries. Think blood diamonds etc. While it might be easier to shrug off what happens to animals, thinking of the impact on people makes it a bit harder to digest (pun intended). So the point (imo) is, ignorance is bliss. I'd just rather not know.

I think I like single episode reactions more for current shows like this, and with shows that are already released like The Office or Bleach I'd probably like these more binge-y style reactions. This format has an appeal, but I literally don't pay enough attention to shows to remember what day of the week they get released on, I would first notice a new episode is out to Loki or Invincible or R&M because a reaction would show up the next day from you guys, reminding me to go watch it for myself.

-“That’s Amore” (song/movie) … “Unforgiven” (movie) … “Defending Your Life” (movie). - I heard that this season was animated after Roiland was let go & the new guys had to dub over them - “UnMortRicken” seems like a natural ending for the show, where our questions about WHY Rick is the way he is have been answered. At best I’d say we just hit the mid-point and will have fewer eps to the series finale then we’ve had to date.

Fair enough but I think people today are low balling shows as mid till they do stuff like this and shoot too much of thier load fast to get hype. All hype and little left in the tank is an easy way to also lose interest. Like marvel today doing their big stories and having the lower liked left. Would have helped to make entire stories no influence good or bad mixed in from scratch. Now they must appease a fan base who needs Loki season 2 levels of big to get invested. Nothing low stakes works. Then again there are people who only want low steaks and others who want everything to be connected and others who don’t want everything to be connected and people who want to all end and people who want to reset, etc. the fans are kind of the issue as well in hype and wanting instead of how we used to watch, shows where we graded the show off of what it gave us not what we wanted all the time
