This thing worked amazingly for 3 months.... Something went bonkers in it, and I found that it seems to be something others are running into as well.

Ooh I just was having issues with my old ass EasyCap on Linux. This probably is very worth the upgrade...

I see its on sale rn on amazon for $44. Might pick one up, though I don't have much use for it. I tried using my old 5800k APU system with Manjaro as an encoding PC with NDI. Could only get 30fps, I tuned it some and could get 60 but it was quite blurry. Could use this to see if it was NDI or just the encoding machine being so old.

I bought mine "open box" on eBay and there was stuff shaking around inside of it. Ironically, it was the "perceived value weight" which had broken off of all its supports and was floating freely. Glad to know it was just dead weight that I can remove.

Hardware management is one of the major reasons I switched to Linux. Even 10, 15 years go. VASTLY superior to managing hardware in Windows.

Appreciate the video, I want a linux capable capture card and its currently on sale!

Good choice!

Been on a dual PC stream setup for a while now with NDI/OBS STUDIO setup. Recently starting digging into capture cards as I play comp PUBG and want to reduce any/all ingame input lag. Had a huge issue with input lag even tho I used "dedicated NVNC encoder" on my 2080Ti before going 2 PC. Current setup: Gaming Rig -OBS NDI. Stream PC: OBS with NDI and does all the encoding. Would going to a capture card such as this one reduce input lag ingame and resources used on the gaming rig?

It's pretty good on my Fedora 35 system with a RX6600XT , 32GB of Ram , and A Ryzen 5600x with VAPPI.

So… just wanted to let you know that after my old crappy usb capture card did not work in a new setup I was going to implement I remembered this video and… ordered mine today. You influencer you.

I am having a delay issue on linux with my XR1 (regular not lite). Is this a known issue ? Thx

I can't get audio to work when using USB 3.0 however it works only using 2.0 Does anyone have a solution? All firmware has been updated by the way.

How do you do firmware updates on Linux? I have the same audio delay issue and the only solution I can think of is a firmware update but the drivers are only for windows 10.

I'm just going to say this... Do you know.... how many channels do cross comparisons without showing the exact same portion of the image? Thank you... Seriously.

Does it use the UVC driver?? I can't just install any driver because I'm running Linux on a PS4, so I have to re-compile the drivers to work on it 🤣

It uses UVC yeah but I don't recommend this if you're on Linux as there is an audio delay issue with this card

does the regular XR1 work on linux?

@@linuxgamecast I bought the XR1 and I am experiencing an audio delay issue, Do you know a fix to this? It seems the lite has the same issue, I've seen some forum posts regarding it but to my knowledge a solution only exists for Windows 10.

Can it do 1080p 120hz passthrough

No feet were harmed during the production of this video... mostly.

I personally dislike when people feature some product as "cheap/affordable" then not mention the price anywhere in title, thumbnail, description or pinned comment.

That's because prices change. When I made the video it was $79, now it's $67, and a few months ago it was $85. If you are relying on a price listed in the "title, thumbnail, description or pinned comment" it's most likely incorrect.

Imagine still using NVIDIA in Linux in 2021.......
