    Your videos are, give or take, 3 times longer than other channels of similar genre. BUT, I never skip even a second of your videos. On other channels, I usually just jump right at the benchmarks. But for your videos, no kidding, I feel like I am at a very important lecture and if I skip I WILL miss something that'll definitely be in the exam(the purchasing exam). I really appreciate the effort you put in your videos. No offence to other channels, but most of them are simply game centred. Your channel is Tech Deals, which means it's more about getting the most out of every rupee(I am from India) I spend and not just getting the most expensive components. Professional, thorough and most importantly YOU DO NOT CONDESCEND your viewers. Not everybody is well versed with the technicalities of computing, and you get that. As always, great video. I know this is a loooong comment. Your videos really help.

    I think the reason people dislike this video specifically is either because 24 minutes of lecture, disagree with this guy because they are AMD fans, disagree because the 1060 is worth it, or... they dislike for no reason. They just want someone like YOU to make this comment and laugh for no reason.

It's so much better that having some benchmark graphs on the screen. Like the video you did breaking down the 1060s and why you should consider buying the higher vram version.

    There's one big factor you forgot to mention, about the gtx 1050ti vs gtx 1060 3gb performance per dollar debate and it's the cpu. If you have a pentium or i3 cpu, than the 1060 3gb won't be 75% faster than the gtx 1050ti in games like gta5 or battlefield 1 mp, especially in battlefield 1 mp (cpu heavy game) there won't be a difference between the two cards, the i3 can even bottleneck the gtx 1050ti at times. But if you have at least an i5 you will get 75% more performance in all games with the gtx 1060 3gb. So it comes down to what cpu you have.

  • @HayateAzekura

    @HayateAzekura

    7 жыл бұрын

    The i3-6100 will NOT BOTTLENECK a GTX 1050ti. Dont just look at one benchmark out there. In the end of the day the GTX 1060 3gb is far better deal than a GTX 1050ti as it can play alot of games on ultra that the 1050 cant.

  • @joshmarvz

    @joshmarvz

    gta v is just cpu intensive game thats why it would perform less on an i3 than an i5. i think theres no or just a little bottleneck there.

    I know pretty much everything this guy talks about in all of his videos but I still enjoy watching. I always imagine this as the perfect channel for a complete PC novice or a parent looking to sort out a gaming PC for their child. Everything is broken down into bite sized info and nothing is too detailed. Do you need to know exactly what FPS a card gets in 15 recent games? No you don't all you need to know is that this card will generally get you High settings at 1080p at 60 FPS. If any of the tech channels on youtube ever had a chance of going truly mainstream then this would be on the list. There's a hell of a lot more people that don't know and don't really care to research than there are people who wanna get into the nitty gritty

    Thank you for the kind words... You're right on the money, that is exactly what I'm aiming for, a mainstream channel that doesn't get into core counts or production process... notice in this video I never once talk about 14nm Samsung vs 16nm TSMC? Who cares? Well, ok, some people do, but that has nothing to do with the way a card plays games. It does what it does.

    Outstanding review as always, most informative and entertaining. I noticed that this particular card was out of stock and low stock for most vendors late Aug early Sept. The average street price went up from $150-160 to $189-$210. Do not be tempted to overpay for this card due to greedy a-hole sellers taking advantage of all of you fine people. The availability issue will be resolved shortly as new shipments arrive in the U.S., as of today most venders will be restocked. There were a few vendors who did not jack up their prices due ti the shortage. One of them was a company called NextWarehouse. Hats off to these fine people for not being A-Holes. Its up to all of you to not allow street prices to climb or be allowed to climb. Don't pay over $159 for this card.

    Dude, thank you for always spelling out what things stand for! (Like PCB = printed circuit board.) Also, true to your name, you saved me another $10 with your single vs. dual fan comments! You're right, the processor pulls more wattage and it has a little fan. Never thought of it that way. So when are you going to start introducing yourself and branding the channel? What's your name, bud? I'm Dan and I'm a fan. Keep up the GREAT work!!!

    Your channel is definitely one of my favorites. I watch it daily and learn a lot from it. I just bought a custom-built PC intended to be used 100% as a graphic design workhorse. No gaming at all. It has an i7 6850 six-core, Samsung 960 Pro (1TB) and 32GB of RAM and a 750W power supply I went with the 1050ti (4GB) because I do not intend to play any games, period, and I would use the card strictly for Photoshop. This is my work computer, so I spent most of my money on the processor, the drive, etc. Ironically, I have to say that my $1250 Asus ROG 751 laptop (which came with a 965M card) that is "only" 4 cores and has "only" 16GB of RAM and a mechanical drive actually is a lot faster when it comes to Photoshop! A laptop! I was severely disappointed with my new machine, and now love the Asus ROG laptop even more. Would you say that if I upgrade the card to a 1060 or higher model I would benefit, performance-wise, when it comes to using Photoshop? I was under the impression that the 1050 should be more than enough for NON-gamers. Or perhaps the difference in performance lies in the OS? (the Asus laptop has Win 8.1, the new machine Win 10). Your feedback is appreciated! Keep up the amazing work!

Thanks for all the reviews - I know i'ts a year out, but I bet on a GTX 1060 3GB - can't wait for it to arrive. And agree with you will probably still have 3 years of life before games require more than 3 GB at 1080P

    4gb on a 960 makes no sense unless you run high res texture mods or really high resolution games over 1440p (at which point the GPU is too slow to make use of the extra frame buffer anyway).

    My Lenovo H50 AMD A10 7800 based system is now happily humming along with a Zotac GTX1050 Ti OC. It was the absolute best option for me to upgrade the onboard R7 Graphics in this machine. My choices boiled down to hybrid crossfiring with an R7 250, a standalone RX460, or some version of the GTX 1050 or 1050 Ti. The GTX 1050 Ti outperforms all possible choices for upgrades that stay under 75W of power draw and the Zotac card I got is the fastest of all GTX 1050 Ti cards right now. Be careful, though. Some variants of the 1050 Ti have a 6-pin connector and can pull up to 120W. Make sure of what you are buying before you put your money out and then find out that your PSU can't handle the card you bought.

    This one is perfect to replace my dusty, old GTX745 inside my Alienware X51 R2. While it's true that $50 more allows you to buy a better 1060 model, they need a more powerful 330w PSU, and genuine units also cost around $50. My budget is tight and I'm fine playing at 720p, so it's a great option considering I wouldn't need to buy anything else.

    Honestly the biggest reason for an RX 470 is how much cheaper the freesync monitors are, and how much of a benefit it gives at this price point when you can play with 50-70 FPS instead of always having to meet that 60 Hz target all the time.

    Hey Tech Deals nice video! Which would you rather prefer a used GTX 970 or a new 1060? Im debating on what GPU I would buy. So far, i've seen videos comparing a 970 to a 1060 and they go head to head. A used 970 would usually go $150. So which would you recommend?
