You're welcome! There is a pre-soldered wire harness, I removed it and soldered my crossfire on the same pads but you can just use the included connector and plug it into that harness.

Our pocket / wallet hate this hobby :P By "cheater conversion" I mean a dual analogue FPV camera setup, one at the front and one at the back. I doubt it can be done with a DJI FPV setup, don't know for sure though.

Are those PWM controlled? I decided to go with PinIO via UART, I found it to be more easily applicable on most flight stacks that I have right now.

This video is awesome! After much debate I just ordered one of these a week ago. I have a Megabee V2.1 and I have not been able to get it to fly correctly. Can't wait to fly this one! Did your Megabee V2.1 have any issues with the OSD flickering or with really bad yaw twitches?

Just received one I ordered only 3 days ago from Pyro Drone. I have a FrSky X9 Lite S and batteries for both. Other than skills and goggles, what do I need? USB right-angle adapter, a receiver... which one do I need? I don't need to know what anything weighs, but thank you for all the info you've provided in this nicely made video.

You're welcome! I included more info about the weight of the parts because the Taycan is a bit on the heavy side but some parts can be removed / replaced with lighter ones. I will shave some weight off from mine when I convert it to a cheater quad setup, the parts finally arrived. For FrSky receivers you can't go wrong with the XM+, it is cheap and reliable. The right angle USB adapter is very convenient to have. You don't need anything else, only practice :)

Great video! Does the Foxeer video look like that right out of the cam, because it looks like the footage is placed in a sequence that doesnt mathematically match up producing skipped or dropped frames. It has a very distinctive look so thats my opinion.

Seems to be a great quad... have ordered one... maybe will I get it by end 2020 (thanks corona!!)? That is if I am still alive by then! I have ordered a caddx ratel to swap with the nano runcam that I hate (way too saturated for me), and ordered a runcam 5 orange 🍊 (haven’t got the budget for a GoPro 7 or 8... nor the skills for flying, to be honest). How is the vtx? Is it good or should I swap it for a rush tank mini? ... can’t wait to get back flying. Take care and thanks for the video!

You're welcome, everything's gonna be alright, as long as we stay calm and cautious. The VTx was good, I didn't have any issues with it. Ratel is a good choice, I am a bit sceptical about their QC but I haven't had any problems with mine yet.

Hi, great video! I’m new to cinewhooping and am starting out with the Taycan. Love the build but it seems incredibly loud. Screams like a banshee and I’m finding that my props are coming off pretty regularly. Is this to be expected or am I making a mistake somewhere in my setup? I’ve thumb tightened the locking nuts to secure the props in the configuration shown in this video, seemed like tightening them with any kind of tool could damage the motors. Would love some advice from a more experienced user, as it stands finding the thing too noisy to use in many places. Also can recommend and quieter props to look into? Thanks all!

Thank you very much! The ducted configuration with a prop spinning like crazy inside it can only be loud :P Can't get around that. I assume the props that fly off more often are the ones spinning clockwise (which loosen the nut more easily because of their rotation), that's because you have to tighten the locknuts all the way. You won't damage anything, don't worry about it, just find a way to hold the motor (from underneath) that is convenient for you.

You're welcome! If you can't find them in your UK-based shops maybe try drone-fpv-racer (france) and n-factory (germany?), I hope you find them there. Otherwise Banggood, Aliexpress and the rest that take forever to arrive :P

Hello! I have no idea, mine has the old motors that take M5 nuts :) Measure the height of your prop hub and add a few mm (probably 2?) for the motor bell thickness.

I expect this to be a problem with most other cinewhoops (unless the air unit is mounted vertically). For the SD card, can you get it in and out with tweezers?

These were the ones from my Megabee, I don't have an STL to share. The surface around the screws was thin so I used the stock screws.

The screws are probably for 1.5mm allen, I can't check right now. I have mixed the electric screwdriver bits with the bits of my iFixIt kit, the iFixIt definitely had this size, the wowstick I have to check.

Did you add the LED ducts? I can't get mine to stay on, they flash once with the battery plugged in and thats it. They will not stay solid.

I got a set of the new plastic ducts (not 3D printed) but not the LEDs, it is a nice effect but no need to add any more weight to the Taycan.

I already bought this excellent cinewhoop. 👍👍👍 Do you think the hero8 mount of iflight will fit to this taycan frame?

I don't have the camouflage mount to try. I have linked in the description the 3D files of Diatone for a mount, if you want to have one printed.

Please check the manual and the VTx table that I have linked in the video description. You either need to unlock the VTx or set up the VTx table in Betaflight properly, if it did not work right out of the box :)

Thank you for this video ! Help me a lot to set up my taycan 6S PNP (VTX table part with BF4.1 which is not configure by default...) But, I can't have any video signal... and I have configure a VTX table and unlock the VTX, all frequency should be available, but when I auto search (or setup the good frequency) with my RD200 or my Fatshark => nothing. And when I change settings though Betaflight, my VTX does not change... When I change settings though VTX buttons LED are changing (channel and band), but when I try to check with my HDO/ RD200 on the same frequency set => nothing. (I'm unlock, @200mw, and I used yours VTX Table in description) (UART 3 is for the VTX in BF, white wire = TX3 on the FC to AUDIO on the VTX) What I'm missing ? Thank you very much for any help !

Is it possible that your VTx is in pit mode? Check in the VTx table settings in case you set a specific startup setting. If not, press and hold the Power Adjustment button for 3 seconds, which toggles pit mode ON and OFF.

@@thenopefacefpv6722 if you enable vtx info on your OSD (or enter the settings menu to check the frequency) , does it match what the VTx LEDs show? Do you see static or black image at that frequency?

You need to take that foam off and equip a brush guard if you are going to go plowing into parking lot weeds like you just don't GAF.

We first need to find out exactly what receiver your quad has. Can you please check your order and tell me if it says the receiver model? I don't have the latest Taycan but mine had the Flight Controller and ESC in the middle and the VTx at the back (it was a PnP version so I had to add the receiver myself)

@@muteFPV I have the Toka 1606 2700kv motors. However, it looks like I need to push the center clear plastic part down a little bit farther. Now the screw reaches the motor threads, but barely! Like one or two windings. I'm going to change to 5 bladed Gemfan props anyway.

I used a crossfire, stuck it on the carbon bottom plate with VHB and mounted the antenna in the rear 3D printed section. The buzzer if I remember correctly I soldered one my slim 5V buzzers straight onto the FC.

You can wrap it with (clear) heatshrink and stick it with VHB adhesive tape on the carbon main plate, near the back, so that you can pass and mount the antennas from the rear 3D print.

So I found the diatone mxc taycan 3 6s pnp version and the bnf version on bangood, and I really want to order from CZ(im from hungary and don't wanna order from china). The problem is, that only just the pnp version is avivable with cz shipping. And the question is this: what does have the bnf version, that the pnp version doesn't and what will I need to get for the pnp version to work well? It would be very great if you could help in that question, because only 4 left in stock.😃(and sorry for bad english)

Hello! I think you mean product ID 1614670 on banggood. Based on what it days, you will only need to add a receiver (and a battery) to fly. It also says that CZ warehouse sells the version with the older motors (1408) - this is the one I have too and it flies well (4S version) but it won't be with the latest motors if you get it from CZ warehouse.

It does support Tramp (unless they changed something since I got mine). Have you set up the VTx table in Betaflight too? I have the VTx table I used linked in the description.

@@muteFPV no i didnt not setup the vtx table .does that need to be done before the cli will save a setting?? i did unlock the vtx and now it will remember my setting when i change lipos which was my end goal .before the unlock it would revert back to 25mw on every lipo change . i also tried to open uart3 and set it to tramp but apon reboot the port was closed . is the vtx on uart3?

Sorry I can't remember which port Tramp was on, please check the video, I always show footage from the betaflight settings. VTx tables have to be set up properly in order for smart / tramp audio to work.

I have this quad, I crashed it pretty hard and now it dies when it touches objects (light bumps) or flips over aggressively. I think the gyro and/or the FC has taken damage. Ordered a new stack, hopefully that fixes it. It's a great little quad.

Take a look at the connector of the cable harness between the ESC and FC, or try to solder the cables directly between the two boards. People have reported that this connection starts becoming loose over time. I haven't had that yet with mine but have experienced it in another diatone quad with (I think) the same stack.

@@muteFPV I disconnected and reconnected the fc to esc bridge. The quad flies but stops or trips out with minor impact. I put a new rx in. I think the gyro is broken or esc has a temp short. If I can be bothered, I'll blackbox log it to see what happens.

If the connectors are faulty / loose, unplugging and plugging back in won't fix it. Does the FC or ESC reboot when this happens?

I have zero experience with Flysky but it should be very straight forward to do (as long as the drone has a Flysky receiver ofcourse)

I doubt there is any ducted cinewhoop that is washout-free. As always, you can adapt and adjust your descend so you don't fall right into your dirty stream of air, but it cannot behave like other setups with no ducts.

Which version do you have (with what receiver) and what radio are you trying to pair it with? Have you located the receiver on the quad?

If you buy a PNP version without the DJI system can you add a DJI system after?

I suppose yes but don't take my word for it. Better ask them to be sure (on Facebook or on their website), I don't know where and how they mount the air unit. Also not sure if their DJI version has the same FC or different. Sorry for not being helpful :)

Double sided VHB tape, stuck onto the bottom carbon plate. And the immortal T antenna mounted to the stock TPU holder at the back.

Thank you very much :) I think I "stole" the landing pads from my iFlight Megabee. I am sure you can find similar ones on thingiverse. There is a PnP version so you can use whichever Rx you want / have already.

Probably only the Gemfan 75mm (stock prop). The shape of the duct is very specific and the tips of the Gemfan prop sit lower than its hub (and match the duct very well).

Hello! It is not hard, whichever receiver you choose. The pads are not large though so if you find it intimidating take your time, don't rush it :) or ask someone to do it for you (and show you) if that's a possibility.

Will turtle mode work on this model? Thanks!

Does the FC restart or something? No idea but I would check all the wiring. Also remove props, power on and shake it / bump it to see if it also shuts down.

@@muteFPV i guess the FC does restart or something as soon it hits the floor the motors stops also the goggle goes blank and vtx starts flashing but kwad stays powered on and I cannot re-arm afterwards

Is all the wiring OK? If you power ON (no props) and shake the wires does it happen?

@@muteFPV well while bench testing it i read on a forum that suposedly the failsafed if that mode isnt configured, well I did and now it stopped, I just set it to stage 1 because my noob ass doesnt know betaflight (1st drone)

@@jezMki oh ok! Although it should be stage 1 in default settings. Someone was playing around huh? ;)

The ducts are ribbed for extra rigidity, OK sir ;)
