Ican get them to germinate but after that they die. I think my soil is off. Do they like moist or dry conditions?

Will pinching off healthy blooms encourage more? My nasties seem to only get one or two flowers every season

I grow them in pots and they don't do well. Can't tell if I'm over or under watering

I've never been able to keep nasturtium. I'm in zone 8. Are they heat tolerant and do they need full sun?

I'm in Georgia and it gets HOT and HUMID. My nasturtium grow in the full sun. Soil is mostly clay but has some organic matter. They grow just fine. I planted late April. Plant before it get hot though, sprouts may not survive if sown when it gets 90 fahrenheit. I water when they start to droop, which is typically twice a week.

My plant has 3 flowers at the moment. One has a seed, the 2nd flower is drying and 3rd is normal. I want more flowers but I also want seeds so that I can grow them again next year. I don't want to deadhead flowers any sooner than I need to and want seed to be developed enough before I pull it off. So how do I know when to do that?

let the seed's naturally dry and collect them from the ground. they like full morning sun and shade for the rest of the day. the soil should be of an organic soil that retains a lot of water, not potting soil ect it's too light and needs watering and maintenance too often. don't worry about bad flower's, they will turn into seed's. don't hang them, they need the moisture from the soil on hotter days to cool them and in the cooler months they will root into more ground. happy growing 😉😊

I've tried growing from seed (different varieties) but they never germinate. I live in a very hot country and have tried germinating indoors and outdoors in winter (around 25°C) but can't get them to germinate. Any suggestions?

Use a nail filer to scrape the seeds before planting and use a heat mat with grow lights. I did this with my nasturtiums and they germinated within a week.

cut flowers/foliage, edible (although i prefer the flower as a garnish, or just overall beauty! they are a lovely flower and have a drooping effect depending on the variety

Both the greens and flowers are edible. The flowers make a pretty garnish as well. They also work as a companion plant in the garden, plant with your veggies as a trap crop.
