But it's not... the math on the years doesn't add up. Valerie was taken in 2018... at some point after that she wrote her letter that was found by V. After the escape from Larkhill, V spent around 20 years putting his plan together, as he says at the end of the film. Then there's the fact that Evie's "void" work ID says it expires in 2024, meaning it is after 2024 given that she is still working at BTN at the beginning of the film and therefore the idea found by the inspectors is expired. I love this film, yet I realized today while rewatching it that the years in this movie 100% do not track, and there is no way the film is set in 2020 based on things stated by and shown in the movie itself.

The letter “V” in the original Latin alphabet stood for two sounds: the vowel /u/ and the semi-vowel /w/. I always took it to be a way to say V is You. You are V. He subverts saying exactly who he is, never pulling off the mask, then sends tons of them out. Since no one has ever seen his face, putting on the same mask makes you completely identical to the only form of who or what he is, an idea.

He didn't do it all for his own selfish reasons. He did it for Valerie. Thats why he leaves roses on all his victims. The term Vendetta literally means: “a blood feud in which the family of a murdered person seeks vengeance on the murderer” He saw her as family. The only family he had in that hell hole. And he made it his mission in life to avenge her death and any other brother and sister and father and mother and lover who had been discriminated against.

Speaking for myself cold triggers my asthma, and if I were only wearing a thin rag of clothing as she is while 'imprisoned' I'd be getting sick myself. I just can't help but wonder what V would have done, come in and saved her? Then she would have had to question her 'torturer's' concern for her.... He can't let her die until she reaches her 'no more fear' epiphany..

"Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it's my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V." Movie land rarely shows reality when it comes to shooting people in things that are "bullet proof" unless they're feigning death, in which case they fall over backwards silently rather than grabbing their ribs and yelling. V's mask for instance. Hooray, a bullet didn't penetrate your face. However the force of getting hit that hard in the face will probably cause a fatal head injury.

Not really. People were rioting against police brutality, but the deal is: police brutality isn't going up. It's actually going down. Not even the forever repeated idea that black people are constantly being killed by cops is true. That's not even close to being true. People were actually rioting against what they see Trump as: the amalgamation of all that is evil. Trump is not a good person, but he's not Hitler nor the root of all evil. People are deluded in this regard. They are confused and have no idea what they really want. Just look at Chaz, the Autonomous Capitol. It was supposed to be representative of the fight against police brutality, division (walls), etc. The first thing they created was and armed group to police the place. Those chosen ones ended up being abusive towards the people in it. They also made borders and controlled them strictly. People are so deluded nowadays that they are being downright stupid.

Personally, I think they did a great job condensing the graphic novel into a film. They explained just enough back story to make sense without sounding like a documentary, and changes they made to the characters were done in a way that furthered the story. They had a hard task ahead of them, and despite the mistakes they made (most were really minor and nitpicky in all honesty) created one of the most culturally significant movies of the last decade.

I personally think this movie is very overrated. V? Black and white? You don't see all the people that he killed in this movie? In the comics he even more morally ambiguous than this movie, he was for the full anarchy than give a value message to the people. And the only character that you need to sympathize from the Norseparty and it need to be morally ambiguous is Fitch. Yeah, people really would love to see members of a Totalitarian government being nice and dandy with the people that they oppress, viewers would love that.

TheKeyser94 Kind of my point. He's not supposed to be good or bad, he just fights for what he believes to be the right thing. But in this movie he is so simplified... He wants revenge, kills for revenge and destroys for revenge. In the comic he had a vision, and did what was necessary to achieve that vision.

it is actually standard practice to aim for the chest, or rather the center of mass, seeing as a chest shot is going to, in a normal scenario, be just as lethal as a head shot, and the chest is a much bigger target than the head. Furthermore, since these are trained guards, it makes sense that they would all follow protocol, and aim for the center of mass, since that's how you're actually supposed to do it. The only real reason to go for the head is if you want to kill them instantly, or if you think that they could get medical attention that could save them from a chest wound, for example a sniper trying to kill a commander who had bodyguards around him. That's not the case in this though.
