Exactly! The first one was good, it had an interesting plot and was the most realistic of them all. Although I think they could have done the ending a little better, Kim seemed very okay with the fact that she was kidnapped and forced into sex slavery and her best friend was killed.

TheManOfRash Perhaps, even in its exaggeration, it would've been a bit better if Taken 2 took place maybe a decade or so later with a scarred and guilt-ridden Kim dedicating a career to some agency making sure that what happened to her and her friend never happens to anyone else again. She's willingly found the courage to put her life on the line not realizing that she may be following in her father's footsteps(something Bryan never wanted her to do). Not to necessarily say that she gets kidnapped, but veteran Bryan Mills and Kim unite to rescue captive people from a vicious underworld of slave traders. Something like that. But that's just me.

Liam is only 64 yrs old. Plenty of time for Kim to have twins. Then they get kidnapped from daycare and grandpa has to save them. You know Taken 4 and 5 are being shot as we speak. The check to Liam is just too big to turn down.

Finite Atticus he would have been, had they not had him playing a pig. actually i find it insulting that Whitaker would even agree to star in a pos movie like this.

My biggest plot issue was taking the character of Stewart, knocking 20 years off his age, and then having him, a rich and successful businessman, kill his wife for insurance money. Worse than that, he's willing to put a gun to his step daughters head, whom he has been the active father to for many years now, and once bought her a pony. My biggest editing issue came from the number of epileptic-seizure-causing cuts in the action scenes. "We didn't write a good plot, so we'll just confuse the audience with the fastest paced film cuts ever!"

Now I am 99% sure that if you managed to skin Liam Neeson and wear his skin, you would become immortal, bulletproof, fireproof, impact-proof, and adept at finding split-second escape routes from any situation. Of course, the hardest part would be finding something that can skin him to begin with. Maybe atomic lasers or diamond-nanocarbon scalpels?

When they REPLACED the ex-wife's husband for this film, I knew it was going to be bad. Turning him into a random villain was a bad touch.

Kolbatsu Indeed, that was one of the silliest scenes in the movie; it's the classic insane notion of ramming fake tension down the audience's throat via fast cuts & pacey music. If the events unfolding had any genuine suspense, such methods shouldn't be necessary. I wish directors would look back to proper quality flicks like the French Connection, Bullit, etc., remember how it can be done right & with style. No wonder with modern movies Jeremy has to say so often, No... idea... what's... happening!! The only thing worse is when they combine it with Jerky Camera - if you want a really awful example of this practice, watch Iron Clad 2, a movie which would actually be reasonably ok (for what it is) except for the ridiculous camera shake (edit update re I.C. 2: that film has massive camera shake & OTT music even when nothing is happening at all). Ian.

+Kolbatsu Agreed, the editing was my lest favorite part. Like the scene where the car is being pushed off the cliff. That could have been done with 2-3 shots where we see a couple of different angles over the course of 10-15 seconds. Instead they decided to use like 40 shots.

How many people died, and how much property damage did he do in this ONE SCENE; and I bet that once he finds proof that he didn't do, they let him walk scott free." I would LOVE to have seen the scene right after Liam leaves the chief of police's office, and then a bunch of cops immediately walk in to confront him about letting a guy go free after assaulting several cops, injuring and/or killing innocent civilians, AND all the damage done on just the highway alone.

3:21 perfectly defines my reaction to the action scenes. SO MANY QUICK CUTS!

Surprised you didnt put a sin in as well for the highway scene where the cops shoot at the police car with the other cop in the vehicle. Seriously, there is in no way in hell a cop would shoot at another cop.

***** the car was stopped when they started to shoot at it. it wasnt moving at the time. watch the movie again.

Totally agree! They'rw firing at a car with their man in the next seat. Also, (and this was the BIG one for me!) the car was smashed by two other cars running into the back end of it on both sides. The rear of that car would have been a pancake. But it still drives fine and looks fine too.

To be fair, in defense of the dumpster, considering his "particular set of skills," he's paranoid enough to desire an alternative means of escape. As such, he probably set the dumpster under his window himself, just in case he needed to jump out of it. Nobody would think twice about the location of the dumpster.
