This is the same Kidd and Killer that tanked some hits from Kaido and BM. Maybe even got stronger post Wano. Nonetheless, Shanks did not disappoint lol

The biggest suprise of 1079 was Shanks using "Divine Departure". Nice to see that Roger's fighting style lives on.

It is safe to assume that Shanks is currently "The World's Strongest Man" right now. He is after Blackbeard the most & I can't wait for them to clash because at Marineford Blackbeard wasn't ready & I know that he is more than ready now. It would be a perfect fight between a non-devil fruit crew & a devil fruit crew......

I had this thought while reading chapter 1079, and I think Shanks is more like Roger's son than Ace ever was. The fact that he uses Roger's sword techniques and inherited Roger's straw hat just makes me feel that way.

Keep in mind Shanks only makes a move when it affects the balance of power. Which means that he is trying to keep everyone in check including The World Government and that's why he went to go talk with them.

Counting Film Red, Shanks was a good father and fatherly figure at 14 with Uma as Roger was alive in Film Red. She is one if my favorite villian heroes.

It's also worth mentioning that part of shanks' motivation being in elbaf could also be to recruit Saul. If you remember, we found out that Saul survived O'Hara, saved the library of O'Hara and took it back to elbaf. My guess is he's studied the library over all those years and has probably learner how to read the poneglyphs. My theory is also that Saul is the man with the scar on his face (which is why kidd was interested in finding him) so, now shanks has 3 road poneglyohs and someone to decifer them, and if the fourth is on elbaf then he's pretty much on his way to laughtale.

Maybe Buggy getting sick wasn't a coincidence or fear driven. What if devil fruit users get violently ill (or the devil "fades") the closer they get to the final island? And knowing this, Shanks decided not to have a devil fruit user in his immediate crew 🤔

Shanks crew has no devil fruits because not being able to swim is a pirates biggest weakness. Nobody can down shanks and his crew, because they're all haki monsters, they counter devil fruits in a variety of ways, and cannot lose a battle at sea, since they will always be capable of fighting, as they dont lose their powers even if their ship is destroyed.

i always saw mihawk being a mirror to law in recent years as law is basically a honoury straw hat but he refuses to accept it even though he has spent a whole saga with the strawhats, and has a relucant attitude whenever him being associated with the strawhats is mentioned, and i think thats the same relationship shanks has with mihawk hes a relucant hononoury red hair pirate but hes such a solo chad that hes a power house on his own. there are so many mirrors for shanks and mihawk - roger/whitebeard, heck even luffy/katakuri, luffy/kid

I also think Shanks is working with the Gorosei, but not for his (/their) own goal, but to change the world for the better. The world needs a new light, the Sun God Nika's light! Which also contrasts with Blackbeard's darkness, and Im's grasp on the world.

I think the pirate Shanks wanted to talk about with the Gorosei is definetely Blackbeard. That's because the next time we see Shanks he is waiting next to Wano to stop Blackbeard if he shows up there. And now we know from 1079 that Shanks thought he would be there and that he is tracking his movements. Shanks probably knows something about Blackbeards ties with Rocks D Xebec, which his captain Roger fought against and warned the Gorosei about that connection. And obviously the Gorosei would fear anything that has to do with Rocks.

This was a W chapter!( one of the best chapters after wano)

Shanks also has a very strong prediction haki because we saw in the last chapter when Kid was about to eliminate the fleet within 10 seconds and then we saw Shanks and he is afraid of the future that will happen after 10 seconds so Shanks can see the future after 10 seconds or more

such a great in depth review, can’t wait to see what oda does with shanks by the end of the story, strength is parallel to, if not stronger than rogers based solely off feats thus far such a dope character he needs more screen time!!

Shanks really is a chad. There is barely anything known about him yet he is still one of the most popular one piece characters.

Possible explenation to why the gorosei were comfortable having a private discussion with shanks: They know that shanks works by pulling the strings to influence events so that the world still mantains order, for example: preventing kaido from joining in on the marineford war which would devestate the marines and destroy the balance of power in the world, and that shanks prefers talking over fighting (Unless you attack his people or the people who live in his territory like kid did)

Ik this is a bit of a stretch but one piece theory: what if the reason rogers crew burst out laughing was because the one piece is actually something to do with time travel and future foresight and they started laughing because they saw luffy was gonna become the next pirate king and change the world and the main reason they laughed is because they saw Monkey. D and realized it was garps grandson that would change the world

I think joyboy is needed for whatever Roger meant when he did "I guess you're waiting for the right person"(paraphrase) and he has figured all of this out. He made a secret alliance with the elders because he knows that BB's devil fruit is the only possible way to stop the sun God. That's why he's been going after him this entire time. Now that BB pirates arrived on egghead Island to kidnap vegapunk most likely works with the revolutionary army, he knows something about what their role is when the one piece is discovered

I think it's clear. Shanks decided to start his search for the one piece because the condition for finding it was the return of Joey Boy Roger learned that he came too early because Joey Boy hasn't appeared yet and won't appear for several years later as the prophecy said Shanks knows this condition and knows where the red bongliffs are, so he decides he won't move until Joey Boy appears.

Just an idea but the red hair pirates could do a Davy back fight against the strawhats for the final piece each crew needs, the red hair pirates needing Robin for reading the poneglyphs and the strawhats needing the final road poneglyph. This could be a good solution for making them fight with a good reason assuming shanks is not evil

My personal theory is that Shanks did, and still does, have a plan to use Luffy’s awakened fruit in a way that he believes to be “a solution for a better World”. Luffy on the other hand, will have a different opinion on how to use the fruit. Knowing that, Shanks will become the pirate king and in the final arc will make a “proposal” to Luffy. Both of them will have an “amicable” fight where they agree that the winner decides how the fruit will be used and consequently, the fate of the World. Luffy defeats Shanks, the most powerful character in the story, becomes the true Pirate King and fulfills his dream.

Maybe the fruit was ment for Ace, Rogger could have told him to find the fruit and give it to ace but Luffy eating it caught him by suprise. Because oit was we know Gap took Ace on Roggers request and is a bit strange that Shanks kept going to East Blue for no reason, I think he knew Ace was there but because Ace was in the forest there was no way for him to fulfil his mission hence the reason he came to Maurine Forge to save Ace but was to late.

I think Raftel has some prophecies. There’s a lot of evidence from Oden’s scenes and how everybody acts. It’s likely he had full confidence in what Roger asked him to do, but with what Blackbeard is doing, he is worried and wants to understand the prophecies the rest of Roger’s crew saw.

i think that luffy's awakening is like a key to unlock the one piece, so it is likely that shanks knows about this and that's why he waited so long and decided to find one piece as soon as luffy unlocked gear 5. But this brings up another question- "if shanks knew the key to unlock one piece is the hito hito no mi model nika, then why didn't he ate the fruit himself?"

The will of D might have something to do with it. Someone suggested that shanks might have wanted to give Ace the fruit, since he's Rogers son and a D.

Luffy would want to make Shanks Pirate King if he let him join his crew instead of wanting to become Pirate King himself. Shanks knows letting Luffy find his own path will make him work twice as hard.

Shanks, during the private conversation with the Gorosei, warned them about a pirate. Buggy the Genius Jester! xD

I'd like to think that the reason Sengoku stopped the War in Marineford after Shanks arrived could be exactly because Shanks is a Celestial Dragon and has a certain level of authority most Marines, hell, most people don't know about minus the Gorosei and by extension, Im. If Shanks is a Celestial Dragon posing as a Pirate or even if hes a Celestial Dragon with his own ambitions, that would be really crazy for the story.

Did Shanks manage to get the road poneglyphs. Before the 2 giants destroyed the ship? Because if not hes definitely going to get luffys one.

I don't think the 4th Load/road Poneglyph is on Elbaf, or Egg head, or the Island Heart Pirats was going to, but the last island before Laugh Tale, but it is hidden somewhere that only very few person who knew its location, and we know probably 2 of them, Jaguar D. Saul, and Dr. Vega Punk.

Tbh the shanks and rock theory would be a perfect extension of the evil shanks theory which doesnt make much sense cause of the goresei scene but it would still be cool, maybe no one knows about him being rocks son even shanks himself.

Shanks was basically raised by Roger. I'm sure he saw Roger as a father figure. Even if he has Celestial Dragon roots, he's a pirate raised by the King of Pirates so I'd bet he shares Roger's motivations. Roger said he was "too early", so whatever the One Piece is can't be claimed except at a specific time, which seems to be when Joy Boy returns. One piece was Roger's goal and is now Shank's goal. Shanks sacrificed his arm to teach Luffy something, an "investment" of some sort. He clearly could have use haki, but chose to lose an arm instead. Good or bad, his intentions are high stakes. I suspect the One Piece will change the world and this is Shank's ultimate goal, to "turn the world upside down". There is still a huge mystery around the Straw Hat and it's connection to Joy boy, Roger was already wearing it when he first met Rayleigh. I wonder where/who he got it from?

I think it’s the best feat in the show to one-shot a 3 billion berys character it’s amazing. Shanks exceed expectations and I think he is #1 in the verse!!!! Even tho it’s not the end of Kidd even tho his conquers mentality got broken here I think he will get back to being a pirate but will give up on becoming the pirate king after the shame and fate he brought upon his crew. My question is - if Shanks is really in Roger level what level Luffy is now? And how the hell can he get to that level???

It means more like Big Mom is a joke of a Yonko. Kaido looked much stronger than her, he required a combination of both the awakening of the strongest devil fruit in One Piece and advanced Conqueror Haki to damage him. Big Mom is the weak one. Kaido one shotted Luffy before the combination of both his power ups. He would one shot Kidd no doubt. However what makes me think Shanks > Kaido is the level of built up hype with a plethora of the most insane feats in the series (scaring greenbull, ending the war with his presence, and now one shot Kidd), along with the fact he was very specially show as both a master of conqueror and observation (pinpoint conqueror haki blast at greenbull from far away and this chapter Beckman specifically mentioned future sight) Haki

Shanks is such a beast that he got rid of that shit pirate and renamed him Useless Captain Kid. Shanks showed Kid's fans, with *ONE* attack, how disposable of a character Kid and his crew were.

When seeing what Shanks did to the Kid Pirates, I now wonder if Luffy will be able to do anything like his fellow Emperor did, even though Kizaru, Saturn, and the rest of their fleet are on a different level!

Here’s something I like to think about. Because fruit come from dreams/desires someone who has been watching Luffy’s journey maybe some kid, will want to be a “rubber man” like luffy. Meaning, there will be (if there isn’t one already depending on if new fruits are still being made) a gum gum fruit and someone will have the abilities of rubber and be a rubber man.
