Today's guest is one of the people who inspired me to get into science communication, Trace Dominguez. Trace has been doing science on KZread for over a decade, you might have seen him on Seeker or D News back in the day, he's worked with The Discovery Channel and of course there's his own channel, Uno Dos of Trace. Trace joined me for a very laid back conversation about anything and everything. This is literally just a couple of guys hanging out. Hopefully that's entertaining for you. :)

He is what really started me on my science KZread obsessions years ago.
Never wanted to join a conversation more, but I don’t have an hour & half to spare on Mondays.
Just adding to the funny intro: "My uncle said with great power comes great responsibility. Well, I really don't want that responsibility!"
Trace is awesome!!!! He should have millions of followers. His content and ability to educate is awesome
Joe! Our musical history is pretty much the same!!! started out with piano, moved to violin and then fell in love with the trumpet in hs :)
Love That Intro Music!!!!
14:45 "All my exessessesss live in texasessesss"
This conversation kept me awake it was that enjoying
Becoming my new fav channel
It is 8 steps to 5 yards.
I like your both conversation guys it's funny I enjoyed watching and listening and laughing great good job guys you both adorable..
2 of my favorite tubers chating like us normal sheep people...I love it
It's Trace of DNews 🤓
I am laughing at the 90s nerd kid memories. Class of 94, here, from Ohio. I miss the cassette tape days and Waldenbooks at the mall. Looking at the DnD books and imagining what it would be like to have enough nerdy friends to play. Dubbing filk music tapes from friends because none of us had much money. I had a pet snake and pet rats. It was a good time to be young.
Best Episode yet! 💯
I love Trace and I was telling my friend I have to have been watching you on seeker since 2017. Seeker plus isn't the same. But I love how at 1:21:45 Joe asks trace of he heard the lawn mower and trace turns his head left and right towards the monitor while he's wearing head phones 🤣 I wish proximity chat worked like that with 3 dimension hearing through calls. Weird to think about in deeper retrospect
I’m here still because these are my new ASMR podcast go to bed fall asleep chit chat
I’m fairly new to Trace. I think I subscribed maybe 6 months before his kid was born… I grew up and went to college (MSU) in Michigan, so about 15 miles from Dewitt, lol I now live outside of a VERY small town in Texas. (I’m 12 miles from town, with a population of 312) I love hearing about this kind of conversation. Tidbits and stories.
I would recommend connecting with the National At Home Dad Network!
I don't have a cassette player, nor do I know where to find one [that works], but I still have some of my old mix tapes!

Cassette players that don't work are often only medium-tedious to repair. The rotating parts are connected with rubber belts that perish, those are a normal service item and are intended to be easily replaced Tediousness comes from some needing a fair bit of disassembly to get at some belts
dude i remember trace from Dnews when i was in middle and high school

¡Que Bromantico! :-P
Joe it would really really be nice if you did these in person :(
Being a new Dad as well, I feel what you are saying Trace about there not being good content for new Dads. Please do write down those thoughts and share them. The new gen of dads needs all the info we can get.
Nice! First time hearing of this new channel! I guess I’ve missed a few episodes?
What I am NOT interested in: Following the mundane happenings in celebrities lives
Ha!! I'm from Grand Ledge. Dewitt was our rival and we called them Dewittiots.
I have Nebula. Content is great, app is a bit clunky and isn't available for my tv so have to cast which makes it more clunky. So I view on KZread if available dispite ads.
i cant believe its you two together... Trace just killed it over at Dnews / Seeker and he was just gone one day it seemed...then i started watching them less...as a result i found Joe! I do feel bad because i didn't at the time think to go look for Trace elsewhere.

Trace brought up Altered Carbon!
worlds are colliding
1:47:01 I wonder if it would be like a stroke? I have had several and healed. I had to learn everything over again. My brain had to find a pathway to my legs. It was the weirdness of looking at my legs and sending the command to my leg and nothing happening. The most unusual thing was after sending thousands of commands to move and nothing happening at all. I was told to stop by the therapists! She said completely stop trying to move you leg. When it doesn't work stop relax and try once. Each time it doesn't work stop then try once again. One day my leg flew up and hit my chest. She said stop stop stop your getting excited and frustrated. Your getting excited because your leg moved and sending hundreds of signals! That's why you just kick yourself in the chest with your knee! Your trying to learn how to control your legs another way not make them move. You keep brute forcing your legs to move you will never learn to walk again. This is about learning to control not move. I would imagine it would be a lot like that!
Thays awesome I grew up in Lansing and had a girlfriend in DeWitt hahaha awesome

Texas and Michigan have only one thing in common. They're populated.
I watched a hallmark move where the girl asked her dates to choose a superpower fly or invisibility- if the guy chooses invisibility she dumps him cause it creepy🤣
