Such an amazing story of this man. I feel sadness for him but am pleased to see that he has been I'd. This engineer in this interview is his name Dr. Abbott well he did a wonderful job on locating this man's identity. I do not see him as obsessed with Locating the id of the Somerton man Charles but rather a hero! If not for his persistence. Charles may have never been identified. That would have been tragic. Bravo Dr. Abbott. On a side note, I do think Charles went to the ocean and placed himself there looking out into the sea and ended his life. He seemed to have faced tragedy loosing a lot of his family members and I believe his ex wife was the rough one. Abusive does not seem to fit Charles' character as being poetic and what was briefly said about him on another site I watched wherein his new found family members showed pictures of him with his family at his youth and stated he like to joke around? Also the comment from the ex husband. Anyway I just feel sadness that Charles felt no other way out. RIP Charles.

There was a scheme to encircle central London, England, with a motorway. The first part was built through a poor area with many homes demolished while houses and flats (apartments) only a few feet away were left to suffer the traffic noise and fumes. When the planners wanted to push through a wealthy area the people had the money, and clout, to oppose the scheme and it came to a grinding halt - a bit like the traffic would have done. Jay Foreman made an excellent video describing events, kzread.info/dash/bejne/q4l5qrmhf8KulLw.htmlsi=K4cMUeSpRUpddwRI

Hi. I'm super excited to have found this book. It caught my glimpse as I saw it as a recommendation on Obamas instagram haha. I suffer from depression and for a long time I had difficulties to pick up a book although I love sci-fi. Also I watched the Martian a lot. It really really helped me. Both books are centered around loneliness and finding a reason to make your journey worth it. <3 Thank you, Andy Weir. I'm already waiting for the next one.

A black hole isn't actually a hole, it's actually a dark star people in the science community really need to pop their chest up and say that(if you're in an actual science community and not just with some tech "nerds") {C.G.I. is gone a bit too "far" don't you think?}. Because it would be considered pretty obvious false scients otherwise, I'm tired of the sick jokes, nothing truly can get done this way. Call it a dark star like it is and actually make sense, and please quit trying to get other people's rocks off, it'd be better to be honest instead. I would say I would be disappointed but, that should be beyond me. 😁 Grow up and tell Disney to go f themselves. They were withering when I was around, I only wonder why that "ghost town" is up again? 😢

What separates Brian from most physicists is the way he gets the information across. Plus he can diversify to talk about social issues, sci fi movies, history, evolution, pretty much anything. Infectious soul

I have no idea how I have missed this for so long, but thanks Joe and The Prof. I saw the length of this, popped it on the TV, grabbed a beer and luxuriated in the discussion. Fab! PS. From 1.16 onward I couldn't even pretend to understand. Black hole, quantum physics, multiverse, parallel universe theories - they baffle me. PPS. However, in another universe I might understand it.

There was a discussion with S Hawkins, A C Clark and Carl Sagan, we all view science and the universe from personal perspectives and experiences. Quantum shapes, sizes and conditions, whose character and personality stands out is subjective to opinions.

What it means to be human, Rumi quote, don't break a human heart for the whole Universe resides in it, he is most likely implying intentionally in a sense that you cannot please everyone. Carl Sagan obviously studied Rumi and said something similar.

I was a Vet, use to think like KB. Been to Ukraine for several months, helped with evacs. and now the Hero thing is real again, but this time, it is about people I know that didn't make it home. They are the heroes. and war never ends, just changes location.

I do enjoy this conversation. Having said that when KB briefly touched on free speech in my opinion he is wrong. He doesn’t understand that the Supreme Court has consistently ruled against the restriction of free speech obviously something that’s already illegal would not be allowed but that’s because it’s already illegal.

I realized how much of a petrolhead I am through NJB videos. I used to think I have to use car for half of my trips in Helsinki, but then realized a few couples of MDs and Ms.Eng. just don't own a car, despite easily affording several.

There will never be a theory of everything when you only have a few pieces of the puzzle. Sabine describes it best concerning dark matter and energy et al.. .. 'Here be dragons', as in an antique map. Just dark matter can have a multitude of basic physics components yet to be discovered, much more than those that we already know. Is it a 50 piece jigsaw, 10,000 piece or whatever?

I don't live in the city. I would be car dependent and do not mind. I enjoy the freedom of driving anything. But my two cents, should be out lying parking lots, with shuttles into the city then on the point, on foot or certain personal scooters or small golf carts.... like vacation spots....

Why do none of these famous celebrity Physisists show of by applying their fancy equations to the 9/11 disaster in New York in 2001? Let me refresh your minds with my proof based on high school level energy equations. Epotential = Ekinetic remember? So Mgh = 0.5MV^2. V=52/m/s(terminal velocity of free falling objects) M= nonrelevant g =9.81m/s^2 Calculate h = 137.81m Thats the free space h underneath plane impact location that is needed for the upper tower part to reach free fall speed. But underneath the impact locations In the Towers there was no free space. There were 40 floors who should have resisted free fall. How did this magic trick happen celebrity physists ????????? Or are you'll also full of shit!!

If you do go to the Netherlands, make sure that you visit one of the other cities, especially Utrecht, and rent a bike and go exploring (or have a local show you the good routes). Utrecht is even better for cycling than Amsterdam. Or.... heck..... and I know this is a crazy suggestion.... rent a bike in Amsterdam and take it on the train to Utrecht! :D
