Everything I knit in 2023 // Slow start & strong finish // Cardi jumper, Tolsta, lot's of PetiteKnit

Roundup of all the things I've knitted in 2023. It wasn't the biggest year I've ever had, but I walked away with a few knits I'm very proud of and quite a few lessons I will take into 2024.

Hi Sheri, your 2023 Roundup popped up in my YT feed, and I loved it! As a monogamous knitter myself, it is refreshing to find a knitting podcaster who ISN'T working on 7 projects at once, including 3 complex colourwork jumpers, 2 of which are in lettlopi. Your knitwear is beautiful. Have you considered dyeing the Weekend Slipover to a nice dark jewel colour?

Aw thank you so much for this comment! I will admit I had a bad phase of too many WIPs during second half of last year but then I really learned I don’t find that satisfying so I am back to a few knits at a time so I feel like I can finish some things. More satisfying that way! Never considered dying the slip over. It’s a good idea but I think for the hassle and my general feelings of that specific piece I am not sure I am wiling to put more effort into it. But maybe one day 😁

I used to have your sentiment on socks until I started making them two at a time. Was a gamechanger in terms of no second sock syndrome.

I should do some research on how to do 2 at a time. My brain can’t compute how that works but I’ve also never done any proper research on it.

@@Goodknits_ you can also do two at a time in separate needles. I sometimes do them that way. Right now I’m doing the Tesselated socks by Andrea Mowry and it uses 3 different strands. I work a few rows on one sock and then switch to the next one. Method really helps that second sock syndrome stay at bay!

@@scrapperchris6461 great advice! Maybe one day I’ll give socks a try again. I do really want to make those curio socks because I like the yarn and pattern so perhaps doing them together will make it easier

Knitting on TAAT socks whilst watching - it’s great for striping socks as they always match!. I use 2 circulars as I’m useless with magic loop.

You made lovely knits and learnt a great deal. Congratulations. A channel you may find helpful is @mostly knitting. She is great at knitting maths and working out fit. She also does some tutorials. Happy new year

What a wonderful collection that you’ve knit last year! I’m obsessed with the highlighter yellow Oslo! It just is so fun especially for cold winters!! I can’t wait to see what you knit next year!! :)

Happy New Year Sheri. I really enjoy your podcast and so appreciate your frank discussions about your projects, the patterns, and the yarn choices. This particular podcast was especially enjoyable. I love the color of the Cardi Jumper on you. I know you did not make the sweater that you were wearing but that color is dynamite on you. I too want to make a Storm sweater for myself and have bought the yarn but it seem like it will be a big project so I am dragging my feet getting started. I think you should dye the Weekend pullover. It looks so nice (fit wise) on you but if it were a different color maybe you would wear it more.

Thank you so much for the lovely comment Brenda! And I am very happy to hear the info I am providing is helpful and appreciated. You should definitely make the storm sweater! I promise it just looks more complicated than it actually is. Such an enjoyable knit. And you could always take your time

I think you have cool undertones in your complexion so you would be a cool color palette. That's why you don't think yellow undertones like beige and brown work for you, but you like the purple sweater you're wearing 😊✨ Anyways, thanks for this video it's very useful and interesting to watch 😊

I did my colour analysis with a stylist about a year ago and they decided I was a true autumn, which for the rest of the palette I agree with. But off white and beige are meant to work for me, but I think it just depends a bit more on the specific tone of it. Can’t win them all 🤷🏻‍♀️😊

Maybe the slipover would feel more you with a different colour light turtleneck or Mockneck top under it and closer to your face? Like maybe a black one

Hi Sue! Haven’t considered that before but maybe one day I’ll do it. I’m just not quite sure the piece really fits into my overall style either so have to decide if it deserves more effort from me 🤗
