This video is to short clearly you did not list all the great things. I mean it has a time limit that is clearly to short. This is one of the best versions of Skip Beat+Violet Evergarden+Carole and Tuesday out there. Phenominal series next week is to long a wait for the next episode let alone X number of months.

Not even after it finished, he started Oshi no Ko WHILE still running Kaguya. Both weekly manga running in the same magazine. And once Kaguya ended he started a new one, also a weekly in the same magazine, running concurrently with OnK. Akasaka is a madman lol

Apparently the OP for this got #1 on the 100 Billboard, the first for an anime. Not only that, Aqua and Ruby were featured on the cover of the Japanese Fashion magazine "Spur", something no other manga or anime character has done before. This series has become quite the phenomena.

It's so cool because you also have to realize... this show is an idol show! And a weird and darker look at that. Like Shonen and stuff I could see but I never imagined Oshi No Ko to blow up this big. I love Oshi No Ko. I'm not hating on it but you must admit that the first 30 minutes if episode 1 was a bit weird. Especially for more casual anime fans. I am glad that it's getting the recognition tho.

I love the detail that when channeling Ai, Akane pronounces Aqua name "Ah-ku-wa" like how Ai did but everyone else, even Ruby pronounces pronounces it "Ak-wa." And that pronunciation difference is how Aqua was able to tell that there was something different about Akane.

A Japanese channel is covering real Idols reacting to this series, and so far they’ve said it’s pretty accurate. Ofc, not all have the same experience, but in general, they’ve all agreed on how real it is.

The way each episode ended with the ED being perfectly well timed was one of the best parts, to the point where I was looking forward to how they would happen each time.

Yesss I loved the way the ED started to play, and how it fit the vibe of emotional, heartbeat, or other tone the episode ended on!

My guy speedran the editing for this video. This came out 3 days after the show ended. Honestly, I think your channel is criminally underrated, you're wholesome, pretty relatable and so consistent with your content. This channel should get a max 2 wins.

Seriously I was pissed when I saw that this almost HOUR of fully (well) edited, and more importantly ENTERTAINING video got, like, 40k views! Please still keep making videos. I clearly don't need to be the one to tell you this based on the clear ammount of passion you put into your videos, but I have to have it said that your hard work is appreciated! @@AnimeWins

Did you miss near the beginning of episode 8 when Kana walks to school and overhears the girly talking about shipping Aqua and Akane, how all the colours were really muddy and desaturated an how all of the colours returned, the exact moment Kana heard Aqua's voice. That being once again a really great way of showing Kana's feeling without spelling them out? Or did that just not warrant a win for you?

I particularlly enjoyed her being blind to the white glowsticks at the end, possibly because of all her self-deprication. Only seeing it after Aqua went all out with the dance moves as if to instill more self confidence (as we the audience also notice more white glowsticks)

Idk if it's been shown in other anime but I noticed it here first so I'll say it. I love it when the characters' hair have some loose strands here and there, especially on close up shots. It doesn't feel like they have sheets of paper as hair.

I only just noticed now somehow that Ai is voiced by Megumin from Konosuba who also did Emilia in Re:Zero, how I didn't notice that until now, (unless I forget) I'll never know lol.

The thing I loved most about the last episode was that the confrontation between Akane and Kana wasn't centered on getting Aqua's attention, but more on them competing on who is the best actress

One more thing I loved about this show you didn't mentioned is that the second song they performed in the last episode (when Aqua got "struck") was the same song old B Komachi performed in the studio in the 1st episode where everyone went from "they are probably mid" to being speechless. And I swear, Kana's kiss in that bit looked exactly how Ai's kiss did. Quite poetic way to close the loop for the season in my opinion

And Kana’s reaction to Aqua’s wotagei was a visual mirror of Ai’s, and happened at the exact same point in the song.

Really nice to see when a studio like Doga Kobo realizes what kind of series they won the rights to animate in Oshi no Ko and they give it everything they have (and probably even more than that) and the end result is a masterpiece-level production. This honestly looked like a production that one of the highest regarded studios like KyoAni would have made IMO. I really can't wait until S2, because the 2.5D Stage Show is one of the best arcs of the entire series.

ain't going to lie. Ai's death broke me and so did Akane after she was saved. This anime was so damn good.

As always, great video! Two things: 1. Another win could've been how the manga for "I'll Go With Sweet Today", the show Kana and Aqua acted in, was also featured in Kaguya-sama. That was the manga that gave the student council "Shojo Manga Brain" and I loved how that reference ties this show into Akasaka's other major work. 2. Speaking of Kaguya, Mem-cho gives major Chika vibes and I absolutely love it. Not a win necessarily, just something I personally appreciate because Chika is one of my favorite characters in all of anime and Mem-cho radiates that same chaotic energy, but also has a deeper backstory, much like Chika.

Oshi no ko is peak Anime of the Year! 🔥🔥🔥 No one is going to change my mind!, Every main character are simply amazing! Best girls Kana and Akane! 💙❤️ U are awesome as always!

You asked if the idol and entertainment industry is actually how it's portrayed in Oshi no Ko and though I'm not an expert on this I can surely say that it is. Aka Akasaka made this the main theme of the show besides the murder mystery revenge story and it may even be the most important aspect of Oshi no Ko making the story just a way of conveing it. The part about Akanes breakdown was also very similar to the story of an actual suicide (which led to some drama with the mother of the victim, she even received death threats despite the episode condemning exactly this). I'm not sure if the manga based it on that or if it was written before that happened.

This show hit me like a truck. Very rarely do anime seasons meet the hype built up by manga readers but I feel this went above and beyond. I'm sure even some manga readers would think so.

Loved this anime so much! I was very hesitant to watch it at first because I had never been into the idol anime genre, but finally caved after hearing so many anime reviewers mention it and all leave off with the ambiguity of "just watch the first episode" and not reveal anything. So glad to have gotten into this one and the manga!

love what you're doing and really glad you chose this anime, it's become one of my fav. they can switch from happy go lucky to dark real fast and just everything else, it's an amazing anime, glad you covered it. again love you man ❤

43:05 should have another win because during the end credits it has Pieyon (Aqua): Otsuka Takeo So yes, Pieyon under the mask in this episode is voiced by Aqua's VA.

This show got me hype in ways I never thought would be possible! (I'm looking at you Aqua's stalker's scene and Akane personification of Ai at the end of ep7 :p) Aqua scene really made me aware of the importance of voice acting, and the power they can carry. And as for Akane, it's about the amazing feat someone can pull off when invested into a character. To the writing of the show, and its well-written characters to the visual aspect, sounds and voice acting, this show is easily top tier in my book. And it's also one of the few shows where I won't read the manga until I live the anime experience first (hello Re:Zero) , no matter how much I want to know what's next. This is how good this show is for me.

i had literally zero expectations for this show because im not really the romance/ slice of life guy, but holy hell. masterpiece of an Episode 1, and the way the following episodes take that momentum and keep it rolling kept me HOOKED. this is the first anime in a LONG time that had me genuinely excited enough to want to read the manga. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT DUDE

I had the same experience. I viewed this anime as any normal idol anime, but the hype made me curious, and now i really want to start the manga. On the other hand, i want to see season 2 blind tho, so if you have read the manga, can i ask if it's better to read it now or wait for season 2?😢

There is only one other anime that hit me harder than Oshi No Ko and I don't even want to say the name of it in fear of spoiling it for someone. I actually had to stop watching that show for awhile because the death of one character literally hurt. Thankfully the show did have a happy ending.

The transition to the ending credits is always so awesome. Love it and can’t wait for season 2. I held off on reading the manga because of the premise. When it turned into a murder mystery I was so stunned. Now I am invested.

i wasn't expecting to actually like this one. but when you want to jump into the anime to help the characters, they did something right. another anime in the books that actually made me feel some type of way

This anime out of how many I've seen some how made its way into my 4th favorite anime of all time, because for me characters is what keeps me watching and all the characters in this show are so good and likeable

For win 155 never be afraid to ask for help, it has literally saved my life, your not weak for needing help no one person can carry the entire world on there backs.

I immediately caught up to the manga within half a day of this episode's release. No spoilers, just... This shot instantly to my #2 manga. I haven't read many but I got high standards for them, I truly adore this series.

Let's just say I have never before been so invested in a S1 of an Anime or IP I had never heard about before it aired to speedrun the ENTIRE REST OF THE MANGA in one sitting the very day after E11 came out XD (Chapter 122 is current at time of comment. S1 Anime ends at Chapter 40). The writing, the art style, the characters, the emotions. All just perfection to me. Easily my new favorite anime.

ngl I would have also given a win for the Oshi No Ko directors for putting the suicide hotline at the end of that one episode - it's extremely thoughtful of them and makes me respect the show even more

I think it deserves a few more wins arround the world building of the entertainment industry. There were so many moments explaining how interactions, favors and popularity works. Showing us the harsh truth was executed better than in any other Anime i watched till now in regards to this.

The stars in the eyes also have meaning, like aqua has black stars because he's looking for revenge so black stars show negative emotion and white stars show positive especially when sparkling

Aaaa this anime was so good!! Rarely do I cry multiple times to a show, let alone feel insane hype, joy, satisfaction, and awe at visuals in just one season. Oshi no ko is really something special, and your review/commentary was very well done!

I was watching ep1 and was so engrossed into the show i was about 2/3 through the first ep i stop and thought wow this ep is long only to realize its over an hour long. Really gald they did that instead of have to rush though the story. Also after finishing ep 1 i went and started the manga. Cant wait for season 2

Oh hell yeah this was such a fun watch. Yes there were serious bits with respect to the whole idol culture and episode 6 specifically. But man that last episode when they were on stage...that was something else

Speaking of "opportunistic wind cliche", I just rewatched season 1 of 'Log Horizon' and since I regular watch these videos I laughed when one of the characters did the "opportunistic wind cliche" during the Princess's speech at it's dramatic point. 😁

Probably you already noticed but the last show had a lot of parallels woth Ai singing/dancing the same song and many other references. Quite unapologetic mirroring even the babies dance.

This show was definitely my favorite this season and I know that's a fairly mainstream point so I'll say this. While I love the OP just like everyone else there's something about the ED that gets me every single time and I thank you for pointing it out

I think if you go back through episode 1 you can actually see the star sand she was referencing that the stalker guy gave her

44:10 there is a collection of videos of various real life Japanese idols reacting to the series, and there's quite a bit of them relating to the situations in the show. Quite insightful to hear from the mouths of people literally in the profession.

45:20 also notice the guy right behind "the guy from the first episode" is the killer.

That's first episode sucker punched me and left me flat. It's going right next to Shelter as things that make me cry the second i remember them........ gonna need a week or 2 to get it out of my mind.

The fact that this show was writen by the same person that did Love is War is an auto 2 win for me

Easily my favorite anime of the season, I sat down and read the entire manga once the anime was over and it was a tragically beautiful journey.

Oshi no ko was not at all one I was expecting to love half as much as I did. I usually try out whatever is popular just to see and then drop it after 2 or 3 episodes but this one just stuck to me and quickly overtook RE:Zero as my favorite. I love this show so damn much and I think the fact that there is 80 wins before episode 2 shows exactly why its so great. I actually put off watching this video because I really didn't want to admit that I had finished whats currently out to myself. Especially with recent manga decsions I worry about how well this show will continue to be but god damn do I more than love this first season of a show.

Also around 35:50~ In the show there’s a bit of just Aqua laying on the table dead inside cause they essentially forced him to All night it given he’s the only one who knew how to edit videos (second being MEM Cho but I’m assuming she probably has an editor or her videos aren’t as heavy on the editing in comparison)

Every song in this anime either a small song or a long one like the opening or ending has some sort of adaptation on the oshi no ko channel or by the composers who made the song the pieyon one has a real version with a japanese body builder kana' s song has the entire music video the opening made by yoasobi has a music video and even the pepper dance kana made has a real life adaptation minus the peppers in the background
