I know Michelle Yeoh is already a legend, but how honestly refreshing to see an action hero film staring a 59 year old asian woman kicking ass being a wife and a mum. We need stories like this!

I'd be okay with it if they gave her superpowers, but movies always try to convince us of old martial arts masters being stronger than the young. An average cop with that gear on would defeat her even if she's an expert in martial arts. She doesn't have the muscle mass or the youth.

@@P.90.603 It matters because Hollywood has gotten incredibly lazy. All the re-makes are designed for Chinese audiences; known properties that made money here, but were made when China wasn't allowing Western films in their theaters. As for sequels and spinoffs, Hollywood is just demonstrating their current lack of talent. Most of the great directors are aged out of the game or dead now, and we're left with ADHD style movie makers who got famous making music videos and whatnot. And if you enjoy it, that's fine, but most people don't, and Hollywood has made less money overall for about a decade now, even including China ticket sales. Covid really hurt them, and all I can do is laugh and keep doing what I was doing - Cancelling Netflix and just torrenting everything. Cuz so little of this crap is worth paying for. This looks good, however, and I'm always happy to see a new IP on the rare occasions they show up.

SAME!!!! But I was also already on my path to this type of mentality and belief. I still believe in my God and Jesus Christ, but I believe now the power that I have because of them or that's within Myself and everyone else! This is such an amazing movie! And it's crazy how the mother and daughter were pretty much exactly what my daughter and I have been experiencing. Her and I always go against the grain and me. And also have a mother just feels like she has settled. But she sees more now. And I think that even though we all don't always get to be what it is we dream of being, it's okay to choose a different path and be just as happy if not more. But self-empowerment is my mission. And this movie has given me a boost. And I also have self confirmation that my daughter and I still know how much we love each other and how much I am there for her just like Joy expresses.

I'm ashamed that I waited so long to watch this film. What a beautiful, poignant, funny, emotional movie this is. Everything from the story, the themes, the writing, the acting, and the editing makes this movie a masterpiece of cinema. Michelle Yeoh puts on a tour-de-force performance for the ages and she deserves every award she won. The same goes for the movie. I've seen iconic movies from Citizen Kane, Vertigo, The Godfather, Goodfellas, Forrest Gump, and The Shawshank Redemption, Back to the Future and this movie should be held in the same regard as those classics. It's absolutely incredible and is quite simply one of the greatest movies ever made.

Its not a usual movie that you thought it was like a comedy, action, etc. Its also like a psychological thriller portraying a woman who struggling with everything everywhere all at once. A depressing moment she cant express to the world. Divorcing her husband. Her father didnt like her marrying young. Her fighting with her daughter. And her daughter having a relationship with the same sex. Its actually a great movie. Very artistic. Exaggerating everything that a person cant explain in words.

Did you know that when they first go to the IRS, the laundry delivery van they're driving in passes a person spinning a pizza sign, which foreshadows the skill Evelyn learns later. Or how about the fact that that laundry van is the same van Alpha Waymond is running his operation out of? One of the only movies that can capture nihilism so perfectly. Everything Everywhere All At Once is a wonderful movie. Most of the people who didn’t like it didn’t understand it. They dismissed it as too complex or confusing, not realizing the depth of its meaning. However, those who took the time to really delve into it were rewarded with a profound and thought-provoking experience. It just goes to show that sometimes, things aren't always as they seem at first glance. Evelyn's belief that everything matters contrasts Jobu's belief that nothing matters. Evelyn felt a deep connection to the world around her, believing that every action, thought, and word carried significance. She believed that even the smallest gesture could have a ripple effect, impacting the lives of others in ways that were often unseen but undeniably real. Jobu, on the other hand, took a more nihilistic approach to life. She saw the world as chaotic and meaningless, believing that nothing truly mattered in the grand scheme of things. This perspective led her to live a life of detachment, never fully investing himself in relationships or goals, as she saw them as ultimately futile.

Like seriously, this is one of the best trailers I've ever watched. Though I've watched the film, watched the trailer, it really packs the essence of the film into 2:41. And I can watch this trailer over and over again and it really is so much fun! And I watched the film again recently on a plane through a seat gap on someone else's screen, with no audio. and the person watching it was having such a wild time! And I looked around my section on the plane at the other seats around me and others were watching the film too! It really made me so happy!

Just such an interesting movie that does so many things I've never seen anything like before. Watched the movie and it felt like I went to therapy for 2 damn years. It has a deep meaning to it that you just can't find in other modern movies. You'll laugh, cry, and learn to appreciate things around you. It examines nihilism, existentialism, and everything in between. We live in a world (or a universe lol) where all of us are just here on borrowed time when we will eventually cease to exist and return to dust. But, if we choose to, we can make this inevitable journey of life to death a little bit more meaningful if we love, appreciate, and make the most of what we have. Because "nothing matters" is the reason why everything matters. :) 100/10 one of my most favorite movi- I mean, pieces of art I have ever encountered.

Yes! You're the first comment I have found that mentioned nihilism and existentialism. The Daoism and Yin Yang aspects were marvelous all the way down to the rocks on the cliff. While the humor wasn't exactly my cup of tea the entire theme of the movie was phenomenal. I cried as I sat next to my fiance because there was no where I'd rather be than next to him in every moment.
