This whole movie felt like an Alien fan finally got to fulfil his dreams since childhood, like I can actually sense it, he poured his love of this IP into it, he definitely has a fear of Facehuggers, loves Alien Isolation, curious about how chestbursters are growing inside their victims, and there seems to be shots of xenomorphs molting etc. and he even included details that the sequels missed like the blue mist above the eggs. He brought closures to those questions he had growing up watching the Alien movies.

@@Percival-kl9yy Well, let's assume David created his breed of xenomorphs, other engineers came to collect it and take it away from him, he was either destroyed by them or his own creation, and the engineer ship crashes on LV4-26 due to infections... Thus leading to the original Alien... The prequels were always going to lead to the original either way so this was the plan since the beginning anyway... I would have loved another prequel, still it's not too difficult to connect the dots and see how the end of Covenant connects to the original movies even if we don't see everything... Romulus is set 20 years after Alien (so 5 years after Alien Isolation) so it will have easter eggs linked to every other story including the prequels yet happens to be its own independent story

This really just looks like a reamake of a movie that really didn't need a remake. I hope there is more to it.

Yeh, that's the one thing that doesn't sit well with me. If that's the target audience, it's gonna be a lot more... hectic... than the original Alien it's advertising to be like. Not much story in this trailer either. I fear it might just be your typical horror movie with college students getting killed off... but IN SPACE! If so, FTS. I hope I'm wrong tho. I'd really appreciate a proper Alien movie, but this casting and the lack of story int he trailer... sus.

@@catfeeder5306 I was a touch young for Alien - though I saw it the instant it came out on VHS. When Aliens came out I couldn't wait. That was the greatest movie experience of my life up until that point - and we had a lot of classic movie experiences in the seventies and eighties!

I’m not gonna lie, seeing full on practical effects with animatronics in an age where cgi dominates actually has me excited. CGI creatures nowadays are so incredibly photorealistic and I love it, but seeing what appears to be a real, tangible Xenomorph has me interested.

The practical xenomorph looks awesome. Only issue was that during the face hugger on that British guy's face it looked very wobbly and obviously a plastic mold. Hopefully this is good!

We've literally only seen two minutes of a 2.5 hour feature and people are already complaining before they've even witnessed any plot devices or character development. These types of fandoms are so quick to judge without any context. Let's sit back, watch the full product, then go from there.

If it’s about characters surviving and outsmarting an intelligent monster then I’m sold.

Love the way the writing "ALIEN" appears on screen in silence while flashing between scenes! Genuinely feels different and refreshing as opposed to that recycled style DUN DUN DUN slamming door sound or whatever hahaaha

Finding out that the banging sound is the alien smashing into your ribcage before it bursts through your chest is freaking horrifying!! Whoever came up with that sound effect is genius......
