@@TheChadAbides No, not at all, did you even listen to what he said? There are no NVidea chips IN the cars, exactly as he said... Upto early 2019 Tesla used Nvidea chips in the on board computer, but after Autonomy day that was stopped. The massive amount of H100 Nvidea GPU's Tesla bought from Nvidea are used in the server centers to train the neural net, and it has ALWAYS been beside the Dojo super Computer Tesla has developped in house.

@@richardwolf6269 Only a new buying opportunity. I never planned to sell until tobo-taxis were out there. Remember the stock price has nothing to do with the solvency or business of a company. It has only to do with this qtr's returns. The huge mistake Wallstreet is making is that since most of Tesla's current money comes from car sales they judge its worth totally on that basis. They completely discount everything else it has in the pipeline until they show profit on the bottom line.... but then it's too late to get into the stock cheap. Tesla is similar to where Amazon was when they announced they would do AWS....Wallstreet only valued them as an online retailer still after this until AWS started hitting the bottom line then look what happened. Tesla is not about cars and never has been... it's mission is to accelerate the transition to renewable energy. EVs was just a way of doing that....robo-taxis will then solve the problem of apartment dwellers not being able to charge EVs at home as well as do away with maybe 30% or more of the new car market as city dwellers decide not to own one at all. This will be an even bigger step towards transforming us towards renewables.

Yeah, I've been a shareholder since 2018 and am currently just holding. Most people have no idea what's about to happen this decade with autonomy. The architecture they are on (v12) is the solution. Now it is merely a matter of time (and computational processing in the world's largest Nvidia H100 cluster)

I am not sure. The baseline business does look like it is in somewhat in trouble. I wish they would make the cars just a bit more usable to regular people (like getting rid of the turn signal stocks was a terrible mistake on the latest Model 3). I think a slightly larger ~$60,000 SUV would be a great addition to their line-up, many people want something larger than the Model Y and the Model X is too expensive / strange. If FSD and Optimus really take off then that is great. If Tesla really struggles this year, this might be a great time to buy assuming everything else comes together.

Selling cars is a vehicle to get the rest of the world moving faster towards dumping gas and coal, it's one step in a wider plan. I believe that skin will eventually be shed, and you will see the company evolve to something like a Samsung

@@danielcarnam6420NHTSA set the regulations for autonomous self driving in 2021 this was two years before. The bar has been set and I wouldn’t be bearish on Tesla meeting the standard. Tesla will get there first and no one will catch up until Elon moves to Mars

Tbf, a 40% drop in the space of a few months borders on the catastrophic and it would appear it’s going to keep dropping. In the past Musk could usually come up with something to prop up the stock in difficult times, it would appear that is no longer working.

@@tatata1543 there'a a difference in this drop though.. it's a lot more influenced by public sentiment for the CEO than it should be. Since acquiring twitter Elon has become increasingly more hated, specially by those on the left, there are hit pieces everywhere on Elon which means every little hit on the stock is severely amplified and has a harder time recovering, nothing significant has changed in how Elon runs things, but his public perception has changed dramatically. People who are seeing right through this are looking at the current stock price as nothing more than the sale of a life time. Tesla as a company continues to have strong fundamentals, leadership and a solid direction, that's all that matters in the long run, everything else is just noise.

24:04 Didn't think that they would want to optimise the cheaper standard range car rather than long range. Makes sense, since maximising the amount of vehicles on the road will bring more data for FSD optmisations, will get more people to know the car, and will bring more revenue from Robotaxi fleet. Robotaxi feature will probably bring Tesla several times more money per car, than selling a car. For example, profit from 40k model 3 is 10k due to margins. Each robotaxied model 3 will bring Tesla 60k over 10-20 years if Tesla takes 30% from 200k cars lifetime revenue. So rollling out Robotaxi fleet is something like selling 3-10 times more cars.

Poor guy trying to predict completion of this crazy new problem. For anyone doing real life applications predicting exactly is extremely hard. This one significantly harder as there are lots to unknown. My hat goes down to this guy.

Addition information (once they solve FSD) could be accident reporting (not including your own, meaning even seeing an accident happen you are not in gets reported immediately to authorities.) GPS coordinates and accident metrics for both liability data for faster accident investigation (clearing the scene faster), and precise first responder data for preparing for the situation before they even leave the station.

Good to revisit this. the thing that stuck out to me is Elons definitely believes individuals will be able to put their cars into the robotaxi fleet. On that point I"m skeptical still, but robotaxi is for sure coming in easy cities like Phoenix and Austin.

Great info. I watched Total Recall last night and saw the robo taxi (Johnny Taxi), a few Cyber trucks, the cars on mars were electric, the boring co was at full speed. Arnold's room at the hotel even had a poster of the space x starship (almost). I have not seen any women who could nurse triplets as seen in the movie, oh well. Thanks Farzad and Elon.

It’s time for another day like this. Elon needs to spell out an update on this vision. Even if he just confirms plan … better very very late then never. As as FSD user, I can say this is finally a reasonable vision.

I just bought my Tesla Y for dog mode. I had an Audi Q5 before because I live on a Vermont mountain with dirt roads. I thought that car handled the snow and mud, but my Tesla is even better. It plows through mud with ease. I barely feel any slippage when I hit the ruts. We get some deep mud up here so I was really surprised how well it handled. It’s better than any other car especially going up the mountain roads. I didn’t even have snow tries put on because I bought my car in February/March this year. I can only imagine how much better it will handle next winter when I put proper ties on it. Does the car see potholes? When I drive spring then the car thinks I’m drifting out of the lane and tries to straighten me back out. I don’t like how it over powers me. I had to take the lane departure assist off. Any thoughts on what I should do about that? It only happens when I’m driving over 45 mph

How do you keep the cameras clean when driving in certain conditions?

Farzad, this supercut is just what everyone needs, a reminder as to what this company is! Honestly, this flashback is 100% still relevant (minus the Elon timelines). Almost every word he said back then still applies today it’s as if the man was sent from the future 😅 Tesla had been executing near flawlessly, sure the timelines are a bit skewed but version 12.3.4 blows my mind and it’s crazy that the stock doesn’t reflect the progress and realize how close it is to prime time. It most definitely makes me question the statement that markets are “forward looking” 😂.

Farzad thank for posting this. I now have a thorough understanding of Robotaxi and I’m bullish on the direction Elon is taking the company.

Elon was correct about the redundancy of the electronics for Autonomy except that it isn't the electronics that are the weakest link LoL The mistake made in S3XY was the reliance on a SINGLE electric motor and drive belt to control the steering angle, yes they added two electronic control modules and separate wiring plus two sets of power wiring! Unfortunately the single motor and drive belt has proven to fail in service (some reported to have failed at low mileages). I believe that Tesla honestly thought one motor and belt was enough however it has since become clear that the risk of total steering control loss with one motor and belt is too high. This is why steer by wire was a priority for CyberTruck this replaces the mechanical linkage on the earlier S3XY systems with a second electric motor and belt providing the required redundancy to safely operate UNSUPERVISED autonomy. It should be noted the SAE Levels 1, 2 and 3 are all SUPERVISED (a driver is required to be ready to take control) only SAE Level 3 and 4 allow UNSUPERVISED autonomy. For a deep dive go watch "All EV by Steele Auto Group" KZread teardown of Tesla Model Y steering rack... After watching this you might understand.

A lot has happened since then. Not many people let alone large company leaders can pivot and shift their focus better than Elon can. He absolutely needs more shares of Tesla to ensure he can effectively lead it to its goals. I sure hope his investors know this.

Farzad, I'd love to hear a knowledgeable AI expeet speculate on the archetecture of Tesla's FSD 12 solution. Are they overlaying all 8 camera images into the model and getting controls out? Are they mixing in transformer architecture with previous controls (ie what is my next action) with the images? It could be that transformers are required somewhere and rhats why AI solutions in 2019 coild work. The architecture wasn't possible yet.

27:22 Hah, he says that FSD model is trained to provide lateral and longtitudal controls, like WASD controls or a joystick analog output. And from that the computer algorithmically makes adjustments to throttle, steering, braking. But I wonder where the turn signals are coming from then? I doubt they are possible to deduce from just WASD controls.

The consensus on the 8/8 Robotaxi unveil seems to be that Tesla will show progress on a car for its Robotaxi fleet. It’s clear from this video that Robotaxi is an autonomous Uber service and any S X 3 Y Tesla can become a Robotaxi (that’s how Elon refers to it). 8/8 will mostly be about a demo of this service imo.

@7:30 Elon asked, "Should we add anything more?" I'm guessing Tesla already tried near infrared, to see through fog & smoke (and keep the cost low at the same time). Sandy Munro has been 'crowing' the need for infrared & near infrared. I'm guessing the reason Tesla is NOT using those cameras is COST. Infrared is very expensive. Computer inference is cheap!

How about insurance cost for those robots taxi? I’m guessing thru Tesla insurance might be cheaper, but I can’t imagine any other company who will take advantage of this, kinda like Uber & Lyft, is possible to make good money, but if you have a high insurance cost it won’t be so much profitable.

Like Elon said before, autonomy cannot go mainstream unless it provides driving than it is better than a human because every mistake will be criticized. Just with the issue of distracted driving there will be a reduction in accidents. I watched a 2007 Elon Musk interview the other day. He sticks with his vision and goals for the future. The only advice I would give him is to overestimate the time needed so he would look good to investors when he delivers early instead of late. If he gets high adoption rate of FSD even at $99 he could give. the company a boost in profits. Tesla says that model 3 will be leased and taken back is interesting feature. model 3 at first is not good for robotaxy since financial expence is too much but after 5 years it is at right point. And it is built so that Tesla can run it 3-4years so it is bargin. Also that few hundreds of thousands of model 3s is not enough for scaling. In 5 years 5milj robotaxy per year at 25k$ is needed.

I hope the robotaxi and model 2 have an integrated solar rooftop and a 110 outlet inside them in addition to usb ports A and C. It would also have a built in Starlink satellite dish inside.

I mean ok. But what difference will a solar panel really make. I'm struggling to charge a 30ah battery in a day in equatorial sunshine with a 200w panel ideally positioned south facing. Would Starlink be effective on the move? My understanding is it needs a fixed location. I think that's why they are pursuing mobile partnerships isn't it??

There is such a thing as Starlink roaming (see their website) and RV people are getting them. Spray some water on your panels and the charging will probably be better. The panels are meant to supplement while it is roaming outside.
