Not a Chargers fan but a photographer --- love the fact that you guys showed love to the creatives that keep your team marketing running smooth.
This video means a lot to me not only because I’m an inspiring sports photographer, but I was also one of the soldiers holding the colors for the national anthem at this game and I got to give a jersey to one of the fallen soldiers families!

HUUUGE quality content! How wonderful it is to see a team organization give the deserved attention and recognition to its photographer! Thanks chargers for that!
This is fascinating to me as a hobbyist photographer. It looks fun but definitely a ton of preparation and work.
13:25 Boom, right there, stayed with the player and got a great reaction shot while the photographer to his left missed it. Fantastic intuition.
I cannot say how much I love this so much. Thank you for doing a feature like this. As someone who just started shooting high school sports for fun, this is a dream job. I love seeing the details that go into the day for Mike, including how early he gets there to get the day started. The equipment you all have is insane! I love that you all get to mount cameras to shoot different angles of the tunnel entrances. I love the little tidbit about making sure your camera settings are ready for you when you switch cameras. While I only shoot with one camera, it's so true that you can accidentally knock them off of the proper setting. Thank you so much for this!!!
This should be a mode in madden
Crazy I've been seeing this guys photos my whole life, kudos! I remember seeing the name as a kid, it's awesome to get perspective as an adult on what goes into capturing all those moments!!

He talks so laid-back that if I close my eyes, I’d think it was Joey Bosa talking

THE FEATURE WE ALL NEEDED
Excited that Mike gets his own video. Just based on the title, I knew it was about Mike. I enjoy looking at all his photos on Chargers website and social media platforms over the years.
I can't imagine the stress level before, during, and after the game. It's really cool to see all the things that make up a football game. You never think about all the stuff that a photographer goes through to get set for a game. Really great stuff, Mike. Awesome job and fantastic pictures.
Loved this. Please do more of these behind the scenes. 💙⚡️⚡️⚡️
Mike Nowak is the man!
i would die for mike nowak
Canon 1d. Still using DSLR's. somethings never change. Kickass photog.
As a photographer, I love that Mike Nowak is getting a spotlight video. This is so cool and I hope people gain more respect for the profession.
Just getting into photography so this is pretty cool!
Man the talent and creativity in this video is nothing short of astonishing!
Cool to see the chargers giving their photographer some love. Very much a demanding Sunday. My dream job. I've shot a couple of things for the falcons but nothing full time. That would be my dream. I see him using the ol pocket wizards for the 1dxs! Blast from the past! It it ain't broke don't fix it!
As a video and photo professional who used to work for the Eagles' in-house broadcast team, this was an incredible watch. I'll definitely be showing it to my high school students to help them get a better understanding of what truly goes into doing this at the highest level. Would love to see more of this sort of stuff. Would love a sequel focusing on the team videographers!
Great insight; I've just seen that marvellous video! The ability to nail everything at the pinnacle of action is amazing, full of precision, timing, and skill to capture the perfect shot in each frame. Big ups to all the sports photographers worldwide for their hard work and professionalism. You guys get a perfect job done, and through this work of yours, the thrill and beauty of sport are brought alive for the rest of us. Thank you!
behind the scenes content is always so good. loved this and the equipment manger video.
Wow🎉. Thank you. This is really the best photography video that I have seen in 12 months. Great stuff. Thank you. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Loved this video. To see the creativity and strategy behinds the scenes all while under pressure with the action.
I can’t get over all the equipment, logistics, placing remotes, editing can be done with precision!! Excellent video!
As a photographer and social media director, this is fantastic. Would love to see one from the POV of the social media team on gameday :)
Thank you, highly motivating for those in the field of photography.
That 14+ minutes went very fast. Aaah... those beautiful throws, the jump to tip the ball, the catches. I want to s-t-r-e-t-c-h that video to take it all in. Woes me, I miss them already.
Man, this is greatness! I have SO many questions I'd like to ask. Love stuff like this. Thanks for sharing.
Wow. Thank you. This is really the best photography video that I have seen in 12 months. Great stuff. Thank you.
our teams work so hard behind the scenes... from the photographers to the video content team... this was such a dope idea to put this together
As a professional photographer who works in music, this video is absolutely amazing. This guy is so chill and so professional. It truly shows the importance of documenting history. Photos will be the only thing left in for generations of people.

That was amazing, props to all the socials people, even this video, I wanna work some day with y’all or something similar
Inspiration my friend! Keep up the great work.
phenomenal video
Great video. Very informative. Always lloking at ways to improve my skills even if just shooting basketball. Hopefully some day ill get a pro game or 2 under my belt !! Keep up the great photography, Sir.
Favorite Chargers Video Ever. Go Chargers! Thanks Mike!
Wow, thank you for sharing this video. So much is going on. I can’t even imagine how much camera gear you actually are using throughout the game. I’m getting into action sports and I do racing events and I don’t have the distance for a 400 or a 600 mm Lens because I do ATV racing and dirtbike racing in the woods. But 90% of the time my 135 mm f1.8 is on my camera. It’s such a do all lens that just gives that beautiful background separation. Keep up the great work. You definitely are one hell of a photographer.
This is dope af!!! As a novice I love this bts! Much respect to the craft!!! 2 types that interest me are wildlife and landscape🤘🏽
THANK YOU FOR THIS!!!!!!!!!!🙏
“Most of the job is hurry up and wait, but then it’s also go go go”. such a great video. learned a lot
such a fantastic job !
You are a god my friend! Keep showing your passion to us. We need these moments. Not a Chargers fan but who cares your work is amazing.
I love to watch other photo pros do their thing. Thanks for sharing this.
Awesome insight into the life of a sports photographer. Thanks for making this video!
so this is the man i have to thank for all the Dicker the Kicker pictures!
Fantastically insightful!
I'm a Div II sports photographer and relate to this. Only difference is, there's no provision for me to connect via ethernet for quick uploads. I'll shoot jpegs to a second card and share the card during the quarter. Works fine, but would love to have a faster setup. I plan on working with the University to fix this.
been a diehard Chargers fan since I was 6/7 years old and i ended up becoming a professional photographer so i never clicked so fast on a video lol ⚡️⚡️
Wow looks like Pocket Wizards. Didnt think many still used those triggers. LOVE videos like this that shows content we rarely if ever see. Great photog work btw

Its nice to see you get to have some creativity. I always thought being a sports photographer would end up being boring, but you get to have the freedom to get some cool stuff outside of the actual game.
The kind of job that’s fun every day! Awesome!
The dream job right here. Amazing work.
What a cool job, and to do it in San Diego, then LA for 25 years. Good for you my man. 📸
Such a great feature!
Great insight
Yeeeeahhhhhh Mike!!!!!!!!
Nowak's glass game is impeccable. Every tool at his fingertips. I am curious to the avg amount of shots he takes per game ?
Great video! Remember my 1st shoot with next to no memory and I deleted my best shot of a reaction by mistake. Now prepare, plan and prepare some more!
Dope to watch photography has so many facets
This Photography team is really talented. Great shots.

Cool gig 💯
Love this video. Very insightful and entertaining at the same time. Can I ask a couple of questions: 1. What format do you shoot (Raw vs jpg) and do you do the processing or does the editor that you send the pictures to? 2. As someone who wants to turn a hobby into a 2nd career, how do I get started. I was allowed pictures for my son’s high school cuz I’m also an employee, but can you just call up to a local minor league team or college and ask for a press pass? I was told you have to be part of a news organization to do so.
10/10 fav video
That’s so cool
Now that looks like a fun day at work!
As a videographer, this was really cool to see. Gotta do one with the video team!
I am a hobbyist photographer. I have had the pleasure of photographing semi-pro soccer and minor league baseball. I love seeing everything that goes into photographing an NFL game!
Marvellous
Those receivers on top of the camera aren't needed anymore if using mirrorless. It's so fun to see advancements in tech.
Photographer and Free Safety 🙏☀️
The offseason has officially started
would love to see one of these but covering someone from your marketing team!
So much prep and so quick interaction between photographer and media! Dream job right here! But for the 49ers 🫡🫡
The man, The myth, The legend!
i need one of those hoodies Emma has.
What settings do you use 1. to freeze the moment? 2. in group photos to make sure, everything is sharp?
I'm wondering in what situations are you using the 135? I have the lens... Bought it for volleyball but don't use it much. Please give me a reason to keep it. 😊 Thx. Great video!
I need to learn about that remote system he had for the walk out and the transfer to the media team
This is incredible! I shoot for a school district so I definitely needed some of these tips and tricks. Can you explain that transmitter setup and how it sends the photo directly to the editor? I NEED THAT LIKE YESTERDAY!

depends on the camera but the older pro-cameras (and some of the newer ones) have the functionality. They all use FTP - so some IT knowledge needed but look it up. Once you've shot this way its a game changer, i personally connect via FTP to my laptop so I can edit, then straight into dropbox for clients
Seeing the players pray on a team in a town like LA is reassuring
Not my team, but incredible inside look at how photography captures it all.
Yeah 🤘😎📸
Man I would love to do this job
So many files to go through after. Easily a 40 hour week right there.
What hardware is used for the remotes? 3:53
thanks for sharing. my dream job would be to do this, except for the NBA.
Awesome! Ive been a professional photographer for 20 years, but I shoot models. This is a tough job and a ton of work. Would be fun to try for a day but not sure I could do it full time. Interesting to see hes still using the 1D X rather than a newer mirrorless camera, I like it. Great work!
