These are so in depth, this guy is way underrated.

I have f5 changed to c and I find it more easy to fly in third person when I am high up and then quickly change back to first person when I am close to the ground or flying trough tight spaces... being in third person makes it easyier to see the land below you when exploring. also a really handy tip what I do when I am exploring far out is just to grab sugarcane untill you have 3 stacks and when it gets night equip your elytra in your offhand (only works if you have mending) and try to kill creepers at night to get gunpowder and make more rockets. to make your journeys last longer. also how to practice flying. load up a amplified world and give yourself a elytra a lot of rockets and just fly around mountains and try not to hit stuff. and if your getting somewhat skilled try to fly trough mountain holes and stuff you find. or you could fly in and out big huge 1.18 caves you find all over the world in a normal world.

A lot of these tutorial videos I already know but I've been on and off casually playing Minecraft for years and some of these are actually really helpful to either remind me or completely teach me things. I've never gotten an elytra in survival as i usually lose my motivation having beaten the bosses. Thanks!

So I found out an easy way to get multiple elytras, at least after you get your first one which is pretty easy to do. I found 7 end ships doing this without using a stack of fireworks. Always fly over the void and over the small floating islands because they tend to always lead to bigger chunks of land and once you find one follow the land and they almost always end up with a end ship.

The Nether got trees in 1.16, which was released summer of 2020

I'm sitting here watching this and just thinking about how much you helped me on my minecraft journey. I started playing it for the first time only a couple months ago. You helped me learn to enchant, how to find netherite, how to explore a lush cave. Last night you helped me kill the enderdragon, today you helped me navigate the end, find an end city, and get my first ever elytra. And now you're teaching me to use it. Hell yeah man! Usually when you're just walking to find an end ship or end city. Put your main armor and sword at the echest, bring some echest with you just incase (and some blaze rods, so you can recraft echests if you don't have silk touch on your pickaxe) Then just equip your main armor when you are about to raid it. Just equip some iron or diamond armor from villager trade. (Since one slip up or lag may result in losing your main armor) After raiding, return back/place an echest again and equip your iron armor. Then continue finding more end cities by foot. (If you're going to useyour new elytra, just keep your main armor on. But if you're about 5 rockets left/or elytra is 1/10th durability... Land right away)

You helped me on the firework flight

I kind of wish that they added flying mounts over the elytra. They wouldn’t be as convenient, but elytra is op, and it would have been cooler. They could’ve made the elytra a glider (no firework boost) and added a flying mount of some sort for travel.

If you use feather falling potions you can actually pick up speed without using anything else. All you have to do is go in between flying and not flying and you can constantly gain lift

Never managed to get Elytra myself. Only beat the dragon for the first time the other day (thanks to your video), but I found 3 end cities in a row with no ship, then fell into the void and lost my Netherite set. Sigh... started a new world, the hunt begins again.

I'd add to feather falling that protection IV on your other pieces also contribute a lot to flight safety. While people get that protection is the generic defensive enchantment, a lot of people don't grasp how close to universal the defense is. With feather falling you get up to a 48 % damage reduction from fall damage or 12 % per level. Protection will grant you 4 % per level, meaning with 3x Protection IV you will get another 48 % damage reduction that applies to fall damage. The damage reduction is capped at 80 % and works additively, so technically two pieces of protection IV is enough to maximally reduce fall damage, ender pearl use damage and damage from crashing into walls. Some buffs can further prevent damage beyond the 80 % reduction cap.

wait it works additively? i thought it works multiplicatively - 4 Protections = 16 EPF (EPF=Enchantment Protection Factor; 64% damage absorbed, 36% damage taken); then Feather falling 4 (only 52% fall damage taken, so you take 18.72% of normal fall damage (36%*52%) if not capped, as we know EPF is limited to 80% damage reduction) well i did not know that feather falling counts to EPF as well (i should have known about that tho)

Thanks for the infos! I was trying to repair my elytra so I haven't slept in three days now, and I still don't see any phantoms spawning, but I kinda start seeing things when I space out.

For newbies watching this, when you go to the end to do the dragon boss, ALWAYS carry with you one stack of fireworks, an anvil and a mending enchant. I keep these items in a chest in the dungeon portal room, so I can start using elytra straight away without having to worry about it breaking. This might seem overkill, but if you have travelled a good few blocks to get to the dungeon, flying back is the best, and safest way to get home. Also ALWAYS block off the portal room with some cobble or dirt blocks before you go into the end, this keeps mobs like creepers from entering the room and damaging the portal when you return.

The only thing where you are wrong is: If you wanna travel large distances, FD3 is the best to use. 1 is really only useful in caves or narrow spaces. But FD3 rockets have the best cost/traveldistance ratio.

Here's a cool trick: if you have the jump boost 2 effect, you can perform a double jump by running and double tapping jump while looking slightly upwards. This jump can get you 3 blocks high, and it's been really helpful for building stuff in my base.

Btw with a Riptide trident if you let go of the charge when you're at the surface of the water you can go from sea level to about y level 225-250. Also, i think that infinite flight is facing 40 and -40. Other than that, great vid!

It's definitely 45 degree angle. In physics that's the optimum angle to launch something the furthest. Basically he showed us how to ride a pendulum for flight.

@@williammorales3859 Sorry to disagree with you but minecraft doesn't exactly follow the laws of physics as we see whenever we mine trees. I don't know a lot about physics and I won't argue with you about real life physics. However if you go and test it yourself, (as I have) -45 and 45 is not quite infinite flight. I know this because I've flown over 10 000 blocks in minecraft with 1 rocket.

This item ... is the perfect solution because i have one problem in my World ... 😒 the end portal and a near Ancient City is about 1900 Blocks away from my Base So traveling this far by using the boat and somtimes with ice neads around 2 hours ... so thanks for the information. 😄

First thing I did when I got my elytra was fly straight into the wall of an end city and lose all of my gear, fun times

Challenge: try flying from the centre end island to the outer islands, with render distance of 20 or Less. Think you can fly in a straight line, slightly up, without any refernce points? Not a chance, and a good way to loose everything. I even tried it with coordinates on, and map in hand. Its crazy how hard this is.

do the fire works only launch you if you have an elytra on? been trying to fly with just rockets and im pissing in the wind

a tip i would give to land better is to alwasys keep your chest plate in your hot bar and while landing once your close to the groudn just right click the chest plate and you will land safely i only recommend this is ypu have feather falling 2+ and protection 4 on your armor or else it wil not have any change
